Ricey Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 I'm glad he's gone but I don't understand why Milan said yesterday that they won't panic and sack him...then a day later he's gone. I just wish Milan would be fooking honest for once! As for O'Neill and Sven, my brain can't take such speculation so I'm blocking it out. We all know it will end up being Dowie.

Alexikokopops Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Why has the thread been moved? This is just a report the other thread was an actual statement from the club saying he has been sacked... This started off as a report, but someone posted the offical statement from the club about half an hour ago ago at the end of the first page. Hence the subtitle of the thread.
cc_star Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 If Hoos is in fact meeting a potential candidate in London I doubt O'Neill would be down there, so it would probably favour Sven. Mercenary Sven would fit in with the mercenary Manderic and the mercenary Thai's.... I wonder what shape we'll be in by the time all of these have fooked off Anyway, anyone could do a better job than Sousa, the most clueless person I've ever seen on the sidelines.

ozleicester Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 OS Official Statement Posted on: Fri 01 Oct 2010 Stowell and Powell to take temporary charge Leicester City has today announced that they will be parting company with manager Paulo Sousa, with immediate effect. Current goalkeeper coach, Mike Stowell and coach Chris Powell, will take temporary dual charge of the first-team for Saturday's match against S****horpe United at the Walkers Stadium. Article continues Advertisement The decision has been taken as a result of the club's poor run of results this season. The club would like to state that Paulo Sousa is a first-class individual, but that this decision has been taken in the best interests of the club and our ambitions to move up the npower Championship. The search for a new manager begins immediately and the Club anticipates a quick appointment.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Am I the only person that feels even a tiny bit sorry for Mr Sousa? I know he didn't do as well as we would have liked but I'm sure he did his best, and he has lost his job (although I appreciate that he won't be hard up as a result). I think it probably is just me
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Why the hell did they wait until the day before a game? Surely straight after the Norwich game would have been better, give some time to settle into the idea. Milan is a grade A knob!

I think it probably is just me I feel sorry for the bloke too, but then again I was never part of the 'Sousa out' masses anyway.

I think it probably is just me I feel the same. He tried to adopt a system that matched his beliefs, unfortunately it was never going to suit our squad or possibly even this division. That was naivety on his part. It only worked at Swansea because it wasn't a millions miles away from Martinez' set-up.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 I'm sure his compensation package will soon wipe away any tears If he's a money robot weeping oily tears, perhaps. He may have other emotions. It's difficult to be sure

ithuriel Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 I am not happy that Sousa failed to deliver, that Mandy has been his usual shambolic self or that Nigel was forced to leave. I always want the best for my local football team so now i'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get a competent, organised and lucky manager
MC Prussian Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Glad Sousa's gone. I believe he'd have done the club a lot more damage than just the five points out of nine games. No real management skills whatsoever and a horrible communication style (mainly down to his poor grasp of English) - he's still living off his reputation as a player. Milan and the Thai consortium will also have to answer questions. Their human management skill is about as bad as Sousa's, if not worse. They let our most successful manager ever leave for Hull City, went for the Big Name instead, got blinded by the Juventus and Dortmund Experience, the Champions League title and so on and failed miserably. I mean, if this misjudgement doesn't open their eyes and let them realize what mistake they've made, there definitely is no saving us and it'll only get worse. I do hope... As for Sousa's successor, please don't let it be Eriksson. That guy is only in for the money and has no real interest in managing a football side any more. Just look at his recent track record: A few weeks here, a couple of months there, etc. etc. Would welcome O'Neill, but I wonder whether he'd want to stick around for a longer period of time, as well. An unsuccessful tenure at this club could seriously damage his current icon-like status. Still, it's a beautiful day. I feel sorry for whatever club that employs Sousa in the near future. His "system" just doesn't work. And I expect a positive response tomorrow against Scünthorpe. Powell and Stowell should be getting the best out of the players now and channel all that frustration into a winning mentality.
Lillehamring Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 oh. well, sånn er livet. i liked paulo, i liked what he believed in footballing wise - we had a chance to be something different under him, and no doubt we'll go back to being a very ordinary 'bunch of battlers' again. i can only imagine, given the rapidity of this, and coming so soon after mandy's quotes about patience, blah blah blah - that, like when pearson went, they suddenly had a 'perfect' replacement, ready to go to work. erikson has a lot to prove as a manager in recent years, question is whether he wants to prove anything or not. o'neill, hmmm, could be a match made in heaven, i can't imagine the foxes board are as bad as the villa board, but never the most exciting football. i'm sure we'll soon see, but i don't foresee any surprises - and expect a handful of defeats over the next few weeks....

Surely straight after the Norwich game would have been better, give some time to settle into the idea. lcfcadam Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 The League Managers Association (LMA) can confirm that Leicester City F.C. has parted company with Paulo Sousa with immediate effect.Paulo Sousa said: “To be sacked after being told that there was a long term strategy at the club and after only nine games in charge is something that I find very surprising.” Richard Bevan, Chief Executive of the LMA said, “How can a chairman expect to deliver success at a football club when a talented manager is recruited and dismissed within 2 months, at the start of the season and is given only nine league games to put his own imprint on the squad and the club? “Knee-jerk dismissals, and the chopping and changing of managers will not deliver success on the field and is incredibly destabilizing to the entire club. Paulo’s sacking is even more disappointing in light of the chairman’s comments on Paulo’s appointment, in the summer, when he stated he was ‘delighted to acquire a manager of such great calibre.’ “Leicester City Football Club has had fourteen managers since 2004 and six whilst the current chairman has been at the club. Clearly the club has to examine its manager recruitment strategy as their current approach does not work. It is damaging to the club and its fans and is an inappropriate way to treat talented managers and their careers.” Now this I agree with.
Christoph Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 So whos gonna manage us for tomorows game, as im assuming sven wont be there by then
ajthefox Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Milan is a fooking joke and sacking Sousa now takes the piss. It annoys me so much that after Cardiffgate and everything that happened with Pearson that Milan, or whoever else might be making the decision, have the cheek to do this. It's a fooking disgrace, not only to Sousa who gets a big payout but more importantly US. I just hate this managerial merry go round so much. it's just bollocks and it's insane that the people at the top think this works. You've just got rid of a quality manager, you install a new one and give him millions of pounds to play with, he brings in half a dozen players and then you tell him to fook off. It makes no sense.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Am I the only one wondering when our Lord Mayor is going to use his public office to make a statement about this?
