poor DV, i can imagine him reading this and breaking down! :(

Breaking down injured? think our sights have risen a bit higher than him now wouldn't get in ahead of Fryatt or Waghorn.

Been playing in Turkey since Man City released him, has not found a club since lack of fitness and around 30 now. Good player once, but I think NOW we need to be aiming higher.

Was he? A 1 in 5 striker for me isn't good and could never understand why he used to get regular England call ups.

Anyway, nonsense story and I'd play any of our current strikers and Lee Hoos ahead of him.

Darious Vassell... Never heard of a Darious Vassell but Darius Vassell is a decent player which i doubt highly would come to Leicester.

So Oliver Kay from the Times retweeeted the following on Twitter "Remember Darius Vassell? Former Villa striker, played a lot for England under Sven? He's on trial at Leicester, should sign this week #LCFC"

IS THIS TRUE!!?!?!?!?!?!

Am I correct in saying he has spent some time as a winger? If so might be useful to have around (more pace to inject),

I don't see what the problem with this is? He'll not cost us a transfer fee. We have to trust Svennis, it's sometimes better the devil you know and as he's worked with him for England and Man City then he'll be confident he can get something out of him here. He should by rights still have enough left in the tank to be decent at this level.

i think he'd be good, a mature head and as said above, add much needed pace on the wing (i.e. needed when Dyer isnt playing, before anyone starts having a go). be great to have him and Dyer running rings around the defence down both sides. hope its true! a contract till the end of the season for starters would do.

Whats the point in getting a really unfit striker to play in our really unfit team?

The only person that'll benefit from this is Darius Vassell.

How do you know how fit he is? He is pretty injury prone, but for all we know he could be in better condition than the rest of our squad,

Depends if the "really unfit striker" is better than the other "really unfit strikers" we currently have.

If it's a trial then they get to have a look if he still has anything to offer.

You won't see that again until Easter, it's his MO to go missing between mid September and mid/late March.

He hasn't played at this level before so for all we know could be fairly handy. Would be more useful than Howard anyway.

From Stringer's twitter "More Vassell news - its my understanding Darius Vassell WILL sign a permanent contract with Leicester City in the coming days, 1/2 year"

I suppose if it's mostly as back up then it could be quite a decent signing. I guess it would be. Still need a main striker though.

If the Hull game showed us anything it's that when we're suffering from a few knocks across the squad we look severely limited in wide and forward options.

He'll cost us roughly dick all and if he's still got half a yard of pace and the confidence to run at people then he'll be a decent squad member. Can't see Sven being daft enough to drop any of our better players for him so no danger there.
