Dylan Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 Chris Iwelumo? - Hes not getting much games at Wolves, and did quite well last year in the Championship. Cant see Phillips coming, as he scored 2 goals recently, and starts tonight, so looks like hes gonna get a run in the team Also, tbh, I think we need a good CM, with some creativity and a decent pass. From what i've seen, Oakley and Wellens have NO creativity at all so our strikers have nothing to finish. Yesterday, we enjoyed all the possession near enough, yet only created one chance where Gallagher should've scored.
jonthefox Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 Me! I couldnt do any worse than last night.. nb, as i smoke , i may have to stop running every 5 mins or so to cough up soot.
Dylan Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 Or Delfouneso from Villa... Hopefull Martin O'Neill will do us a favour!
Fox You Forest Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 Fowler? You must have caught enough to get you through the next few winters by now.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 QUOTE (iancognito @ Feb 10 2010, 08:43 PM) *Vaughan's been at Derby this season and isn't getting in at Everton so he'd be a possibility, if only for a month or two. But I go back to what I said in the Fryatt thread, we've got Howard, Waghorn, Gallagher, NGuessan & Kermorgant and if Nige sticks to the 4-3-3, there must be a goalscoring combination in there somewhere. If you include anagrams there might be! I've no reason to be convinced otherwise. biggrin.gif If you include anagrams there might be! I've no reason to be convinced otherwise. Good shout Thracian - you can get Goals, Goals, Horn, Tank out of those strikers, with some left over!
Spiritwalker Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 If you include anagrams there might be! I've no reason to be convinced otherwise. Just Anelka I'm afraid. D.Bent - no B J.Defoe - no F Tevev - no Z Adebayor - no Y W.Rooney - no Y D.Kuyt - no Y

Tuna Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 Tommy Smith (Portsmouth) - linked in past, not in Pompey first team and probably keen to get him off wage bill temporarily. Quality championship striker. Danny Webber (Portsmouth) - may not be available, playing for the first team at the moment, may be worth a shot. Freddie Sears (West Ham) - Think hammers may be loaning him out again, but I'd rather have an experienced forward. Ricardo Vaz Te (Bolton) - Still at Bolton I think, he may be injured? Caleb Folan (Hull) - surplus to requirements there. Roy O'Donovan (Sunderland). Dave Kitson (Stoke) - would be a quality striker here, did well at Middlesbrough, not in first team at Stoke. Eddie Johnson (Fulham) - made no impact at Cardiff last season, US international. Gary O'Connor (Brum).
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 Get one of the hot lads from Swindon in a cash now, plus option to sign at 'X' price later deal.
lou Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 super kevin phillips..... No chance - Birmingham have told him he'll be playing more 1st team football now - he said it in his interview after the game on Sunday. We should have gone in for him earlier
StanSP Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 Get one of the hot lads from Swindon in a cash now, plus option to sign at 'X' price later deal. So we pay now, and then what if he turns out shit? I don't think even Mandaric throws cash around like that .
Salieri Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 given that we still have quite a few strikers in the club, it wouldn't be too helpful for their confidence if we were to loan a striker in right away. That said, once they've proven they can't score, say in 3 or 4 games' time, i'm sure we'll get someone in. freddie sears? huntelaar?! Of the names mentioned, Vaughan or Delfouneso would be nice (realistic).
Corky Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 I've still got some faith in our current set of forwards, however if we are still struggling after the next few games for goals then we should look to add to the squad.
Spiritwalker Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 I don't get it! You'd be no good on countdown.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 You'd be no good on countdown. Ahhhhhh! In which case, Owen's an option, or maybe even bring Shearer out of retirment?
MPH Posted 10 February 2010 Posted 10 February 2010 Why loan in someone else, just recall DJ. Actually it will probably be cheaper to get someone else in... young land Niall Malone i think it is who plays for Newcastle would be a nice chap to have around. Thats if we need someone else in - im not convinced we do. We have Waghorn and Gallagher who can play Fryatt's role.
Shipman Out Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 Moyles said only the other day that Vaughn will be loaned out so id say him. Freddie Sears will surely be up for loan again especially after the players West Ham got in on deadline day (all strikers) Delfonso would be good but cant see O'Neil loaning him out.
Head Honcho Posted 11 February 2010 Posted 11 February 2010 Dj cant be recalled. James Beattie/Kevin Phillips/ James Vaughan. Beattie! Isn't this the guy who had the chance of a move to Fulham but wanted £40k a week? Kevin Phillips would be my choice, but could we afford his wages? Would he come here? I doubt it.
