dandannieldanok Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 If Sven lasts the season it'll be a minor miracle.
Edmund Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Dont think hes done quite as much as Sven in his career though. Don't get me wrong I hold Sven in high regards but I'd rather have MON any day of the week. His love for the club is more than any achievement could ever match. I can only assume you were too young to remember the MON era if you think otherwise
MattyFromLE Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 It's a coup but Sven is hardly known for his long term commitments. I just hope it's Sven because MON turned us down, not that we have turned MON down. Spot on, if we don't get MON through our own initiative, Sven is more than capable!
the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 nothing confirmed on SSN its just breaking news that they a re holding talks!
Fox 4 Life Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 aren't the Mirror something to do with MM, I can't remember the details but heard stories before about them breaking related news first. They were first with the sacking right, or was that the Mail?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Assuming this is true (and they were on the ball with the sacking), I feel like crying
Far Post Gerry Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Would've been nice to have a hungry young manager, who really wants to manage us, than a man 'big name' who's probably more in it for the money. That said, I do rate Sven. Just hope he's in it for the long-term.

Bryn Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Pretty sure I said this same thing about... 3 months ago... but this will end in tears. And in a lot of money being wasted.
FoX4LiFe! Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 So..... Who out of the Sousa Out brigade is happy with this? Not me
Master Fox Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 If i remeber correctly, back in the days under Taylor Sven used to talk very highly about Leicester as a club in the media. And if i'm not mistaken wasn't he then one who got Manchini to come and play for us? If he did, which i think is correct, props to Sven i say.
StanSP Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 God not Sven. Don't think God's interested in us right now.
Callabinho Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Sven can fook off, he will want a fast track back into management, this will deffinately end tits up, I feel sorry for paulo, I don't think any one would have done better due to the interruption of this take over! Dark days ahead.
Bert Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Can someone paste the article please? On my way back from work and my phone won't load the link. Just heard it's very likely.
Alexikokopops Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Can someone paste the article please? On my way back from work and my phone won't load the link. Just heard it's very likely. Sven appointed new Leicester boss Published 11:22 01/10/10 By Alan Nixon Sven Goran Eriksson will make a sensational return to management with Leicester City - after Paulo Sousa was sacked just nine games into the Championship season. The Foxes have decided to go for the former England boss who will take on the challenge despite also agreeing to join Arabian side Al Hilal on a one-year £1.2 million contract. Leicester have already agreed a two-year contract with Eriksson, who is due to start work on Monday - but will have to break the news to the Saudi club that he is not coming. Eriksson has shaken hands on the Al Hilal post and is due to fly to Riyadh once they are out of the Arabian Champions League, but he can walk away and join Leicester. And Leicester approached Eriksson via top agent Pini Zahavi BEFORE axeing Sousa, smoothing the way for the controversial move to go through in the next few days. The veteran Swede is set to commit although he wants thorough talks to be sure about Leicester's plans after falling for Notts County's promises a year ago and eventually leaving the club where he was director of football during a bizarre spell. Leicester are now backed by cash from Thailand and Indonesia and representatives of those groups have singled out Eriksson because of his name and experience. Eriksson also plans to put a staff together to run the club. He will need a coach and back-up team as he is not a 'tracksuit manager.' Sousa has had a rough start to the season with Leicester but was still given little time to succeed. He had been given assurances that he would have a couple of games to turn things round - but club 'fixers' were already talking to potential successors. The axe finally fell yesterday after Sousa met Leicester officials to be told of his fate. Friends say he 'smelled a rat' after hearing of the Eriksson interest and wanted to know about his future. MrSpaM Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 If he's still here at the end of the season, i'll be VERY surprised
Guest Bilo Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Don't think God's interested in us right now. He's held talks according to SSN.
Suffolk_fox Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Jesus! I really didn't want Paulo to go because I could see us ending up with the usual suspects - Old Monkey Head, Pardew, etc - but SVEN??? Yeah, I'm happy with this.... but I hope MM fooks off sharpish, cos I think he has the potential to piss him off...
hairy Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Last I heard (Wednesday morning) the takeover was still not complete. Have I missed something? Could all this backfire on MM?
AaronH Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 at least he knows chrissy p from his england days so lets hope he stays
