Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Les for me. Were Dickov and Brian Deane signed by Bassett?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Les for me. Were Dickov and Brian Deane signed by Bassett? Yes. I voted Ferdinand, shame we only had him for one season.
Darkon84 Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Gotta be Sir Les, though Gudjonsson was a great find aswell.
Corky Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Who signed Billy McKinlay? Adams. He was the best for me.
lcfcsnow Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Ferdinand was good for a year though. Best thing he did was persuade Izzet to stay when we went down.
cc_star Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Dickov, by a mile. Almost voted Nalis for that goal though, loved Thatcher & Joey... tough call

ScoutMan Posted 22 June 2011 Author Posted 22 June 2011 What you need to remember is the amount of games they played for City during their time here and of course how well they played. McKinlay as good grafter as he was featured heavily in the promotion campaign but not in the prem one hence left off poll. Keown had a massive row with MA and didnt really feature untill Levien took over and looked too slow thats why he got left off.
Corky Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 But he was part of a team that won promotion by 12 points in some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable. Yes others played in the Premiership and did well but McKinlay achieved something and played a crucial part in centre-midfield with Izzet.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 LES! Not Steffan Freund. That signing nearly made me fook my Psychology exam up, confusing him with Sigmund Freund.

A guy who featured heavily during our promotion season but then didn't feature so much during a relegation season is deemed not suitable. McKinlay was a brilliant foil for Izzet in that promotion season, AND played for free. He wins it for me, Les Ferdinand/Ben Thatcher at a push are the only other candidates for me.
Webbo Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 I went for Tiatto although it could have been Thatcher or Ferdinand, I just thought I'd be the only one to vote for him.
potter3 Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Finally! I've waited 6 years for somebody to ask this question
Fox92 Posted 22 June 2011 Posted 22 June 2011 Although I think it is Ferdinand, I did like a few of those signings - Thatcher was good when he was here, I liked Gareth Williams although we didn't play the right style suited for him and Marcus Bent was alright. Bent's goal at Charlton away when we got relegated was class. Outside of the boot.
