Wymsey Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 I just love at times how Gally takes the set pieces. Seriously concerned about our defence though, we looked all over the place for their goals. Just seen the Coalville score at the bottom. Congratulations to them. Need a more reliant and better quality goalie as most of us keep saying and this is an area of urgent action.
Haydos Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Ricardo would be at fault for the first 2. Wealey good pen save. Can't really say much more. Tidy poaching from Yak and a neat finish for his 'trick.

Just seen the Coalville score at the bottom. Congratulations to them. Need a more reliant and better quality goalie as most of us keep saying and this is an area of urgent action. Need a couple of coaches by my reckoning, we're still awful when the opposition has the ball, and we urgently need a defensive coach its fooking abysmal, absolutely inexcusably abysmal and as the defence has received so much of Sven's attention it starting to reflect extremely appallingly on him too Faz out? Hamman out?
Bugg Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Didn't someone say that when Faz arrived at Huddersfield the defence gradually got worse? I swear I read that somewhere on here.
ajthefox Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Ok goals, defending looks suspect on the first but the other two look like just the average goal, wouldn't have said they were particularly bad defending compared. Weale definitely doesn't seem at fault for the goals either, although supposedly he gave it away for the first.... I'd also just like to say what an absolutely shite attendance 14,500 is for middlesborough and what a poor excuse of a fanbase that is for a club such as theirs. Terrible.
lcfc_jme Posted 2 April 2011 Posted 2 April 2011 Ricardo would be at fault for the first 2. Wealey good pen save. Can't really say much more. Tidy poaching from Yak and a neat finish for his 'trick. Most definitely, he'd be properly fvcking slaughtered on here for those. Absolutely piss-poor from Weale in attempting to save the first 2 goals. And no, I won't overlook those two shocking errors just because he saved a penalty. Woeful. Also, from TFLS, Bruma needs to sort himself out. There is no need to be in the referee's ear regardless of how aggrieved you are. The penalty had been saved, get ready to defend the corner and use your sense of injustice to spur you on in helping us see the game out.
Jimothy Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 I thought their second was a really quickly, well taken shot. He controls it and volleys it all in one movement, very difficult for a keeper to set himself for those IMO. Bit harsh to slate Weale too much for that goal. If King had scored that goal we'd all be go crazy over the quality of it.

sphericalfox Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 If anyone saw their freekick outside the box that came off the post, then you may want to check out Weale's positioning. It's appalling! That truly would have cost us the game! Yet if it was Ricardo, there would be four threads and about forty pages discussing how rubbish he is. I commend Weale saving the penalty. Though on a technical point of view he was off his line and shifted a second before the kick was taken. That's nick-picking...he got away with it. Emnes goal. Firstly his distribution gave the opportunity. Also on review he should be saving that strike. It's not like it was belted, curved, or hit a bobble. Williams goal, though it was long range and it would be nice to say that he did what he usually does, it would be hard to say that many goalkeepers would have stopped that. My view is that Bamba should have done better, once again, in defence against McManus. Obscene added time did not help our plight. The referee was determined to card the whole team, and Bruma is an idiot for continuing to complain, but I don't think this made a tremendous difference to the result to be fair. I just hope that given Yakubu's touch refound, and Kamara having a decent game, that somehow we can score our way to the playoffs, because we certainly won't defend our way at the minute. We'll need a goalkeeping clearout for sure.
sdb Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Hmm not sure many keepers would stop the second, great strike. 3rd unlikely, 1st maybe. I'd certainly keep him in for now, but a new keeper is priority no.1 for summer,
ithuriel Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Ricardo came into this team when things were on a high and despite what Sven has stated i do not think he was any better than what we already had, Weale now returns to a defence that has no confidence. I doubt either will be our number one next season.
LestaFox92 Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Made me feel sick when i saw they had leveled absolute shite wank so many chances this season just thrown away hopefully theres more!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 I'm sorry but I dont care about the referee being shite, the defence is to blame. Utter garbage looking at that. Their first goal was too easy, we just gave them all the time and space in the world, almost asking for them to score. The second goal was well defended either, but certainly wasnt as poor as the first goal. The third goal was another case of shocking set piece defending, having no one to attack the ball. Everytime a long ball comes in we panic, and yesterday it had to be in trhe last minute. Seems liek the Yak's hat trick was all for nothing now.
Corky Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Weale probably should've done better with the first, the second was a good strike and the third a powerful header. Vitor back in next week.
Karljohn Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Wonder what sort of attitude Vitor will have knowing that if he scores twice he'll be dropped anyway....Bruma/Bamba looked all over the place.
Karljohn Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 I'd also just like to say what an absolutely shite attendance 14,500 is for middlesborough and what a poor excuse of a fanbase that is for a club such as theirs. Terrible. To be fair Middlesboro has been stuck in recession since the early 90s,the club went bust in 1986 and never had fantastic support just a load of plastic fans when Juninho and Ravenelli came to town, now they are bottom 8 and fans have less money in their pocket, its no wonder they are attracting similar crowds to that of the Cov. Always found the majority of their fans to be a decent bunch who were realistic about their team, unlike that deluded bunch at the other end of the M69.
acooling08 Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Remember Weale was in th form of his life before he was dropped unjustly. If Sven hadn't been a twat and just kept him in the side he'd of no doubt have been playing better than he did yesterday.
MC Prussian Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Can't blame the defense for the first and second goal against. With 1-0 up, Oakley lost possession too easily and Wellens failed to control the ball in defensive midfield when we were leading by two goals, but of course they don't show that on the Football League Show. Both actions allowed Boro to cover a longer stretch in our back real quick. Any back four would've struggled with that. However, one should question the defensive error that allowed McManus a free header im the box.
Fox92 Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Our first goal, Wellens did so well. Clever to hit it low and hard. There first goal, didn't notice when I was there, but it went under Weale. And the second goal he should have got to on his front post as well. Oakley did loose possession for the first goal to easily though. Our third goal, fantastic ball over the top by Darius and great finishing all day by Yakubu. Not sure why Sven took him off again, he's our only goal threat. Middlesbrough's first goal looked like a free header. Good penalty save by Weale although it wasn't struck that well.
B52 Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 Remember Weale was in th form of his life before he was dropped unjustly. If Sven hadn't been a twat and just kept him in the side he'd of no doubt have been playing better than he did yesterday. You're so funny.... Weale had a rock solid defence when he did a "great" job. Ricardo hasn't got that and you've seen how "great" Weale is. The third goal is exactly why Ricardo goes out and punch the ball. No, Weale is better because he stands at the line and get easily beaten. We had won this match with Ricardo in goal. No doubt about it. A hattrick by Yak and we still lost. Keep on defending Weale when we're bleeding. This is the reason why we had to get another keeper than Weale. And Ricardo is much better - Definetaly if he had support from the "fans".

You can't possibly know that. Neither Weale or Ricardo are good enough. You just can't defend doing what Sven did in taking Weale out after keeping us in the game against Sheff Utd (Let alone getting us the 3 points).
The Doctor Posted 3 April 2011 Posted 3 April 2011 first goal weale should have done better with, the ball for the yaks third Also if that was a penalty then i'm the queen of england.
