Des. Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 If he can produce the goods then spend the money, we have to take risks it we want to go up He would be an excellent signing, good in the air and gets goals from set plays, as we found out last season
Itsthejoeker Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 He went to my school. Bit pricey eh? His brother would be cheaper, not quite Matt's standard yet. But he went to my school? Where did you go?
john doe Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 But he went to my school? Where did you go? same school as matt mills
HankMarvin Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Stoke are in talks with Reading’s Matt Mills over a £3.5million switch. The Potters are offering more money than Wolves in the race for the highly-rated defender, who missed out on promotion with the Royals and is now being allowed to leave. Stoke turned to Mills, 24, after being quoted £12million-plus for Birmingham’s Scott Dann. But ambitious Leicester are making a late effort to hijack the deal. The Foxes are offering Mills £25,000 a week, which is more than Stoke are willing to pay.

Tommy G Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 25k a week is penuts for a player of his quality. He is class, was at the reading away game and he made Yakubu look like a lost sheep. Team him up with Bambi and that would be a naughty back line. Sven will want to bring mee in too as cover. For lb and cb. Could be shaping up one hell of a team. Dont forget shifting hobbs, dyer and howard would free up 25k a week in wages near enough so we wouldnt be at a loss. All about ins and outs, weve hardly spent big ...yet.

Agreed, I was also thinking we might sell a few fringe players to free up the wage budget at least, such as selling players like Lloyd and Steve, possibly Neilson and Kennedy too. S'all good
Guest ttfn Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 This signing would be a squillion times better than St Ledger. That said, I'm not sure he's anywhere near worth what we'd end up paying for him.
Hack Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 I can't see this happening as much as I'd love it. Wolves can offer him PL this season whilst we can only offer him the possibility of PL football next season. £4m is a bit OTT as well. Didn't the article indicate that Wolves wern't prepared to pay 4 mil? If that is the case as it currently stands he hasn't got a Premier league option.
Hack Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Wow am I the only person on here who has never heard of him? Your kidding right!! What games do you watch then.
john doe Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 Your kidding right!! What games do you watch then. arles avigon think they have decent striker?
acooling08 Posted 28 June 2011 Posted 28 June 2011 It's strange if he's as good as everyone says he is. I do however know our team inside out and do know many of the Championships' big names. I watch very few Championship games excluding Leicester ones. I guess strikers stick in the mind more. Oh and on the Danns front, I got him confused with Scott Dann
One Half Wonder Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 he's quality, but i'm sure we could get a couple of players in for that kind of money, i.e. an old-head centre back/ leader like Richard Dunne and Nicky maynard so can't see it happening at all. Who in the championship buys 4million pound defenders?!?!

ithuriel Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 We get this guy it will be a massive statement of intent and any players that are not sure about us that are thinking things over will know we mean business.
1994fox Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 This would be both incredible, and highly worrying financially.

S'all good Don't forget Moreno, N'Guessen,Oakley,Moussa and Kermit the Frog!
Jimbo Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Wow am I the only person on here who has never heard of him? I'm starting to think that you don't even like football because you seem to know feck all about it.
Adster Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Wow am I the only person on here who has never heard of him? You most probably are, and no wonder. Your football knowledge is very poor, as people have said I've never agreed with any of your posts. PS: Look at my Sig, says it all really.
jonthefox Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 This would be both incredible, and highly worrying financially. Youve stolen my thoughts there chap.
Bezzanator89 Posted 29 June 2011 Posted 29 June 2011 Didn't he score the winner against us last season when we lost 2-1 at home? In my opinion Mr Mills is quite decent, unlike Kermit the Frog, just thought I'd chip in on that one.
