Dylan Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Weale Naughton Mee Bamba van Aanholt Abe King Wellens Gallagher Yakubu Waghorn Subs: Ricardo, Bruma, Berner, Oakley, Dyer, Vassell, Howard. Going to be a very tough match of course, but confident we can produce a result. I'd bring Weale into the side- Ricardo looks very shakey with anything high in the box and really hasn't impressed tbf. I'd keep the back four the same- no reason to change it really. I think Abe should definitely return to the line-up; Oakley should only be a sub now imo, he wasn't the best yesterday imo, and Abe offers a lot more. Waghorn deserves a start after his 10 minutes against Bristol City: he worked VERY hard and chases everything putting the opposition under pressure at the back- something that Vassell and especiially the Yak fail to do. I'd therefore drop Vassell to the bench. I'd put Howard on the bench for the simple reason that he seems to play very well against Cardiff for some reason. Also, I don't think there's a point in having 3 defenders on the bench- we'd be extremely unlucky for all to get injured in one game- a CB and a full-back is enough imo. It's not going to be easy, but if we play our football it is more than possible. Their unbeaten in 7 at home. They've got a decent attack with Bothroyd, Chopra, Bellamy, Koumas, with Whittingham and Ramsey in midfield too. I hope our defending from set-pieces is solid (looked shakey from them yesterday), as Whittingham's delivery is usually very good. Prediction: Cardiff City 0-1 Leicester City (Waghorn)
bardonfox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I was about to post my team up but it would have been exactly the same as yours! Definitely Waggy in for Vassell. The kid needs a chance and Vassell has been less than convincing playing out wide as of late. And yeah I think I agree with Weale in for Ricardo too. I've got nothing against Ricardo, he just made me nervous as hell last night with his sloppy handling. I just think Weale would be a safer choice against Cardiff.
FoxesFan123 Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Same as above, but I'd also bring in Berner for PVA. Hasn't had 1 good game yet, always looks shaky
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Ricardo (we all know Sven will stick with him) Naughton Mee Bamba van Aanholt Abe King Wellens Gallagher Yakubu Dyer I'd like to see Waghorn start but I cant see it happening, hence why I've chosen Dyer instead.
MattyFromLE Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Decent team, and solid bench! However, i can't see Sven starting Waggy still...
bardonfox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Same as above, but I'd also bring in Berner for PVA. Hasn't had 1 good game yet, always looks shaky I know what you mean. The jury's still out on PVA for me. I think he has the potential, but I'm not convinced just yet. Can't see Sven replacing him with Bruno though...
acooling08 Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Same team as Bristol City but Abe for Oakley and Weale for Ricardo. Possibly Waggy on for Vassell. (Yak is lucky he keeps scoring otherwise he'd be replaced) If we play like we did against Derby I can see us winning. If we play like last night I can see it being 4-0 Cardiff.
martyn Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Van Aanholt was very good against Derby??? Agree that the jury is still out, but again, he's only been here 4 games. I can understand the clamour for Waghorn to star but, much like Vassell, he's not a wide player. I'd keep him on the bench but be inclined to introduce him much much earlier. Weale Naughton Bamba Mee PvA Abe Wellens King Gallagher Yakubu Vassell Subs: Dyer, Waghorn (should get at least 25 minutes), Oakley, Berner, Bruma, Howard, Weale.
FuriousFox46 Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Lets just hope Nottingham Forest push them physically and we take advantage of an extra days rest after all we have the momentum and quality
ScouseFox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 (Yak is lucky he keeps scoring otherwise he'd be replaced) Or maybe he's just good?
Guest ttfn Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I'd like to see: Weale Naughton Bamba Bruma van Aanholt Abe Wellens King Gallagher Yakubu Dyer
bardonfox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I'd like to see: Weale Naughton Bamba Bruma van Aanholt Abe Wellens King Gallagher Yakubu Dyer Why would remove Ben Mee? He's been awesome at the back recently.
Dilkes Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Weale Van Aanholt Mee Bamba Naughton Wellens King Gallagher Waghorn Yak Dyer Still not sure over the Gallagher in midfield.
davieG Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Currently losing to Forest if it ends like that then our game with Cardiff is going to be massive, lose and we'd be 7 points adrift win and we're 1 point behind them.
ajthefox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Weale Naughton Mee Bamba van Aanholt Abe King Wellens Gallagher Yakubu Waghorn Agree with this as the team that should play, but I'm about 90% sure Sven will stick with the team that started yesterday. He might bring Abe back but it wouldn't surprise me if he kept Oakley in.
StanSP Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Think we need to remember that should we lose, it's not the be-all and end-all! It will be a setback, of course, but it won't finish our season at all. Saying that, I think we'll draw 2-2. One of those topsy-turvy games, free-flowing football and lots of attacking for both teams. I imagine a lot of fans hearts' will be under a lot of pressure come full time!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Weale Naughton Bamba Mee/Bruma Van AanholtAbe WellensKingGallagher Yakubu Lloyd
blueredswed Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 I have looking on the last 25 minutes of Nottingham-Cardiff on swedish television and I can only say if Cardiff not play better home I think we will win with 3-0. Perhaps Weale should start this match but he must learn to don´t do the same as Nottinghams keeper threw away the ball as quick as possible to other side
Swalker Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Weale Naughton Bamba Mee RVA Abe Wellens King Vassel Gallagher THE YAK!! Subs- Waggy (get atleast 30 mins) Berner (might be needed as is stronger defensivley than RVa and he might get torn up by Bellamy) Ricardo Howard Dyer (good pace but not strong enough and his final ball isn't constantly good enough.) Oakley (hopefully not needed) Bruma Vassel looks like scoring every time he cuts inside. Probably due a goal.
ozleicester Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Still unbeaten at games i have attended... and im going to Cardiff.... so, easy 2-1 to us
hotdogfox Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 This is a massive MASSIVE game tuesday, and I actually think Sven will surprise you all and change the formation/tactics for this game...! Weale Naughton Bamba Mee Van Aanholt Abe Wellens King Dyer Waghorn Yak Then with 30 to go free the formation up to become the following... Weale Naughton Bamba Mee Can Aanholt Wellens Oakley King Vassell Waghorn Gallagher Prediction Cardiff 0-2 Leicester - Leicester to overtake Leeds into 6th place
Babylon Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Sven has had his "look" at Ricardo, Abe has had his "rest" and Waghorn should be rewarded for his goal last night.

Weale Naughton Bamba Mee Can Aanholt Wellens Oakley King Vassell Waghorn Gallagher Prediction Cardiff 0-2 Leicester - Leicester to overtake Leeds into 6th place I think he'll surprise you, and nobody else, and play 4-3-3, just like every other game. Abe has to start - Oakley looked like he couldn't play 2 games in a month yesterday, let alone 2 in a week.
B52 Posted 19 February 2011 Posted 19 February 2011 Bring back Logan. He had a clean sheet today against Oldham and Rovers fans think he was amazing. Bring back I say so the pathetic discussion of Weale versus Ricardo stops.
