I come in peace

Hi guys,

Firstly, i'd like to thank you for yesterday. Despite the result, I came to Leicester expecting a little bit of mouth from some of your lads, and some trouble from the stewards after hearing some stories from other sets of fans. In fact it wasn't at all like that, your fans were very welcoming, your stewards were very friendly chaps and I thoroughly enjoyed my day. I like to think we created quite a bit of noise, and we also had a bit of banter with your drummer and one of the girls to our left and they took it really really well, and it made the atmosphere alot more enjoyable. Collectively we are a friendly bunch of fans who just love a bit of banter and laugh (hence us taking the piss out of your poznan etc).

On reflection, you came out in the second half and clearly wanted it more than our lads did, and you scored a couple of fantastic goals and deserved the result. All in all, really good day out at a good ground, but I must ask, what the **** are the 'Fosse Boys'? They think they're some sort of Ultras Group with about 10 people standing in a corner on their own. Surely they would be better off next to the away fans with the drummer. You actually created a pretty decent atmosphere considering alot of home fans are really lame in modern football. There was another group on the far side behind the goal that created a bit of noise as well, but really, what is the point in the 'Fosse Boys' if they are going to seperate themselves from other decent, passionate fans and then contributing sweet f.a to the atmosphere themselves?

Like I say, thanks for a great day out. I will certainly be considering coming back next season!!

All the best for the last two games.

Thanks for the positive comments.

There are threads on here about the Fosse Boys which explain in detail their initial creation and motivation. One of the reasons for their location is, amongst other things, the lack of atmosphere generated by the traditionally vocal kop.

It's internal politics, they're kinda making a point

Appreciate the positive comments but about the Fosse Boys - I've been with them and being honest I'd say they've got the best mentality in the whole ground, people think they're a bunch of ultra-wannabes but they ain't, the first impressions I can half see why people think that but after being with them they really ain't, the new songs they tried to introduce weren't a hit - but sadly due to that it appears now anything they do won't be a hit with 99% of our fans, main evidence being they started the "Poznan" (Grecques, correct name) way before Man City did it, in-fact way before they'd even played Lech, and it got laughed off because of their poor introduction, in my eyes, yet as soon as another fanbase do it it's considered "the in thing", I'm understanding people won't but I really reckon the FB deserve a 2nd chance with our fans.

That doesn't so much answer your question though, I must admit.

Fosse Boys is a supporters' group set up this year, to try and improve the atmosphere at the Kop end of the ground. In principle I think they have the backing of most fans, alhough I think even they would admit that actual participation has not really extended much this season beyond the relatively small group that set it up.

The reason they are at that end of the ground is that the club wouldn't let them assemble near the away fans, despite complete co-operation shown towards the club and persistent (and truthful) reassurances that they had no intention of causing any trouble whatsoever. There was a bit of a hoo-ha at the start of the season...they had some scarves, etc. made and some supporters wearing them weren't allowed in to the ground. But they have continued on, albeit in smaller and smaller numbers - although when the ground has been full I think they have made a knock-on impact.

So yeah. That's basically it.

L1 is season ticket holder only and more or less sold out and N1 is the Family Stand, where a singing section was attempted and failed a few years ago. Neither are therefore an option for the group. There's also the issue of the Kop being little more atmospheric than the Family Stand.

Numbers tend to fluctuate depending on work commitments but you did see one of the worst turn-outs of the season. All being well, there'll be more there next season once season tickets etc have been renewed and discussions have been had regarding the future.

Gotta say though with regards to the Grecques, It looks great in mass such as in L1 and in the Fosse Boys section but look around now in any other section of the stadium and you see the odd person doing it on there own, to me that is almost as cringeworthy as the 'Chelsea Dagger Monkey Dance'.

As much as I agree, people fail to realise what the FB are about, a lot in L1 just see them as a "bunch of ultra-wannabes".

Looking back I think the FB went wrong in their introduction, introduced too many new, foreign songs at once and they've learned more about our fanbase that it really ain't easy to things to catch on, I hope that big post by Fosse Boy about make the move to L1 comes off though, if those in L1 can ever reach the point where they actually hear them singing traditional LCFC songs then they may take note, but first impressions are vital and I don't think the FB can deny the fact theirs didn't go well.

SK4, at the back there, is also a decent area IMO, hear a lot of decent songs from it.

I bet AWatfordBoy doesn't come in peace, I bet he makes an almighty squeal when he climaxes, actually.

