Dylan Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 After a disappointing 3-0 loss to Ipswich in poor conditions, we face Leeds who are in great form- currently 2nd in the table. Our performance was poor against Ipswich, but we couldn't play our new style of passing football in those conditions so hopefully it'll be back to our great home form on Boxing Day. Leeds are unbeaten in 9 games, winning their last 3 including an impressive victory against top-of-the-table QPR, and a turnaround against Burnley away. Max Gradel will most likely start in his return to the Walkers- after a brace against QPR. I expect some changes due to injury. Not sure on the extent of Davies/Vitor/Gallagher's injuries, but if their unfit for Sunday, I'd bring in Hobbs, and Morrison if needed. If Gallagher's injured, I'd bring in Waghorn/Fryatt to play central with Vassell on the left. Howard should start on the bench to come on in the last 20 minutes to score the winner He's great against Leeds but doesn't work hard enough to close down defenders whereas someone like Waghorn will run and pressure defenders. Assuming conditions are normal, I expect a return to our brilliant home form and think we'll win this. My prediction: Leicester City 2-1 Leeds United (King, Howard; Gradel)
z-layrex Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Well they really owe us one now so i'm very worried, but at least we're their bogey team. Who knows really.
Guest ttfn Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 I'd like to see: Kirkland Naughton Hobbs Davies Berner Abe Wellens King Dyer Vassell Waghorn But I don't think that's likely...
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Think we will either do well, or not so well. Cant see it being a draw personally, though expect a good game, and Leeds havent got agreat record against us in recent years, whilst we have already beaten them twice this season. Not sure about the team, but here goes: Kirkland (poor against Ipswich but would be unfair to judge him solely on that game) Naughton Davies Hobbs/Vitor (depending on injury, though dont think it really matters) Berner Abe King Wellens Vassell Howard Dyer Subs: Weale, Fryatt, Bednar, Gallagher, Oakley, Hobbs/Vitor, Cunningham
dannythefox Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 Would love us to win 2-0 but they are due a win against us so will see what happens.
Tewy5 Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 3 1 to the city boys we never lose to dirty leeds
I am Rod Hull Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 We will win... 3-1 maybe but we will win..
Daggers Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 1-3 We will win... 3-1 maybe but we will win.. Hmm...both seem quite plausible but how can we choose?
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 December 2010 Posted 19 December 2010 After predicting Leicester would win 2-1 away at ipswich im going to prdeict Leeds Will beat Leicester 3-0
Socks Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 If we dont come out in the 1st half and play them off the park then Leeds will batter us. Its no good just doing it in the 2nd half We need to do it in both, consistently. If we do we will win. If we play like we did against Donnie and Ipswich in the 1st half then we will get battered. Its up to Sven to fire them up and personally I dont think hes the man for us.
Lisburn Fox Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 After watching us this season I can confidently predict that we will win or draw but we could lose, it will be a good game maybe, full of good passing long ball tactics. We should start off 4.3.3 or 4.4.2 or 4.5.1 or 4.1.2.1.2 because thats the sort of team we are at the mo.
MC Prussian Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 We'll win this 10-0, only to lose 20-0 to Millwall. Why? Because it's Leicester.
Callabinho Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Players will be hurt and angry from the ipswich game, January is arriving fast so the players will be playing for their places, and on a normal premier league standard pitch what we did to Doncaster was there for all to see...I'm not counting the ipswich game, trying to pass on snow is impossible. I think the players will be up for this big time! Kirkland Naughton Davies (Hobbs) Vitor Cunningham Abe Wellens Kingy Dyer Vassell Gallagher (Waghorn).
Finnegan Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Surely any bet other than a Howard late winner is a wasted bet.
buzzy Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 why do some of you feel leeds will batter us .this is the same leeds team we have beaten twice and the same team who lost 6 4 to preston. we always do well against teams near the top keep the faith
Adster Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 why do some of you feel leeds will batter us .this is the same leeds team we have beaten twice and the same team who lost 6 4 to preston. we always do well against teams near the top keep the faith Apart from Swansea and Qpr?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 Typical Leicester to lose again the not so good, and then beat the better in form teams. 2-1 win, Gallagher and Abe.
Father Ted Posted 20 December 2010 Posted 20 December 2010 2-1 to Leicester. Kirkland Naughton Davies Vitor CunninghamWellens AbeGallagher King DyerVassell This is the team assuming none of the above are injured Hobbs in for any of the injured centre-backs. Waghorn in for Gallagher if he's injured.
LUFC_AL Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 why do some of you feel leeds will batter us .this is the same leeds team we have beaten twice and the same team who lost 6 4 to preston. we always do well against teams near the top keep the faith Just to let you know mate that it isn't the same team or same formation we played against you before. Team last time: Brown, Connolly, Naylor, Collins, McCartney, Snodgrass (Gradel 70), Faye (Kilkenny 70), Howson, Watt (Johnson 30), Somma, Becchio. Possible team this time: Schmeichel, Connolly, O'Brien, Bruce, McCartney, Gradel, Kilkenny, Johnson, Howson, Snodgrass, Becchio Add that to the fact Howson, Gradel and Becchio are in brilliant form and you are playing a very different side. Looking forward to a good boxing day and a good day out. Merry Christmas to you all
ajthefox Posted 22 December 2010 Posted 22 December 2010 I'd be surprised if we did Leeds 3 times in one season, especially with their current form. Score draw I rekon, Gradel to score or at least play a massive part in a crucial goal.
