lovelcfc Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Would this mean we are out the running for the play offs?? personally i dont think so as there are 9/10 games left think we will win 1-0 tho with king scoring
ozleicester Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Will make it verry tough, but there will still be time. I am more inclined to say if we do lose, then we probably are not good (read consistent) enough to make the playoffs. That said, i still believe we are the best footballing side in the championship and so... we will win, and begin our march to the Premier league.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 If we lose, it will be tough, very tough. These are the kind of matches we should win with our quality. Norwich have done very well, but are doing what we did last year, carrying on their confident roll without necessarily having a finished article "Premier Team". We don't have that either, but we're closer to it, even if it is down to all the loanees. Simply put, if we don't win tomorrow (exceptional circumstances aside - horrendous injuries, appalling refereeing, etc), then we don't deserve to be promoted.
cc_star Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 We need 8 wins, doesn't matter if Norwich is one of them or not. Of course we need to reverse our downward trend in results, sooner rather than later, but come the end of the season this one game won't matter more than any other.
Jackirius Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 We shouldn't be losing to Norwich, i have been to alot of their games this season and we are by far a better team, our style of play will suit us against them. We wont lose. I hope.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 I think it'd probably be too much for us to make up.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 How many points can we afford to drop from now til the end of the season if we want a top 6 finish? Right now id be amazed if we make the playoffs. Anything but a win tomorrow will be the final nail in the coffin IMO. Should we win tomorrow, I think we could perhaps drop a maximum of 8 points, and maybe get away with it.
Corky Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Then it would just make our task harder, but not impossible. We shouldn't give up until it's mathematically impossible for us to finish in the top six.
FuriousFox46 Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 I'll assess our chances of reaching the play-offs after the 45th game.
dannythefox Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Even if we win we'll still have our work cut out. I think were going to miss out on goal differance were to far behind usless we smash two or three team 5-0 soon, i dont think we can rely on there team loosing leeds have hit form and hull and burnley are flying!
topharry123 Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Cardiff and QPR were acceptable losses, I don't think this one is. Norwich are a team that will pull away even further from us with a win, and we need to close the gap on them not open it up. Right now, a win would still have us chasing the top 4 with not too big a gap. A lose and really we're looking at 6th spot with the play off teams being possibly 8 points ahead of us. Even winning out after a win to Norwich could make it close. The teams above us have shown they can have good runs too so for me a win here is a must. If not it's still possible, but think we'll probably have to wait until next season. Either way i'm proud of what we've become this season.
Larry_LCFC Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 ibbosuk - You really are the biggest moronic part-time glory supporter I I have ever come across on FT. All you ever do on every thread is tell us how we're not gonna make the playoffs, never gonna win and that our players arent up to it. Why dont you go support Derby or Forest like every other moron in the midlands. Back on topic - If we dont win (Im sure we will tho) then it will make it extremely tough as there is now literally 3 or 4 teams chasing one space. Burnley have games in hand and Hull are fighting hard. Never say never though ... look at blackpool last season. We cant afford to drop easy points though.
Forfoxsake1 Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Fancy us here we seem to do better when a team come to play football, not turn up to bully or park the bus, 2-0 win yak double
Matt Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 If we were to draw I reckon it'd be game over. I already kinda do shown by a some may say kneejerk thread I posted Saturday, should we win tomorrow I think we might be able to get back on track but anything less than a win tomorrow I think we'll be struggling. Make or break tomorrow, last crack of the whip to get back on track and even if we do win we still have a fair way to go.
demon_dog Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Everyone seems to take it for granted that if or as soon as we get into a play off position that we would stay there. The team most people overlook is of course Burnley. It's not until 4 games left to the end of the season that they actually catch up with everyone with the number of games played. It will not be possibly until then that we get a true reflection as to where we may finally be positioned in the league. All we can do at the moment is hopefully win as many as possible between now and the end of the season. If we manage to acheive good form like that it will be up to other teams to match us. Failing to do so clearly leaves us in a good position. As they say " Always look on the bright side of life"
fatmando Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Depends on other results. Everyone around us wins and we lose.....well let's just not even think it. We're guna win!....come on city!
Matt Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Depends on other results. Everyone around us wins and we lose.....well let's just not even think it. We're guna win!....come on city! It does not depends on other teams results! If we don't win, even if everyone around us doesn't win it gets us no-where, results wouldn't have 'gone our way' because we could get our own result to 'go our way'. If we win it's all we can have a say on, Fuck everyone else, we are now in a position that at some people we need someone above us to slip up but if we don't win it doesn't matter if other slip up or not, so let's just focus on ourselves.

Great speech for the players Matt but if everyone else wins tomorrow night we would be 10th, eight points from 6th. Burnley would be 7th, 4points behind sixth with two games in hand. Yeah it's still do-able but fook me the mountain will get a lot bigger. If we lose but a few around us lose, it's not as bad imo. edit: Judging by your frustration this debate has been had elsewhere on the forum? Sorry if so, I haven't read it all
Spiritwalker Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Regardless of tomorrow's result we will probably need 74 pts Thats 22 pts from 11 games. So our destiny is in our own hands.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 i think we need to stay unbeaten for the rest of the season to stand a chance of scraping into the play-offs. Heres hoping
whitlock Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 I'd place a hell of a lot of dollar on us winning agaisnt Norwich and lose at Scunny.... Its the Leicester way
lestajigs Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 i think we need to stay unbeaten for the rest of the season to stand a chance of scraping into the play-offs. Heres hoping think we can afford to loose 2 but win the rest!!! Still a massive task, too much for us I think,
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 7 March 2011 Posted 7 March 2011 Think we will draw, which really is no good. Would have taken that a while ago, but a win is really needed.
