lcfcsnow Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Not keen to be honest, especially at that price. he's been off form for a while and always seems miserable/depressed in interviews.
Matt Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Someone 'ITK' who hasn't had anything he's told me happen yet but he still claims to be 'ITK' has said we've had a £4m bid accepted, all i'm saying is i'll believe it when I see it. *Obviously even if it was accepted he'd have to agree terms so he may actually be right but still you'd expect it to be in the media that a £4m bid has been accepted.
STUHILL Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 I think he will go to a Prem team. Someone like Wigan/Stoke/Wolves Shame because we are one star striker short of being a VERY good team!
Lambert09 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Im not religious but I might get down on my knees and pray for this......Last piece of the puzzle fo sho!!
Stevosevic Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Would piss off Coventry fans which would be nice.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Does anyone know whether Robbie supported us as a kid - I understand this is a pre-requisite for any side he joins?
Chryatis Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Not keen to be honest, especially at that price. he's been off form for a while and always seems miserable/depressed in interviews. This. Personally I would sooner spend the money on someone younger.
Adster Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Haha just make sure i'm not near you. You won't need to be..
Thracian Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 A market pal from Corby warned me that Keane was way past his best but from all I've seen Keane is a natural striker who can get behind defences ad hurt em. Even more reason to keep Schlupp though. He would learn more from Keane than being anywhere else. Keane, Schlupp, King and Nugent makes for some goals potential and a great deal of fluidity and movement at long last.
sdb Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 If it's no more than £3mill and his wages are under £30k, it's a decent deal imo. But it is a risk. I certainly don't think he's top half prem quality anymore, put it that way.

escos Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Really don't get all this bad form shite. The man has only made 52 league appearances in the last two seasons ffs!!! Hardly getting a run is he!!

Tomassi Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 We're not in the top half of the prem!! Exactly... some people need to dumb down their expectations somewhat... even tho Keane is superb and would be that Big name signing Svens been saying about!!
Stevosevic Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 People saying he's too old - he is only a 31, still has a couple of years in him. Think how many good players are out there who are much older than that.
J.Lisemore Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Would probably be the signing of the summer Championship wise. It amazes me that some people think we can do better than Robbie Keane.
Tomassi Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Would probably be the signing of the summer Championship wise. It amazes me that some people think we can do better than Robbie Keane. Well said chap
sdb Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 We're not in the top half of the prem!! I thought someone would miss the point. People are making out he's a different gravy. He's not. That's what i'm saying. Would probably be the signing of the summer Championship wise. It amazes me that some people think we can do better than Robbie Keane. Yak, Maynard and Long are better imo. It's 2011, not 2005.
m00nie Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 this time last year we had paulo sousa ..maderic.. unfit players... and now people are turning there noses up at robbie keane..
thybluefox Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Not saying he'd be a bad signing, but I'd prefer someone like NM. Capable of scoring a similar amount of goals but also still on the way up, rather than on the way down in his career. *awaits abuse*

Yak, Maynard and Long are better imo. It's 2011, not 2005. Each to their own... He definitely wont be at the levels that we saw a few years ago and i agree to that extend... i suppose the only way to see is that if he does sign and see the results... i still think he has more than enough in his locker to be a really top draw signing for us
Petchy Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 I thought someone would miss the point. People are making out he's a different gravy. He's not. That's what i'm saying. Yak, Maynard and Long are better imo. It's 2011, not 2005. Yak, Maynard and Long didn't want to / won't be coming. So regardless of what year it is, we have to turn to alternatives that could possibly happen. Keane is one of those whether you like it or not.
escos Posted 12 August 2011 Posted 12 August 2011 I thought someone would miss the point Yak, Maynard and Long are better imo. It's 2011, not 2005. I didn't miss any point! People were saying he'd be great in this league, then you said he is not top half prem quality!!
