Daggers Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 That Preston bloke. The Ordin Ary Boys - where do they get their names from?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 That Preston bloke. Neil Mellor? I would just rather have a new centreback (judging by yesterdays attempts) So Olsson from WBA or Sol Campbell
Ozwin Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Parkin? Brown? Brown I think, that big centre forward of theirs. Mellor wouldn't be bad either tbh. Oh and let's get Richard Chaplow while we're at it.
sdb Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Do we really need another striker?! We've got loads, AND they're all/mostly pretty decent. It's only cause Fryatt's having a dry spell that people are going for it. And where are we gonna find affordable, proven, strong, goalscorers??!? I'd say the likes of Fryatt and Waghorn (please God, stay) are as good as you're realistically gonna get.

CKB Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 A decent RB, midfielder and a striker..not much to ask for?
muffin Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 I would agree with all the below especially Tom Cleverley Neil Mellor Chris Brown Peter Halmosi Tom Cleverley muffin
sdb Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Is Mellor better than Fryatt, Waghorn and/or Gallagher? Suprised at how many want him.
Spiritwalker Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 What about Kitson who's on loan at Middlesborough at the moment ? I don't think Stoke would want more than 1 m for him. Mark Davies does not seem to be playing for Bolton at the moment is he injured? Jobi McAnuff for me is one the best midfielders in the Champ but I'm not sure Reading would sell.
mmarkie Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Does anyone else think Benjani could be a realistic target? Obviously wages would be the only problem. Also we need a scoring, hard centre-mid, Paul Green from Derby? could so a swap with Dickov and DJ?
Mikey Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Halmosi and Koren would be quality. Also extend Waghorns loan, and get Max back.
Ultra Posted 7 December 2009 Posted 7 December 2009 Mark Davies does not seem to be playing for Bolton at the moment is he injured? He's been a pretty constant figure on their bench in recent games. There's no prospect of getting him back.
teblin Posted 7 December 2009 Posted 7 December 2009 Pace! we need to add pace in all areas of the team.
Fox92 Posted 7 December 2009 Posted 7 December 2009 Peter Halmosi Tom Cleverly and/or Robert Koren Joe Muprhy Rob Hulse A hard midfielder to play with Wellens. Think they are all realistic.
Solihullfox Posted 7 December 2009 Posted 7 December 2009 Tom Cleverley has signed to continue his loan spell with Watford until the end of the season - he is off the radar.
SMX11 Posted 7 December 2009 Author Posted 7 December 2009 Halmosi Grant McCann Gary Hooper That is all
Guest ttfn Posted 7 December 2009 Posted 7 December 2009 HalmosiGrant McCann Gary Hooper That is all Neither of these would improve our team. We won't have loads to spend in January. We just need a new right back in my view. We've got plenty of wingers but Nige seems unwilling to play them. Halmosi would add some quality though
Babylon Posted 7 December 2009 Posted 7 December 2009 Tom Cleverley has signed to continue his loan spell with Watford until the end of the season - he is off the radar. Unfortunately most don't seem to be operating in the real world, so they are taking no notice of that little fact.

I think Hooper is a very good player and he is young, he is definately better than Howard, DJ etc but I would only buy him if we clear out DJ & Dickov. We desperately need a Centre Mid as I have my doubts over Oakleys effectivness at this level, McCann has impressed me whenever I have seen him, he is a box to box type of player who has a eye for goal and a good set piece man as well.

He may be better than Howard but he's too similar to what we've already got. He's not going to improve us. You can not have seen McCann play more than a couple of times, although correct me if I'm wrong. You can't notice the impact of a supposed 'box-to-box midfielder' on highlights. We'll agree to disagree.
