The Padster Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Wasn't he with us when he was a school boy? and we let him go because the manager at the time didn't think he would make it? Is there an echo in here?
Jimmy Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Wasn't he with us when he was a school boy? and we let him go because the manager at the time didn't think he would make it? unless he signed YTS forms he could leave of his own accord, he did and went to Coventry
Philbert Fox Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 He chose those scumbags over us???!!!! I've changed my mind! send him back to Wigan! :-P
Jackirius Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 OS baby!! Yep, just seen this on FB. Kirkland Joins City On LoanPosted on: Thu 25 Nov 2010 Leicester City has today announced the loan signing of Chris Kirkland from Premier League side, Wigan Athletic. The 29-year-old shot stopper will be available to face local rivals, Nottingham Forest, in Monday night's npower Championship clash at the Walkers Stadium. City boss, Sven-Goran Eriksson, beat the loan transfer deadline today, to make Kirkland his sixth capture since joining the Foxes as manager. The Barwell-born keeper will be at the Walkers Stadium until January. Kirkland started out at near neighbours, Coventry City, before joining Liverpool, in a move that saw him play his part in the Merseysiders' run to Champions League glory. The talented keeper then joined West Bromwich Albion on loan, before a loan spell at Wigan Athletic and an eventual permanent move to Lancashire. Kirkland has represented England at under-21 level and also achieved senior international honours, playing against Greece in a friendly in 2006. Already, over 1,500 additional tickets have been purchased through the Friends and Family offer as Season Ticket Holders snap tickets for the Nottingham Forest match

Bugg Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Bert, any news on this 'other' signing that stringer tweeted we might be after? Any idea who it might be? Names banded around include: Mark Davies Guidetti Cheers No it hasn't. People just see him as some sort of hero after playing about 5 games for us and all want him to come back and single handedly get us promoted.
wattolcfc Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 No it hasn't. People just see him as some sort of hero after playing about 5 games for us and all want him to come back and single handedly get us promoted. Yes it has, it was mentioned on Talksport.. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/football-league/2954/9/leicester-lining-move-boltons-davies Leicester City are monitoring Mark Davies' situation at Bolton. The midfielder has made nine Premier League appearances for Owen Coyle's side, all coming from the substitute's bench, culminating in just 94 minutes of action. At 22 the former Wolves man could be lured away from The Reebok stadium with the promise of more first-team football and the opportunity to work under Sven Goran Eriksson. City would have to pay Bolton upwards of £1.5m for Davies, who spent a month at The Walkers Stadium in 2008 while on loan from Wolves. Davies has had the early years of his career severely hampered by Achilles tendon and shoulder injuries resulting in just 70 league appearances since making his debut for Wolves in 2005. Thank you and goodnight
Fox92 Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 I have dreamed of this day. Hope we can sign him. Think he is a great goalkeeper, just riddled with injuries.
wattolcfc Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 I have dreamed of this day. Hope we can sign him. Think he is a great goalkeeper, just riddled with injuries. You have dreamed of this day? Are you a psycho stalker? Are you looking forward to pressing your face up against his bedroom window at 3am and watching him sleep? I'm actually now worried for the lads safety! Quick call the old bill!
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Sven's obviously sick of the Physio's playing cards all day then.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 You have dreamed of this day? Are you a psycho stalker? Are you looking forward to pressing your face up against his bedroom window at 3am and watching him sleep? I'm actually now worried for the lads safety! Quick call the old bill! Indeed. I'll be looking out for the "I LOVE YOU CHRIS! XXX" banner at the Forest game.
Jackirius Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Just seen this on the Lcfc Facebook Page. Ben Marvin Went school with Chris, snogged his sister at a school disco. Barwell Boy! Welcome home Quality claim to fame.
wattolcfc Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Indeed. I'll be looking out for the "I LOVE YOU CHRIS! XXX" banner at the Forest game. what about the 'I WANT YOUR BABIES CHRIS' banner?
Ric Flair Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Just seen this on the Lcfc Facebook Page. Ben Marvin Went school with Chris, snogged his sister at a school disco. Barwell Boy! Welcome home Quality claim to fame. Haha, I know Ben Marvin. Brilliant.
The Padster Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Usual lazy journalism from the Mercury. Leicester City have announced that they have signed Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland on loan from Wigan.
MC Prussian Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 100% win record as an England keeper & no goals conceded on an international level. Can't say the same about a lot of other figures out there.
Webbo Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Usual lazy journalism from the Mercury. Why is that lazy?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Usual lazy journalism from the Mercury. Why is that lazy? It's poor, but not lazy. I mean, he had to type Wigan twice in one sentence when once was enough. That's going the extra yard! Where's he from again?
Philbert Fox Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Lets just hope we don't see similar shocking displays like when he played against Blackpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Ric Flair Posted 25 November 2010 Posted 25 November 2010 Lets just hope we don't see similar shocking displays like when he played against Blackpool and Tottenham Hotspur. Let's hope Dan Petrescu doesn't watch him keep a clean sheet and sign him for the Chernobyl Old Boys or whoever he manages.
The Doctor Posted 26 November 2010 Posted 26 November 2010 Let's hope Dan Petrescu doesn't watch him keep a clean sheet and sign him for the Chernobyl Old Boys or whoever he manages. when their current keeper is part spider (the arachnid not the aussie) and so has eight arms. Why would they sign kirkland? what? Too soon? edit: spiders are arachnids, not insects you fool.
