They would have to at least treble the 1.3Mill surely?? 1.3 wouldn't buy his left elbow as far as I'm concerned. Who the **** are we meant to get in as a replacement with a measely 1.3 million quid?

If they won't pay £2.5/£3m for Adam they won't pay that for Wellens.

My only comment on this at the moment is that we do not have the right balance yet in midfield, we are also short of quality. Wellens is playing better now than ever before, Yuki I think is the most versatile player we have, who could continue where he is, or play Wellens or King's roles as well. Kingy has been below par lately, but we do not have anybody else, unless Bamba comes in as a defensive midfielder when we have more options at centre half. I will just say this, something will happen as regards our midfield before the end of the month. I do not think that Sven wants Wellens to go, but I do think he will do the right thing for whatever circumstances arise.

Controversial but I'd rather someone bought King than Wellens.

I have to say, I think Abe can play the mopping up role at the back (needs a tad more defensive awareness from midfields making a late run into our box) or more of an attacking role - we've seen a couple of glimpses in recent games and I think it would be good if he was on the edge of the opposition box more often. Wellens is doing great job bossing the midfield, perhaps not the world beater than some unrealistic expectations seem to want, but doing a damn good job of short & long passes all the same. Our side's recent upturn in performances & results has seen King contribute next to nothing and is looking like the most expendable player in the middle at the moment, although he has fantastic talent so I don't think anyone should be going.

We have to start a "there's only one ritchie wellens" song on sat, failing that we need to somehow get that video off youtube playing constantly on the scoreboard so he can see it

Wellens is the glue that holds it all together.

Most important and best player of the season so far for me now that Dyer plays less.

To lose him would be very foolish, in my opinion.

The more I think about this the less likely it seems that Sven will let Wellens go. We don't need the money and I'm sure that both Sven and the owners are well aware that we would have to fork out way more than Birmingham are ever likely to offer if we wanted to find a replacement of a similar standard. We are supposed to be aspirational and all our other transfer dealings support that claim but this one would contradict it in a big way. If Richie wants to go play Premier League football then I have no problem with that but he can go at the end of the season, if indeed the likes of Birmingham and Wigan are still there by then and we aren't. I would be so pissed off if we lost him to a sh1thole like Wigan!

McLeish can **** off if he's after him for £1.3 million and as for Wigan your **** shit so he surely rather stay here. Really can't afford to lose him!

Really cannot afford to lose Wellens, I'd go as far as to say he's out best player tbh.

Yeah i'd agree with that, major cog in our machine

I'm a tad worried he could leave.... Think he's fishing for a new contract. Make of that what you will because that's all i'm saying.
