adam1 Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 The following is my view on Sousa, Pearson, the owners and the game last night. I have concluded it all at the bottom. PEARSON AND SOUSA Pearson was no tactical genius. He made the odd mistake. But remember we were in the top 6 all season with a team just promoted from League 1. Success. Sousa in comparison well I have already wrote out the points about defending below. Its expletive ridden, so I'll try and be clean. Sousa is useless. Why did Pearson leave? Obviously its to do with the takeover. We do not know what exactly. Here are a couple of ideas that have been floating around. [these are rumours and I am not stating that these are the reasons why Pearson left.] 1) Pearson unknown in asia 2) Pearson dresses in tracksuit bottoms and doesn't have the style of Sousa (selling point to asia). 3) Pearson would be problematic as he likes to run the team his way (signs who he wants to sign and not who the owner wants). GIVING SOUSA MORE TIME? 5 points from 8 games. This is not a bad run of form which just so happened to start at the beginning of the season. This is a run of form which has ran on from August and into September. We are one week away from October. People might say that we have been unlucky with red cards, disallowed goals etc. That is complete and utter crap. If we have a disallowed goal we would still win the game if we are good enough. We are not. Do not try to hide the teams inability to play football on the decision of an official. After all we are 8 games in and we are not that unlucky. I would even go so far as saying that luck has nothing to do with it. Luck is a word I associate with faith. Blind delusion. Denying the inevitable. I do not like managers being sacked. I am often in favour of managers being given more time. But I completely disagree with giving Sousa more time. DEFENDING Under Pearson our defence was resolute. The defending last night was terrible. Our defence has been dodgy all season. The following is what I typed up first. Its a bit of a rant. I am not editing it in anyway as I cannot be arsed. 1) Nugents goal (logans double save). Robbie fooking Neilson. 1st shot comes in and is saved. Neilson doesn't follow it up and doesn't respond. He just stands there like a complete pillock. Striker then has a second shot which is saved. Neilson having not learnt from his first mistake 2 seconds previously just stands there like a complete pillock. Striker then has a third chance which he puts in. ALWAYS FOLLOW IN. BASIC RULES OF fooking DEFENDING. 2) The 5th goal. A cross comes in, a line of leicester players. Comfortable? YOU NEVER EVER EVER fooking DUCK A CROSS IN YOUR OWN fooking 6 YARD BOX. BASIC RULES OF fooking DEFENDING. Andy King WTF? 3) The 6th goal WHERE WAS THE fooking CHALLENGE? One replay showed Michael Morrison LIFTING HIS BOOT OUT OF THE WAY OF THE BALL. BASIC RULES OF .... you get my point. [rant over] Anyway Pearson wouldn't have stood for this. If our defending has reached this level it goes to show how bad Sousa is as a general manager. He has lost the team. SOUSAS REPLACEMENT So who to replace Sousa? Someone who answers a question with 'yes.' Someone who doesn't mind using the players the owner signs. Someone who has to be well known abroad (so no up and coming english talent) They have to be smartly dressed (no tracksuit bottoms etc). Unfortunately any manager fitting he above criteria is going to be completely shit. CONCLUSION Yeovil away next season on a wet and cold Tuesday evening. Edit: Oh and one more thing. Sousa never got out of his seat. Pearson would. He cared. Even when we were 5-1 down against Forest. Sousa just sat and smiled. He looked like he didn't give a fook. S****horpe at home on 2nd October. Anyone remember the 'Megson for Bolton Chant' - it worked he left 30 minutes after the game! Something similar perhaps?
Matt Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 I got a text from my contact saying simply 'the coach is an idiot', this was at the QPR game. Says it all really. Did he ever leave his seat during the game last night? I'm sure at one point he turned and looked to oliviera and said 'this is shit', so at least he can speak some english. Gathered up in a tent, and wheelbarrowed by Sousa and his dour faced assistant, every one of us I don't expect you to name your contact far from it but is your contact a player, or in and around the squad? I take it he is, I can understand if you didn't answer. Again its just a rumour, your word against others but I do believe you have been proven to be right in the past with things you have reported from your contact, but another factor that points towards Sousa losing the changing room.
Cropwellfox Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Thank god they've introduced the seat exchange scheme for ST holders this year, because i'm not going again while Sousa is in charge, at least that means i'll be able to go and take somebody along tothe games after Xmas when there might be something worth turning up for.

