New manager, new start for DJ ?

Hasn't he got a serious assault charge hanging over him?

Knowing our luck with the fella he will just start scoring and end up in nick!

I think a lot depends on wether he gets on with the rest of the squad. He's been ridiculed and treated like shit by the club. Afterall it's not his fault he's on a lucrative contract.

There might be a lot of spite and jealousy towards him as he earns a lot more than the others and of course he had a 25% pay rise after promotion in a season when he didn't contribute anything (through no fault of his own).

I still think it's best for both parties to move on. It wasn't meant to be for Deej at Leicester.

to be honest those in glass houses and all that, what is it 4managers that have failed to get anything out of him at Leicester? refusal to go on the coach to an away game when Holloway was in charge, stupid snide comments about hating the club.

DJ has done as much to burn his own bridges with the club, the players and the fans as anyone else has

I don't have a crystal ball, tarott cards or read tea leaves, but looking at the skid marks in my missus's drawers, I can predict...........................

:scarf: DJ will be a Blackpool player before the start of the new season. City will cut the price & Blackpool will buy. :trumpet:

Ridiculed and treated like shit??

He constantly slagged the club off, eg. ' I'd rather go anywhere than leicester', and it would be his fault he's on a lucrative contract, it's the players who ask for this sort of money and hold out for a move till they get what they want, hence the reason he hasn't fooked off to blackpool, because they weren't willing to pay him £20,000 a week.

Do the math, why do you think he wanted to leave? That's right because he was treated like shit.

Wouldn't like to se DJ come back in to the fold myself. He's had enough chances, has never performed and has publicly stated that he wants to play 'anywhere but Leicester'.

But with a new manager coming in, I think its highly likely that he will at least have a look at DJ to make his own mind up so who knows, he could be heading for yet another chance in the first team.

You never know though. Even if Sousa is prepared to give him a chance to prove himself here, going off what DJ has said to the media he may well just refuse to come back and play for us anyway!

We've been trying to sell him for the last 2 years and nobody wants him.

May as well keep him. If Sousa plays it along the floor he might actually score a few goals for us.

Dont get me wrong, I dont particularly want him back here, but as I said, people aren't exactly breaking the doors down for him. You would have thought that after the end to the season he had a Blackpool, they would have just paid the money we asked and signed him up. But they didn't and you have to ask yourselves why.

Either way, a striker with pace is always a good thing to have in the locker so may as well give him a few games and let him try and prove himself (yet again) and then see what happens.

I dont know why he hasn't done the business so far but he showed last season that he has ability so why not try and use it?

He's been cleared of the assault.

Not according to this report in Weds Merc - http://www.thisislei...il/article.html

Star is bailed in stabbing inquiry

Leicester City striker DJ Campbell has been bailed by police who arrested him in connection with a stabbing at a London nightclub.

The 28-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Blackpool, reported to a police station in the capital yesterday.

He was told to return in August, when officers have made further investigations.

A Metropolitan police spokesman said: "On April 22, a 28-year-old man was arrested in Blackpool in connection with a stabbing at a nightclub in Northend Road.

"He is next due back in August."

Officers are investigating the stabbing of a 24-year-old man outside The Crescent Club, in West Kensington. It is understood he was stabbed in the side but has since recovered.

I guess we'll find out how Sousa rates DJ in due course...

Paulo Sousa has promised a clean slate for every member of the Leicester City squad, even the players whose City careers seemed to be over, writes Rob Tanner.

The new City boss, pictured, said all the players will get a chance to impress him, including striker DJ Campbell, who seemed to be on his way out of the club last season.

Nicky Adams also turned down a move to Brentford in a bid to prove to Sousa that he still had a future at the Walkers Stadium.

The players reported back for pre-season training on Wednesday and Sousa said he would take time to evaluate the squad before deciding on any squad changes, but he promised the players would only be judged on how they perform for him, and not under previous regimes.

"They all have a chance to prove to me they have an opportunity in the squad," said Sousa, who yesterday clinched his first signing, concluding a season-long loan deal for Benfica's Miguel Vitor.

It has become increasingly apparent to me that DJ only plays well when he need a contract. So if we could keep him on a monthly rolling contract, then fine.

Money seems to be his sole motivation - there's no love of the game/his club.

Well he is a footballer, Trav

if he carris on the form he had for blackpool last season then I'll have him back.

Then if we got promoted, just release him as he would be out of contracted. We would have used him for a year then and at the end of it go no reward!

If he can score 17 goals in 35 games like he did at Blackpool, then we'd be mugs to let him go.

New season, new manager, new start.

Give him a break.

He wasn't wanted here for whatever reason last season and ultimately played a part in our destiny.

He's bound to get interviewed about things in the coming weeks if he's still around. My guess is there we're still actively looking to offload him because of his wages and potential transfer market value, but if he's here then Sousa will give him the chance.

And if we continue to be stubborn about his transfer fee and he's still here, I want to hear him say that he's willing to work for us again. I've never liked him here for one reason or another and I don't expect to see my opinion change anytime soon, but if he remains with us for this next year and is willing to put some graft in then he'll be on par with everybody else for me.

Realistically though his heart's not in it here, but none of you seem to remember that...

That's the main reason I don't want him here - he can leave on a free if it means he goes

I thought he'd be a decent signing when we got him in... he'd impressed at Birmingham in the Premiership from what I could remember at the time and I thought if he could get more starts here then we might have bagged a bargain.

Well how wrong was I... fucking useless twat. As far as I'm concerned, he can leave on a free and rot in the mire that is League Two... where he belongs!

I know many of you will harp on about him doing it at Blackpool last season, but in my stubbornness, I'm putting all that down to sheer dumb luck and some crap refereeing.

Knowing DJ - it was probably crap linesmen...

If he is prepared to work hard, and recreate the good form he showed at Blackpool, then I say keep him for the rest of his contract. We would be stupid not to use him if this were the case. Big if, I know, but you never can tell.
