I doubt its Sven.

I think its the Mirror playing Chinese Whispers, after hearing a RUMOUR that its him...

But if it is the King of Ikea, atleast we'd be on both the front and back page :giggle:

Well it definitely is him......the Mirror aren't stupid enough to post an article "Sven appointed Leicester boss" if they weren't at least 90% sure. It would be an epic gaffe on their part if he wasn't appointed.

To be honest i'd have liked O'Neill to return but in fairness it was never going to happen as he is destined for bigger and better things. I'll happily take Sven though, without a shadow of a doubt. Wasn't a big fan of his as England manager but his club record is first class at all levels of English and International football having won championships in three European countries and the Uefa cup several times. Despite his extortionate wages I'm positive he'll lead us back to the premier league. Funnily enough I was only reading an article this mornng that said whenever Mandaric issues a vote of confidence the manager almost immediately gets the sack. Well done Mandaric/Top on replacing Paulo the Clown with a proven manager an not some unless reject like Dowie or Brown.

Sven would be good for the club and players. The players need someone with experience and respect. Would always prefer O'Neil but can't really see it happening. No more inexpeirnced managers please Mandy!

I remember a couple of years ago when everywhere reported that we'd signed Jason McAteer, including the OS.

Interesting...

I'm disappointed Paulo was sacked, I am disappointed the players couldn't adapt to his style of play, and I'm disappointed that the Milan axe once again fell so early. Technically we won 4 games in this period including the League cup. What's done is done though, I would have probably cum in my pants had we recruited MON, but I also think you should never go back, anything other than promotion and top 10 finishes would seriously taint his legacy. I also can't see him getting on too well with MM. I would rather leave MON on his pedestal and worship him.

So Sven, former Enlgand manager, won at the highest level and managed some of the best teams in Europe, an exciting prospect and a higher profile manager than we've ever recruited, despite being in the worst position for years (I can't remember us being bottom of the Championship, and top of league 1 is better than bottom of the Championship). Is he the man to drag us out of this mire, will he get the boys fighting for their lives and playing in a suitable manner to get results?

I don't think that Sven has much of a track record with regulation fodder. The good news is he has time and maybe his sheer presence will galvanise the team. I'm always amazed at how the same team can play so much better under a different manager and usually does.

What ever you can say about this season so far at least it's not been dull.

I would settle for Sven but if it ever, ever came out that we didn't try or could have got MON instead (I know it's unlikely) but they decided Sven was a better bet I will never forget it or forgive them for it.

i doubt mon would come back, even if he did id be waiting for man utd/liverpool/england to take him off us, sven might be ok

So..... Who out of the Sousa Out brigade is happy with this?

I don't know why but Sven seems like a disappointment, maybe because my hopes were raised by the thought of an O'Neill return.

Sven is undoubtedly a good manager, but let's be honest he hasn't achieved an awful lot in the past years other than an increasingly large bank balance.

Two things are for sure, it'll create a buzz and it will most certainly won't be dull!