Infact you might be onto something there, If there could be in anyway a big boycott arranged, Imagine how much out of pocket the club would be if season ticket holders stayed away then 'cashed in' there seat exchange scheme having to 'give away' free seats for every season ticket. Shame a big boycott would never able to be arranged in such a way.
reynard Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Well I came on here this morning in hope but I see the arrogant prat still appears to be in the job!

maddog Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 The guys had 8 games, we're not going to go down i'm certain of that with the players we have. Sacking him will write off any slim playoff/promotion hopes we have now, and who the fook do we replace him with what happened to stability. He's just spent some money on a lot of his players, he's changed the type of football we play, his training regimes are all different. We can't just wipe that all away and start all over again with another new manger, new tactics, new style, new training. It would be a disaster. Results have been very poor so far, but you have to admit we have played some nice passing football at times. I have been so much more entertained by our home matches this season than last, isn't that what football is about We can't sack him MM or the new owners won't i don't think. We could win at Norwich and pick up points in the homes games after easily, all this could be forgotten. 5 points from 8 games isn't a complete disaster, i'm sure plenty of teams have started a lot lot worse. We have been very unlucky. 2 extra points were deserved against Boro, we almost nicked a point at Palace and showed real effort V QPR before being hit by that 2nd goal. 8 games, it's crazy. Plus we're still in the cup.

Shame a big boycott would never able to be arranged in such a way. It'd happen in Germany (see Dortmund fans) but there is such a sense of apathy amongst the majority of ST holders you're right. It's not going to stop me staying away though, and I would imagine a number of ST holders will be thinking the same thing. I phoned the Ticket Office this morning and have asked for the current policy on Seat Exchange to be confirmed in writing because i wouldn't put it past them to change their minds on how the scheme is used.

bettso Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Well I came on here this morning in hope but I see the arrogant prat still appears to be in the job! They would have got back too late last night for a meeting and if they are going to sack him will be drawing up a shortlist today. I have every faith that the Thai's will sack him before our next game. Whilst they obviously want to be able to have a product to push in Asia, they are business people and they will know that they can only achieve this if they have success on the pitch. I wanted to give him time but last night showed everything that could be wrong with a team from the comedy defending to Waghorn's free kick. The only redeeming feature was Steve Howard showing how much he actually gives a shit after he scored and the final nail in the coffin was when about to be interviewed by Sky, Sousa is laughing. When he was appointed I was really looking forward to his style of football and to be fair in patches this season we've seen some nice passing and movement. But at the minute i'd give anything to see Wayne Brown hoof it to Howard who in turn knocks it down to Fryatt who bangs it into the net.