Thought he was an alien at first.

I think a lot of people just don't like the way the Fosse Boys come across, I'm a big fan personally and although I take the piss on here occasionally it's all in jest. But yeah, I don't think the Fosse Boys are very approachable because it's such a small group of what looks like teenage lads who appear to be doing their own thing (some of the chants we've never heard of before don't exactly help) and the banners throw people off a bit at times because nobody knows what's been going on. I remember one week you were chanting something on the lines of Kevin Barclay is a c*nt and I reckon 90% of fans don't have a clue who he even is haha!

I think if they worked on building numbers through more mainstream chants and getting people to come stand with them whilst at the game then they'd have loads more luck. Just ask people in the concourse if they want to come over and try it out, I'm sure loads of people would be happy to. I think people are afraid to walk over once they're in there seats because the stewards might get their backs up or something.

Teenage lads?

Bugger me, whatever I'm doing to look after myself at 26 I'm doing well! lol

Nah, we're working on growing and making ourselves more attractive as a group to fellow fans. I've had a few people come up to me in the concourse and say how much they like what we're doing and expressing an interest in becoming a part of the group. If Fosse Boy's post a couple of weeks back about people doing something pro-active about their approval of the group, that corner could be a great place to be next season.

The group though does have a few issues to iron out and meetings should be happening soon with any luck.

Most people don't like the Fosse Boys on here because some come across as know it alls and in general just pricks.

A few on here are sound though, but theres some that put me off totally with their cunty comments.

We've tried to rein in some of the more, shall we say, aggressive debaters on our own forum and by having gentle words in ears on matchdays. We're not daft enough to think we're going to grow and endear fans to us by browbeating them. That's why if we have a situation where someone speaks for the group, it's generally one or two regulars who do it on here, of which I'm often one.

Any group where I'm considered something of a diplomat must have some bolshy fuckers in it. lol

That said, we're a friendly enough bunch of lads and most times we do meet people on away days who either don't like us or have heard bad things about us I like to think they go away thinking we're actually not bad lads.

Most of you are pretty good lads from what I've read on here.

Just the odd couple as I've said come across aggressive or too "know it all" for my liking. Its sort of their opinion IS right no matter what anyone else says.

I really think the Fosse Boys would be better off setting up in J2 or something. That way they would be creatng some sort of domino effect. The way I see it is, the atmosphere is really good in L and K - then it's just the top few rows of J3 that sing, and even less in J2 and J1. I know that in that corner they are next to the Kop but the Kop isn't really very good compared to the Eat Stand, no offence to anyone in there. By being in J or maybe even H, they would not be totally isolated but at the same time wouldn't be smack bang in the middle of the atmosphere (which would be a bit pointless considering they are trying to spread the atmosphere around).

I just think they are way too isolated in that corner and it is never going to make a big difference. You are never going to get the whole ground singing, I think a more realistic target would be trying to get the majority of the East Stand singing.

We have actually got a group ourselves called 'The Yellow Order'. They were the lot at the back yesterday who started the Poznan and the Hooker songs. They have only been going for 5 months now but despite alot of people turning their noses up at them to start with, many people have grown to like them. They have introduced quite a few new songs and similarly to FB made their own scarves. The Yellow Order took a bit of stick from alot of other groups because they cooperate with the club really well, and they were originally set up in the name of 'Watford Ultras' which was changed because of the modern day meaning of the term 'Ultras'. Groups like the Holmesdale Fanatics have made it so that 'Ultras' behave in a similar fashion to firms. They just bully people wherever they go. They have at least 100 that stand in the top right hand corner of the main home stand now at vicarage road, and I think they even put on their own coach yesterday. FB clearly have potential with some of the fans you have in L1, but I don't think they help themselves by being so far away. They a look a little bit silly from the away stand. It would be interesting to hear what you thought of our 'Yellow Order' lot yesterday.

I thought at first it seemed a good idea, and don't get me wrong they have helped the atmosphere, more so at away games. The songbook is a little more varied due to them.

Reason Im not involved is because all clubs are forming ultra groups, Ultras are not associated with this country and look a bit out of place to me. See them as 'wannabees'. Want to keep the heritage of the English fans etc.

I am ready to be laid in to..

I did like that ''In Mackay We Trust'' Banner looking from the main stand when that Yellow Order Group (i think) raised it up before kick off.
