One Arm Babba Posted 22 January 2011 Posted 22 January 2011 I'm fairly pissed Just got a little emotional thinking about what LCFC means to me. I live in Ireland and my brother lives in Denmark, both of us are "Die Hard" Leicester fans that unfortunately probably only get to see each other once a year due to lack of funds etc etc.... However, We are both headed to England for February 19th to see us play Bristol City at the Walkers. What I'm trying to say is..... Leicester is a strong common denominator for us, If it wasn't for City playing at home that weekend we wouldn't be meeting up. What i am or at least trying to say..... Is that every one of us chose to support OUR team, that may or may not be deemed "unfashionable" by most others. BUT, I am proud of my roots and more so of MY club and will never change my opinion that we all support the best club in the world. We've had our highs, we've had our lows and god knows we'll have a million more.... But, I wouldn't change 1 second. God I'm pissed..... (obviously unsociable too tonight)
Leicester_Loyal Posted 22 January 2011 Posted 22 January 2011 I want to move to America, but the one thing that I don't want to miss out on is the football down at the walkers.
StanSP Posted 22 January 2011 Posted 22 January 2011 The most sensible thing a 'pissed' man has ever said!
Kitchandro Posted 22 January 2011 Posted 22 January 2011 I've always found a drunk man talks the most sense

MPH Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 I want to move to America, but the one thing that I don't want to miss out on is the football down at the walkers. i have seen more live city games this season ( four) since moving to the states than in the previous few years of living in England!
Alexikokopops Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 i have seen more live city games this season ( four) since moving to the states than in the previous few years of living in England! I've only seen two and I only live in London! I've seen as many Charlton games this season (though only one at the Valley, and none with the Charlton fans).
ajthefox Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 I want to move to America, but the one thing that I don't want to miss out on is the football down at the walkers. This is the biggest reason I don't want to move too far away later in live either! At the minute I'll go to every game I can finance allowing and I can't imagine not going down every couple of weeks or so, it's worse than fvckin drugs!
z-layrex Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 bless ya. I hope you drank a pint of water before going to bed. I drunk post way too often, usually end up sounding like an a**hole and pissing someone off...
Les-TA-Jon Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 I'm 21 today - i went to the match - I'm a bit drunk too to be honest We're not the best team in the world - not by a long shot But isn't that the whole point? We're all supporting our local team cos it's our local team? Unfortunately it doesn't happen to be arsenal or man u or any other "Great" team/ we're not glory seekers. We've chose to support LCFC because they're our local team. We'd be supporting them if they were in the blue Square.

Earlydoorsjones Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 I met a bloke once in pen 2 down at Filbert Street who had no connection with the city but supported Leicester from Barnsley. He said that there was just something about the Club that was very real. It is not a fashionable Club but that is why it is so good to support - and wouldn't swap it for the world. I would hate to support a Real Madrid or Man Utd type club - where second place is a failure. Or a Liverpool, where your history is almost like a mill stone to be dragged around for all eternity. (Q. What is the difference between a cow and a disaster???) I have nearly had a divorce because of the geographical location of Our club. My wife would do anything to escape the City, but I'm not moving. I will drive a maximum of 35miles for work but I'll be fooked if I will travel more than 15miles to see a home game. I would get nose bleeds if I moved beyond the Warwick side of the A5. Those Romans knew where to build a road - and for a fooking good reason! I felt a lump in my throat when I read the post from the chap at the top of this thread. God bless you Sir. (A. A Scouser doesn't know how to milk a cow.)

Just give Sven a chance Actually, we did look like the best team in the wrold at times today, but the defence brought me back down to earth!

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 2 Points: 1. Drunk posting is what all the cool kids do 2. Supporting City overseas gives you a sense of pride as not everyone can be a bandwagon supporter.
Jakemoore Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 This is why I can't wait to be grown up, so I can move out of London to Leicestershire purely for the football.
Fox92 Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 I want to move to America, but the one thing that I don't want to miss out on is the football down at the walkers. Same with me. If everything goes to what I've planned, I want to eventually move to America. The first time I went over there on Holiday was in 2005 and I loved it. I hate it how people say horrid stuff about America and their people. You know, theres never know litter around on the floor, its usually clean, their laws are better than ours and its warm!! The one thing is football though. Obviously I'm not interested in any of their NFL or whatever it is, so I'd miss going to the games etc. -- Thats if everything goes to plan. Going to football is great though. In my college class though, everyone who likes football supports Manchester United, apart from me (Leicester) and my two other mates (Nottingham Forest and Doncaster Rovers respectively). And I always get 'Leicester are sh*t' etc. It does my head in. I'd rather go and watch a club (in my case Leicester) than not and just sit back in a chair. Its just generally going to the games that gives me a buzz. Sometimes they'll say 'well I want to go to watch, but...' But what?! Because of where we live, they could easily support Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Doncaster, Rotherham or Barnsley and go to the games like me. But, they won't. Is it the thing about winning everything and being better than everyone else?
Fosse Boy Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Same with me. If everything goes to what I've planned, I want to eventually move to America. Finnegan Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Yeah, that "right to bear arms" they have works great.
Matt Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 I want to move to America, but the one thing that I don't want to miss out on is the football down at the walkers. Same for me with Australia, I don't have much here, apart from Mum, close friends and the football, that's probably all that's really keeping me here. Quite sad really.
ta-fc Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 I fcukin love this topic, I play in a sunday side made up of plastic scousers, mancs and Gooners... There's a hard core of five or six of us who constantly have a wry smile on our faces when the foxes win... Why? Cause we have the opportunity (wife and kid permitting) to actually watch our heroes live and be part of something, not just spectate from our sofa every saturday night at 10pm
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Love the post and always remember my first City game in 87 which got me away from supporting Liverpool as a kid. My Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad had always watched the City or maybe even Fosse for Great Grandad, but it was my Father who encouraged me to support my local team... they are the team that says something about me (as I'm local and from Leicester), plays and fights for my territory and will always therefore be close to my heart. The game I attended was when we were 2-0 down vs Swindon with players like Gary Ford and oohhh Robbie James... but we won 3-2 in injury time through Mark Venus' only goal for us !!! What I am really trying to say is this... I have more respect for a Derby, Tree or Chav fan from their respective Cities than the scummy Chelski or United fans, not from their supported clubs' locality.
Fox1651 Posted 23 January 2011 Posted 23 January 2011 Brilliant Linekers Left Foot however - i respect any local fan supporting their local team but F****t the red scum from trentside have a fair few fans from Loughborough (thats where im from originally and its in fookin LEICESTERSHIRE you red scum supporting twats) and i will NEVER i mean NEVER give them fookers respect
