Babylon Posted 1 October 2010 Author Posted 1 October 2010 Wait, so have we got him or not? Who knows.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 agreed it seems to be a good appointment. He's a very good manager, and was for us as well (england) But of late he and what with the Notts Co fiasco, I think the circus picture above sums it up well
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Assuming this is true (and they were on the ball with the sacking), I feel like crying Get a (Tord) Grip.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Wait, so have we got him or not? If you read that link to the daily mirror, the headline says we've got him. If you read one of the paragraphs, it says before he commits he wants to talk things through thoroughly. I won't believe who we have til I see him on the touchline. Once again, for the record, I think it'll be Pardew!
ajthefox Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Apart from the issue of how long he would stay and money, I'm impressed. Sven is a decent manager, and was quality for England too really, it's odd so many people don't agree.
Des. Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 SSN just said Sven is looking likely to take over according to their reports
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Milan thought it was all over But it's only just begun Investors with eastern promise From the land of the rising sun Seemed a million miles away And one thing's for sure The talk begins of ‘94 Coz we haven't found the cure Send an S.O.S A clun is in need Sven's the man, he's got a plan We've found that super swede A football club reunited And Leicester comes alive OAP Oakley is our captain And Waghorn makes it 5! We're on the ball (x 8) Blue and white are the colours The whole world in our hands The time has come to kick it Can we kick it? YES WE CAN! Sven's army marching forward Hear the foxes roar We're Leicester forever now altogether We're on the ball We're on the ball (x 8) "Its unbelievable stuff now! Steve Claridge has given Leicester a place in the Premiership" "What do you think of the song Motty?" "Oh fantastic son" "Is it gonna be a hit?" "Yes it is!" It's Wealo to Berner Berner to Hobbsy Rio to Oakley Oakley Wellens Wellens to Kingy Kingy to Dyer Dyer to Fryatt To 5-1! (X 3) " Can i 'ave me ball back please"
Jackirius Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Sorry but this is from the same paper which led us all to beleive that MON would be returning.
Petchy Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 SSN apparently got 'more news' on the Sven story coming up..
Jackirius Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 SSN apparently got 'more news' on the Sven story coming up.. Keep us informed please, im at college.
cc_star Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 BTW Sven wasn't responsible for the Notts County fiasco, he was the front man for the money men who turned up without any money, so he left. His results in club management (won the league in 3 countries, took Man city near the top of the Prem before the Arab money came in, took Notts County to the top of their league) not forgetting his England achievements which apart from Alf Ramsey and Sir Bobby haven't been bettered... Capello has proved how good those over-rated players are, we'd have given a limb to look like qualifying for the qtr finals this year. Sven's on the pitch results speak for themselves
Guest Bilo Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 People seem to be slagging Sven off as a mercenary because of his association with Notts County, but he was promised the earth and the opportunity to take the world's oldest league club to the Premier League. The respect he'd have earned if he had pulled that off would have been huge. Then Munto Finance pulled out and left him high and dry. Eriksson was the victim there so far as I can see so while his decision to join a newly moneyed fourth tier club seems questionable, the fall-out and subsequent exit were beyond his control. His record in club football speaks for itself and was the reason behind his controversial appointment as England manager. As England manager, he achieved far more with the same bunch of players than either McClaren or Capello have since. A quarter-final exit on penalties after dominating Portugal for long periods with 10 men and no strikers is something so far beyond England under Capello it's not even funny. He did an excellent job at Manchester City before being sacked by an insane chairman, a decision that upset the players so much they effectively went on strike and got stuffed 8-1 by Boro. Up to that point, he had achieved success with a frankly average bunch of players. So Serie A winner, UEFA CWC winner, Portuguese Liga winner and a manager who has worked with some of the world's most talented players in the past 5 years and some of our fans are disappointed with his impending appointment. Unbelievable. Considering we were talking about managers like Pardew and Curbishley as though they were out of our league last week, this is even more shocking. I'm a bit disappointed it isn't MON granted but disappointed with what looks for all the world like a genuinely world class manager at the helm. Not in a million years.

Jackirius Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 I think he is a top manager, you have to be to manage england. He has a good record and builds a good relationship with the players. He has international recognition and will build the clubs reputation. A good signing i think. Lets just hope he doesnt end up as another sousa.
ozleicester Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 teehee.... quote BBC Leicester..... Join us after 5.... "Sousa has parted company with leicester, so who is next for the hot seat?.... a man convicted of child sex offences over 20 years..." Perhaps a slightly bigger pause between the 2 stories might be appropriate
Far Post Gerry Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 By the way, Sven was appointed by Thaksin Shinawatra at Man City, right? Now our mysterious Asian consortium appoints Sven. Coincidence?
beemeroo Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 By the way, Sven was appointed by Thaksin Shinawatra at Man City, right? Now our mysterious Asian consortium appoints Sven. Coincidence? Yes.
FrankieADZ Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 just seen a tweet from Stringer saying: Sven is on his way to the training ground #LCFC - welllllll. Hope not
Kent Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Yeah you're probably right. Haha have second thoughts about that theory?
Babylon Posted 1 October 2010 Author Posted 1 October 2010 Stringer "Sven on his way to training ground".
cc_star Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Our Asian consortium is opposed to Thaksin Shinawatra's ex-government so yes it is a coincidence Stringer "Sven on his way to training ground". bullshit, according to SSN, Hoos is meeting him and his representatives in London
Corky Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Sven's got a very respectable track record as a club manager. His international time with England was hardly a disaster too. I wouldn't be against this.
Jackirius Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Yeah you're probably right. Hmmm maybe not, if you have a look at the back grounds of the new owners they are Right wing polititions which i also beleive Tha Sin (duno how to spell his name) was and have previously been involved in his political partys. I beleive he would probably be interested in getting back into English football but needs to sort out the political crisis in their country first and doesnt want to be recognised in the take over of leicester. Just a theory...
cc_star Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 King speaking on SSN, hardly stood up for Sousa... I got the impression he was pleased
