muzzy1981 Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 They are both smaller clubs than us, yes we are in the champ but we are going up! Come on Leicester. Lets let Richie know on saturday!!
hackneyfox Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 Wellens was taken off before he was sent off.
nickelbyfox Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 1.3 is a tad to little, but he is thirty years old and would be quite harsh to prevent him a chance of playing in the premier league
marbelladave Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 My only comment on this at the moment is that we do not have the right balance yet in midfield, we are also short of quality. Wellens is playing better now than ever before, Yuki I think is the most versatile player we have, who could continue where he is, or play Wellens or King's roles as well. Kingy has been below par lately, but we do not have anybody else, unless Bamba comes in as a defensive midfielder when we have more options at centre half. I will just say this, something will happen as regards our midfield before the end of the month. I do not think that Sven wants Wellens to go, but I do think he will do the right thing for whatever circumstances arise. Controversial but I'd rather someone bought King than Wellens. I've been saying for some time that our midfield needs a serious shake up, what's that saying about omelettes and eggs?... Of the two I would let Wellens go and keep King, primarily because King is still young and improving, Wellens is already at his peak, not a lot in it though. Bamba in midfield could be really interesting, a towering physical presence, comfortable on the ball too. Not for the faint hearted...

Guest BlueBrett Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 Bamba in midfield could be really interesting, a towering physical presence, comfortable on the ball too. Not for the faint hearted... He might be comfortable on it but that doesn't mean he's good on it. Every touch he has sends the ball about 5 yards out in front of him! Similar criticism could be levelled at Yaya though I suppose and I guess it doesnt really matter if it takes the ball past a player and he is rangey and quick enough to beat them to it.

Besides, moving Bamba up just leaves a hole at centre back. If Wellen's goes, Sven will have to find a like-for-like replacement, not easy with the transfer window closing soon.

Not for one instant suggesting King or Bamba as playmakers, thats just silly, someone to take on the playmaker role would be a gimme. When suggesting moving Bamba into midfield I nearly said that it could only be done if we had the back 4 sorted, but it was so obvious I didn't bother...
The Doctor Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 I'm sure he loves you too. tbf mcleish is a ****. Deserting the national team to go to birmingham? Who could possibly be that retarded? I only hate kenny miller more than mcleish in terms of scottish football and thats because miller is fooking judas - from celtic to rangers (via derby) - unforgivable.

ScouseFox Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 This can't happen, I've only just realised how important he is
Simmo86 Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 Wellens is far better/more important than Abe. Not really, Yuki is Wellens and Kingy's insurance policy to play further upfield and influence the game. Yuki gives them a platform to play, take him away they both have to take on more defensive responsibilities!
superfox1980 Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 Really hope Wellens doesn't go for a bumper payout and sees that we're club on the up with finances to stay in the premier league and compete. Joining clubs like Brum or Wigan is surely a backwards step. Wigan are likely to go down this season and Brum are in grave danger too although I think they'll be ok. If he goes I can see it turning into the David Connelly to Wigan transfer whereby he moves and then you don't hear of him for two years until he moves again.

It'd be harder to replace Wellens than Abe.

IMO each one out of the three in centre midlfield is important as the other. Each one brings different qualities into the team. Which due to lack of backup is very hard to replace. Dont want Wellens to leave because he's been brilliant recently just hope he can keep it up. Also if Wellens had played the through ball that Yuki played to Dyer on Tuesday, the wankathon would still be going strong now!
Tommy G Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 If he goes we should try and loan Gibson or someone similar. If he goes we can wave goodbye to any promotion
Simmo86 Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 If he goes we should try and loan Gibson or someone similar. If he goes we can wave goodbye to any promotion Depends who replaces him, Sven wouldnt let him leave without having a similar level of player waiting to come in.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 Just watched that video again hahahahahaolytjn dfas df b gfn fgn!!!. SAVE THE WELLENS.
Walshy5 Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 He,s leaving next week. If he dont play saturday it wont be because he,s injured. Sorry to report this people but according to my source which id say is 95% accurate we could,ve seen the last of wellens in a city shirt!

Lester LXXIV Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 If he goes, I'd like David Norris from Ipswich. His contract's up the end of the season and he's a good player!
cc_star Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 No one makes as many passes as Wellens, he is a principle reason for us being a passing side plus the short & long passes he makes means we're retaining possession. He will be a big miss, and maybe a fatal loss for our club. He's obviously a way, way different class, but he's our version of Xavi and just as important to our current passing & possession game.
Callabinho Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 Pay him 50k a week! As long as it keeps him here! we need him, if he goes it's oakley for cm.....