Mr Paulo Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 I reckon if Sousa doesn't release a statement explaining what last night was all about, he's gone usually after something crazy like that happens the manager comes and explains or at least apologises! So.. Please Mr Raksiaron Spelling? Pick up the phone and ring MON offer him 1m and see what he has to say
Mr Paulo Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Ignore my point http://mobile.lcfc.com/runtime/leicestercity/article?articleId=2164743
shade Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 too knee jerk, horrible display, but time in football isn't 8 games, that's the equivalent of watching the first 2 minutes of a film and saying "it's shite"
Stig the Lawnmower Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Ref to Point 2 – it's 4 4 2 all the way for me. Ref to Point 5 - I've said in other threads we need to go back to basics and stop the 'flouncy' Sexy football – great over in Europe and IMO it should stay over there. Don't get me wrong I like entertaining football but good old fashioned basic football can be good to watch too when played well. Ref to Point 8 - Maybe the case but I think Abe is very good and Waggy has shown us what he can do when he isn't shoved out on the wing ( but if your referring to the fact that they are here due to Milan and not Sousa saying hey LCFC Board I'd like to sign Abe and Waggy – then your point is well taken and agreed with) With regards to a replacement if Sousa does go - I don't have a clue totally agree. Paulo's style of play is probably more at home in Portugal. I've stated this in previous posts, Paulo doesn't seem to know how to change play when it's going tits up, last night for example his sub for the sending off was bizarre. Against QPR it was obvius that it wasn't working out for Matty after 15mins, but no change. This is getting serious now, I always thought we wouyld turn it around but I just can't see it. there are flashes of great play, but no end result. Perhaps Chris Powell should be appointed assistant manager to kick him up the arse. I really want it to work out for Paulo, but its looking grim. The thai's want high profile, can't see them putting up with it for much loger. Replacement - Haven't a clue

Plus we're still in the cup. I admire your optimism but if we don't win the next game we are likely to be in the bottom three at the end of September. In the past twelve seasons no side has made it to the playoffs from that position so we are extremely unlikely to achive a top 6 finish. If we are in the bottom 5 at the end of the month we have to realise that 60% of sides in these positions at that stage of the season have gone on to be relegated. You make your own luck. Why did we deserve two more points against Boro? Yes we showed effort vs QPR but we didn't creat any chances of note. So far we have managed to sneak past a severely depleted Cardiff team and been humiliated on national tv by a team who can barely fill the subs bench and who were bottom of the table. The manner of the defeat and the manager's frankly arrogant and pathetic response at the end of the match indicate to me that he is not the man for the job. Yes we won't necessarily be relegated and he may turn things round but at the moment I couldn't defend that position. He seems clueless tactically and many of his signings are simply not good enough. We're shipping goals at an alarming rate and though we pass the ball to each other well at times we don't do anything with it. Prewtty football is fine if you have the calibre of players Arsenal have at their disposal but football is all about results and right now we are miles away from where we want to be and showing no signs of getting there. In fact we have3 gone badly backwards from last season with largely the same squad, the main difference is the management team!
Houdini Logic Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 You're all cretins. Anyone with half a brain come to general chat until this wave passes
shade Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Since when did 720 hours even compare to 2 minutes? 720 hours? wow, have we played 80 odd games with Sousa? mate, all this moaning would be a lot more understandable if it had been 720 hours instead of minutes!
Kilworthfox Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 You're all cretins. Anyone with half a brain come to general chat until this wave passes We can't sack Sousa. My major concears are the lack of goals & the decent opertunites that are created, everything seems to be a half chance. Also the defense is a horror show. We need defensive organisation, badly. We need new full backs. The possesion game is all well and good if you can break down a defensive opposition, but we can't and have not been able to do that in years. Pearson gave us a defensive solidarity, Sousa has lost that. On a positive against Cardiff Pearson would have sat back for the 10 minutes, Sousa played like we did before we got the goal & I never felt we were under any danger of losing our lead. We are much better than we are showing, Sousa needs more games, its not too late even after 15/20 games.
ithuriel Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 houdini logic=no brain, see how that works, cretin

Ok minutes You noticed that, Still 720 minutes, which is 12 hours, How is it even comparable to 2 minutes?
shade Posted 25 September 2010 Posted 25 September 2010 Ok minutes You noticed that, Still 720 minutes, which is 10 hours+, How is it even comparable to 2 minutes? fair enough, I just think if people stop and consider it, 8 games, in the scheme of things is nothing. i don't want to drag up alex ferguson, or closer to home, martin oneill, but your naiive if you think a manager can stroll in and it clicks straight away. I'm not a big Sousa fan boy, I just worry about football these days! ok guys answer this, we get someone you want in, they take 5 points from 8 games as well, do we sack them and have our 3rd manager of the season after 16 games, yes or no?
