Len Finsbury Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 So with a coaching position available, perhaps one of Sven's buddies will come to help him out.... .... Enter one P. Taylor.
Houdini Logic Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 One things for sure - his win ratio will never be as good as it was for Leicester
kylestyle06 Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 legend. always had a laugh with the fans at away games
MikeyT Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Gutted to see him leave. Absolutely brilliant bloke and a real gentleman. All the best to him for the future. Always welcome back here anytime.
ScouseFox Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Top bloke, seems a proper gent. Good luck to him,
Finnegan Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Best of luck to him. I really, really hope the guy does well. Fantastic bloke.
BigBawsFaeTheShaws Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 So with a coaching position available, perhaps one of Sven's buddies will come to help him out.... .... Enter one P. Taylor. Ray Wilkins?
Guest Bilo Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Best of luck Chris, can't blame him one bit for going to a club where he's adored. I was rather hoping he'd stay here for a bit and learn his trade under Sven but he'd have been mad to turn this opportunity down.
MC Prussian Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 I think Charlton and Powell are making the right decision. Browsing through some of the Charlton fans' comments, you can see that re-signing a legend like Chrissy P is a way in the right direction - not just for that particular football club, but in a way for football in general. He's got long-lasting ties with the club, has a great attitude and is to win back those Athletic fans that were driven away from The Valley due to an increasing inhuman managing policy in the past few years, when the fans could no longer identify themselves with the way the club was run. Yes, he might lack enough managerial experience, but he knows his shit. I wish him well and all the best with Charlton - just don't do a Dalglish, please. The only odd element in this saga that I can detect is the sacking of Parkinson. Charlton have been a very tough team to crack down, they lie in 6th, not too far off the automatic promotion places. Surely the team must have been implementing their manager's tactics to get this far. And yet he's kicked out of the office...
Haydos Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Good luck Chrissy P Think it would have been beneficial for him if he had worked under Sven for longer, was a great opportunity for him to learn the ins and outs. I'm sure he'll be a great addition for them though.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 I'd hoped that he would have become the successor to Sven. But he is a great man, and I wish him well in all he does.
FoxyPV Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Sad that he's decided to leave but all the best to him in the future ( except of course against us)
Marmite Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Lets hope he takes that tosser Logan with him, I think he is the only bloke who likes him, all the best Chris Powell you will always be a Leicester Legend
Stevosevic Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Lets hope he takes that tosser Logan with him, I think he is the only bloke who likes him, all the best Chris Powell you will always be a Leicester Legend Bit harsh. Just because Logan isn't the best keeper we've had it doesn't make him a tosser.
harryboi72 Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 absolutely loved chris powell but he has made his choice and i hope for the best for him cuz hes a class man and deserves the best charlton have a great manager in powell and i just wish we could have kept him
Jaspa Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Its a big loss for the club at the mo, but im sure Sven already has sumone lined up to replace him. And also it could meen Chrissy might take a few of our fringe players like Moussa on loan, which could help us long term.
lcfc_amie Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Good luck Chris! I'm sad to see him go, he's a great guy! Who's going to take the penalties before the game now?
TheUltimateWinner Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Tbh if you see logan at his best he is pretty beast... Just needs abit more experince under his belt thats all! Good luck Chris! I'm sad to see him go, he's a great guy! Who's going to take the penalties before the game now? Kermorgant.
BoneDog Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 It's a shame to see Powell leave but good luck to the bloke. Bit gutted really. I hope he goes on to do great things as a manager, seems like a real sound chap.
Pegosteve Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Good luck to Chris , he is Mr Charlton and could not turn it down.
MrSpaM Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 The Charlton FC fan site gave my computer a virus Avoid charltonlife.com
North-LondonFox Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Good luck to Chris , he is Mr Charlton and could not turn it down. Yeah - really gutted for him but hope it goes well. He seemed like a top bloke
Raj Posted 13 January 2011 Posted 13 January 2011 Hope he is sucessfull and good luck to him. Seems like a dying breed of footballers who commands respect and keeps away from the front pages for drinking, womanising and generally being a ****,like most footballers are. (Yes i am generalising!) Top man
