How much do you think that ticket prices has affected our attendences this season?

I've never been a season ticket holder as I've never had a few hundred quid to spare at the appropriate time. I have often been a member, but even that has gone up and the advatanges of being one have lessened. So I don't get to every home game - to be fair I'm lucky to get to about 1/4 of them and even if tickets were cheap as dirt I still wouldn't get to every game cos of work, but I'd come to a lot more.

Having said that, dirt cheap is unrealistic, but it's not so long ago that several games a season could be attended for £20 or less. Often City would get larger attendances for those matches despite being against poor quality opposition (and it could be argued that for mush of this season, it's US who were the poor quality opposition! :P )

Surely it's better to have 32,000 paying £20 each and getting behind the team, than 20,000 people paying £28 each echoing around the ground?

This thread is in response to the "expanding the stadium" thread. Myself I do believe that price is a major factor, especially with everyone having to tighten their belts, but with lower ticket prices we would fill the Singha  on a regular basis.

As i don't sit in the stands (as I'm in a corporate box) it doesn't bother me how much the ticket prices are. But every time i ask someoneabout the ticket prices they have to pay, they generally say it is ridiculously high so i wish it was lower to attract more fans in as well as NOISE

Price is fair, I think my season ticket works out to about £13 a game, I've not been down for a year or two but when I went to see Nuneaton or Hinckley play last it was £10 to get in there, £3 extra to see Leicester, not much really.

Edit - Worked it out, It works out £16 a game for me, Still £6 extra, I'm willing to pay that.

Edit Edit - Might have worked out as £13 actually, I worked it out on the price now, but I bought on the early bird scheme so not sure, i'll settle with £13, makes it sound even better value.

When i mentioned this issue on here once, i got no sympathy and was advised to get a ST. Being from York, it is hard to get to every home game but i still ended up getting one in the end because the prices can be ridiculous for 'platinum' games and they would be the ones i would go to if i had to pick and choose my games. It just means i have to miss every night game at the Walkers and unfortunately i get nothing back for that. The thing that did it for me is that, if i am correct, for 'platinum' games it will cost a 12 year old £18 which i think is disgusting.

Personally I think season tickets are a very fair price and don't get me wrong there should definitely be an incentive to committing a lot of money up front when you have no idea how the season is going to pan out. Having said that, a match day price is almost always double if not more than a ST equivalent.

When I left for uni I put an end to the 10 or so continuous years of STs. In the end, each year I paid the equivalent of maybe 2 season tickets. Fair enough that's my own fault as I had the options, but when you're not living near the city or work during match days its just impossible to know how many games you can get to. Who in there right mind would pay up a couple of hundred pounds when sods law is they'll only make 2 or 3 games? I think there could be some kind of loyalty system in place to bring down the prices when you go to X amount of games, or some tier system. That's probably way too complicated to expect from the club, but might get a lot more people down when they can.

I agree with you. Season tickets are a fair price. Match ticket prices are scandelous.

A tier system would be a good idea....all it takes is a decent database.

Cannot afford to commit to an ST at the moment... 28 quid to see yesterdays game meant i didnt go. i have to pick and choose carefully...if i could get in for around 20... different story

If I didn't have a season ticket I don't think I'd ever go.

My season ticket just about provides good value, but if it was much more than it is now I'd be thinking long and hard about that commitment. Given the price that some Premier League clubs charge for STs, I do worry a bit that if we're ever as successful as our owners and a lot of our fanbase would like us to be, that even season ticket prices will reach a level where I just don't think it's worth the money

Im caught between the rock and the hard place, living near cambridge,i struggle to get to midweek games, and i also cant commit to every sat game.I know there are alot of fans who do commit and travel further than myself, but once you have added the 200 mile(ish) trip and having to travel on my own, thats a £100 day with the ticket .i dont earn a bad wage at all,but i cant afford that week in ,week out so pick my games im afraid.A few quid off a match day ticket therefore, wont make a difference.

I think the ST prices are fair, however for anyone who doesn't have a season ticket and wants to go to home matches, its a rip-off.

away games (for me anyway) are fair, 26 quid isn't a problem for me so I go to almost every away game unless I have something on on a Saturday/Tuesday (cause I cant get time out of 6th Form.)

all in all the prices are fair, at least for me anyways.

Of course it's better. However how do we know that 32,000 people would turn up if prices were £20? You'd need to attract a minimum of 28,000 paying £20 to get the same return as 20,000 paying £28. That's a heck of a gamble.

For me as a 15yr old, I try to get to as many games as I can (using money I've saved). I suppose £10 is a fair price for u18, but for the platinum games £18 is absolutely shocking. It may be Leicester v Forest, or Leicester v Derby but it's still only the Championship, and the quality isn't top class. I think they should do more offers, chances to get cheaper tickets.

As for Adult tickets, the average price for Gold Games is around £27-28. This is expensive imo, especially to watch games like City v S****horpe, or Barnsley.

If I had no had an early bird discount this year I would have thought twice about it.

regardless of if they hold the prices next season current season ticket holders are in for a big hike for next season. after the early bird discounts the price went up by about £70 in the Kop to £410 which is what a 20% rise. If you didn't renew you would be paying £18.00 a game as a season ticket holder. It could will soon hit the £20 a match for a season ticket holder at which point I will seriously have to think twice.

I think £20 is a fair price for a match ticket but for a season ticket is heading seriously in the wrong direction.

Even if the prices are held next season, although the Thais will want to get some investment back prices are going to get dearer and dearer in a short space of time

And me. I've been fortunate to have been a ST holder for about 20 years and if I couldn't afford to pay out up front I doubt I'd have attended more than 15 to 20 games in that time. The differential is way, way too much.

Mine works out at £5.43 a game, purchased mine during Early Bird. (Under 18's 125 quid)

Pretty decent price tbh

It already been said, ST price per match reasonable, match day ticket rip off. If there wasn't such a difference in prices though would anyone bother with a season ticket?

Yes because it saves you a lot of hassle in not only getting tickets for each game but also have sufficient loose cash, not a card to pay for them. It's a pain buying away tickets from LCFC without duplicating it for home games.

Yeah but wouldn't you pick your matches? Couldn't we all think of something better to do than watch say Barnsley on a freezing cold Tuesday night?

For me I feel that a Season Ticket represents fair value for money. For people who buy individual tickets I understand that it is very expensive. The club face a difficult decision at the start of every season. If they lower the price for individual tickets then how many season ticket holders would be tempted to just attend 10 or so matches a season? For me personally, I wouldn't bother with any games which are on the TV and I probabley wouldn't bother with the midweek games. As an example of this, how many season ticket holders didn't bother going on Tuesday night when tickets were only a tenner? I didn't for one!!!

I reckon that if tickets were £20 per game then I would go to around 14 home games per season and this would work out to be cheaper than my current season ticket - so I reckon that £25 per game is about right.
