Emergency Loan Striker

Moyles said only the other day that Vaughn will be loaned out so id say him.

Freddie Sears will surely be up for loan again especially after the players West Ham got in on deadline day (all strikers)

Delfonso would be good but cant see O'Neil loaning him out.

didn't exactly do much as Palace earlier in the season despite my CPFC supporting colleague telling me he would be a 25 goals a season striker

Steve, Yann, Waggy - perfectly capable.

Howard - Not good enough at this level

Waghorn - Puts in a lot of effort but doesn't threaten the goal enough

Yann - Yet to prove he's good enough at this level

A loan striker is a must.

A loan striker is a must.

I think it hinges on the formation we play. If we're going to play 4-3-3, then none of our existing strikers can play the central striking role.

Howard - not quick or mobile enough

Waghorn - a lot of huff not necessarily enough puff

Yann - not enough of a threat, but has height

Gallagher - plays to deep to be a lone central striker

If we switch back to two out and out strikers up front, then I think we're ok as we can play a combination to complement each other.

A loan striker is a must.

Howard - too old and slow, last season could've been the last best he's had

Waghorn - similar to Fryatt, needs feeding from midfield to prosper

Gallagher - hardly ever played as a striker

Kermorgant - has hardly ever featured, should be played (why else did we sign him in the first place???)

N'Guessan - can play as a striker

I don't really see the issue here with what we've got.

I don't think Waghorn is a similar player to Fryatt, Waghorn doesn't make enough off the ball runs.

Pearson can't rate Kermogant that highly or else he would have featured more, he's a decent player but not one who is going to get 7/8+ goals between now and the end of the season.

Even with Fryatt fit we weren't scoring enough goals, without him we are screwed as far as I'm concerened.

If we continue to play 4-3-3, we have loads of options, for example;

Waghorn - N'Guessan - Dyer Would be my next option, Danni will be great down the middle, a real 'presence' to lead the line.

Waghorn - Kermorgant - N'Guessan Another interesting option when Yanni's fit.

Don't be afraid to mix it up and try the options though, and, most importantly 4-3-3, none of this 4-5-1 rubbish we played the other night.

No Gallagher as you can see, I would have him in midfield with, on current form, Oakley and King.

Of course you could get really creative, deploy Waghorn and N'Guessan well forward but starting out from wide positions. Gallagher in the hole in front of a 3 man midfield. Fanciful I know but that system would have won a World Cup had it not been for a very dodgy pro-German referee!

The formation is the key.

Personally I'd give 4-4-2 a try with Waghorn and Gallagher up front.

I'm not sure but have they been given a try out together yet?

Supply is vital to this partnership though and I'm not sure we have the quality week in week out to sustain our lofty play-off position.

It has been tried once i think. It didn't really work. I can't remember which game it was though

Surely there's someone in our prolific reserves/youth who can step up? I'd be interested to hear from Tharcian

Too much pressure to replace Fryatt when we're chasing a play-off place, even though Yussuf and Chamberlain are scoring lots of goals for the Under 18s (5 between them on Tuesday).

Not a bad idea, non of the current lot look like there gonna score alot of goals.

Waghorn is best with a big target man...

Gallagher isn't a natural striker

Kermo, hasn't really had the opportunities

Howard has flattered and looks over the hill

so our best option for me is Waghorn with either Kermo or Howard upfront and Gallagher in the pocket!

I think he's more of a attacking midfielder, but I would love him to prove me wrong and bag a hat trick on satday!!! :fc:

Can we kiss and make up if I say I agree with you :kissing: !!
