shen Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Dickov in the 2002/2003 promotion season Wasn't that in all competitions, not just the league?
I am Rod Hull Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 I see that Rangers are thinking of making an offer to get Kenny Miller back... Now i`d have him, no probs... He`d get ya 20+ a season in this league...
kingfox Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Sven knows he needs a goalscorer he will get his targets don't worry about that. Maynard will still be on I reckon, if not he will try elsewhere. Gallagher, Nugent, King and Waghorn so far could be our main goalscorers while Routledge can score goals if he comes. Maynard, Yakubu, Sharp any of them can score 20+ Evans, Derbyshire, Tae-Se is not the answer. We will get someone I can sense it.
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Even tho we have made some amazing signings we are still missing the all important 20 goal a season striker. Obviously we are linked heavily with Maynard and still Yakubu but with the lack of movement on both fronts I feel that we are fighting a losing battle. So the reason for me opening this topic is to find out who else our fans would realisticaly want to see as there 20 goal a season striker. Maybe we should be looking abroad? Jeffrey Schlupp hailed by Leicester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has described Leicester City academy product Jeffrey Schlupp as a great talent. "How good he could be I don't know, but he is one of the great talents we have in this club. If you're good enough .....you're old enough !!!!!!

Foxblogger Posted 12 July 2011 Posted 12 July 2011 Wasn't that in all competitions, not just the league? Yeah, that's right.
Conscript Fox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Shane Long would do it but is Prem bound I hear, Cant believe more people havent mentioned him. Anyway, Id agree that wide spread of double figure guys through the side is just as beneficial and Mills, St Ledger and Bamba have a header or two in them dont forget.
Mr.Lowe Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 What about Leon Best of Newcastle?? Fast and would bang the goals in down here.

Yeah just read that on the mail online.... article dates back to 3rd June though http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1393699/Birmingham-want-Newcastle-striker-Leon-Best.html Would you have him over maynard? Proved premiership & championship player!
Conscript Fox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Would you have him over maynard? Proved premiership & championship player! Yeah, I would, I just think there is a lot of fuss about Maynard and a huge price tag for a guy who for all the supposed potential hasnt done a lot in the game yet and at the end of the day is a Bristol City player, if he was all that, would he be at that club still, he is 24 after all and will turn 25 soon after this season begins. I think there is better value out there and Best would represent a slice of that. We could drop 4, 5 or maybe 6 million on a guy who has not proven himself in the division above, he could be for sale again in a season and a half, and who is to say he will really fire the 20 goals his price tag needs to almost guarantee. Another guy, Mason has just signed for Cardiff City for £250k - superb young player, 19 and his underage international performances suggest a real bargain has been had there.
funkyrobot Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 We only need to sign a 19 goal a season striker because we can make up the difference with a 1 goal a season one. Kermogant would fit the latter role perfectly
Kent Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Nugent scored about 15 last season in a mediocre Pompey team mostly from a wide position so I wouldn't put 20 goals past him this term.
Babylon Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 What about Leon Best of Newcastle?? Fast and would bang the goals in down here. Like he did for Coventry..... Not.
Darkon84 Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 How about Sylvan Ebanks-Blake Ive thought about him before, think he would do a fantastic job, but im sure some of the Wolves fansthat post on here were saying its a no-go, as he is still in MM's plans for next season
gerrytaggart Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Wasn't that in all competitions, not just the league? 6 goals in 9 league games. he played one cup game (the final I believe) but didn't score, so like any good statistician I left that one out as it makes for a more impressive read.

Lambert09 Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 What about Simon Cox? Not really been given a propper chance...he would be my second choice if Maynard doesnt arrive.
Walshy5 Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Billy Sharp got 15 goals in 29 apperences last season. Got to be worth a shout.
yorkie1999 Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Dextor Blackstock will score 20+ goals next season, .. if he ever gets fit, forest are counting on him
