Ngannou is a freaky powerhouse. Fury struggled as he couldn’t adopt his usual tactics.

Looking at that, I still think he beats Uysk when he’s in better shape. Uysk doesn’t have that knockout power that Ngannou has.

Wilder Vs Ngannou anyone?

My son is training in MMA. I always thought he would make a great boxer but he prefers MMA. After that bollocks how can I disagree?

Fury looked shot there for me. He lost. Simple as. How can I pretend that boxing is better when u see that inept performance and dodgy reffing.

Usyk must be creaming in his pants watching that. Fury looks like a spent force.

Spent years of his career not fighting and telling everyone he'll fight anyone at any point.

At a certain point you start to look worried. Fury hasn't fought for nearly a year. A full year not doing what you're the world champion at. Diabolical.

Ngannou is ****ing special man, didn’t he get into MMA really late as well, fair ****s to him. Fury definitely didn’t expect that, it definitely makes the Usyk fight a lot more interesting but I think he still takes it. Could see Hearn trying to use this as why Fury is “ducking” Joshua

Well, to be fair, it’s been more than a year since Ngannou has fought too, hasn’t it? And that wasn’t even boxing!

for me, him saying he hasn’t fought for about a year is a terrible excuse.

but it wasn't a robbery. people just don't know what they're watching I feel and the mega biased commentary didn't help.

I only gave Ngannou 2 rounds, albeit with a 10-8 in the 3rd. He got marginally outpointed in all the rest IMO. You could make an argument for the last round but that's about it.

Francis did a fantastic job anyway.

Everything about boxing is a joke, who really cares about it anymore?

Heavyweight  boxing is a joke for sure because  none of the big boys want to box each other.

What a sh1te era

I think Fury has looked mentally unwell in the lead up to this fight. Not surprised he struggled.

His Dad should leave him alone, step back, let him get on with things, he's started to get on my nerves now.

Difficult to say that, when professionals are stating the same.

I thought it was fairly equal having watched it back. Ngannou did nothing for the past two rounds really. It’s marginal but I still feel he edged it.

You mean Frampton? Bloke's an idiot, just ignore him. Came onto the comms in R6 and said Ngannou was 5-0 up lol I guess he may have been distracted by all the celebrity infused sights and sounds within the arena. Probably felt it was inadvisable to contradict the narrative being pushed so heavily by the commentators too. Everyone has an agenda, especially in boxing. It was definitely close, Ngannou could have won if he was a bit smarter about stealing rounds. Shame he didn't really get after Fury following the knock-down as well. Kind of let him off the hook.

Yeah I gave Ngannou 3rds and with the knockdown, gave it to Fury by 3pts, 96-93 just like one of the judges. Woke up today and all of a sudden its a robbery. There's no getting away from the Fury jab, its just he didn't throw it enough and with the power of Ngannou, it made it a closer fight then most thought. Great credit goes to Ngannou for the this, but he wasn't robbed.

Am I the only one not outraged by the result? Obviously the judge who had it 3 rounds to Fury is a little questionable in a 10 round fight but I thought a narrow Fury win/ draw was about right

Those judges were never ever gonna allow an MMA fighter to beat the unbeaten heavyweight champion of the world in his first bout.

Boxing corrupt to its core. Let's not forget Fury was also robbed in his first fight against Wilder but he lost last night. Plain and simple.

Credit to Francis Ngannou though, he is definitely a credible opponent in this sport. Kind of what we wanted Conor McGregor to do to Mayweather!

I also didn't think it was a robbery. Ngannou probably just edged it for me, but you could certainly make a case for Fury (though definitely to 96-93). He'll need to up his game if he wants to beat Usyk, if it happens at all...

A mix bag from the experts and not so much experts.

So, what was the point of all that exactly? I hadn't paid much attention to it but as i was jetlagged i thought i would give it a watch.  I agree that Ngannou gave a really good account of himself, but with nothing on the line the whole thing fizzled out in the second half of the fight. I agree that the result wasn't as controversial as made out, but it was a horrible performance from Fury. The last 2 rounds it felt like barely anything got thrown by either boxer. I think Fury was likely aware that unless something silly happened he was getting the decision as he never panicked and as Ngannou tired, with nothing really on the line he had nothing to go 'all in' for and going to points made sense.  It's silly to promote a spectacle like this with nothing on the line - it just felt pointless.

Atmosphere in these Saudi fights comes across so flat. RIdiculous build up and I suppose by the time the fight starts everyone is jaded.

Not knowing much about boxing.

How can someone who's never had a boxing match in their lives fight for the world title?  I awlays thought it was ranked and the contenders got a shot?

So are rankings no longer a thing?

See my post above - the title wasn't on the line.  The commentators kept emphasising it wasn't an exhibition match, but i don't really know what it was ?

oh right thanks, saw a picture of Fury after the fight holding the belt aloft assumed it was a title fight.

They gave him a Riyadh belt, or something similar. Just to make it seem important, l guess. Obviously it is totally meaningless, a bit like the circus HW boxing has become.
