Simo86 Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 I dint say he was angry EVERY time though Still some damn good chicken-ing from Eboue though I know I just wanted to post the video
Kitchandro Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Not really, take this example (highly simplified): -we agree a £5 million deal with Bristol and they accept -during negotiations, it turns our that NM agent is a money-grabbing arsehole and seeks to impose heavy fees on LCFC every time we want to use his image or have him give an interview We're then in a situation where the bid is accepted but the deal collapses because we're paying NM for every interview he gives. Isn't that along the lines of the reasons why talks break down with the player all the while though? For example Yakubu and Mackail-Smith - we had bids accepted but there ended up being problems with player negotiations, which obviously hadn't been resolved beforehand. And everyone seemingly ITK says even when a bid's been accepted there's still a lot that can go wrong.
artursteppe Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Andrew Neville had an 'informal chat' with his opposite number at Bristol City earlier this week. I cannot think for a moment that a price was not agreed - now is not the time for 'guessing games'. Since then I am supposing Neville has been putting together certain facets of the deal to be able to make the 'formal bid' which will, I assume include everything that Bristol City are insisting on. eg not just the price, but the schedule of payments including cash up front. To do all this Neville would have needed confirmation from the chairman that we can comply with everything Bristol City need for the deal. I really cannot imagine that the 'formal bid' is simply something to keep our fingers crossed about. It must be confirmation in document form of everything requested earlier in the week.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 has there actually been any progress since last night?
Bettsy82 Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Looking unlikely this will be done for Saturday bu I've got everything crossed !

thybluefox Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 GameOf_2Halves Just now So...Bristol City want @A1F1E10 before they consider selling Nicky Maynard. #LCFC ready to bid a whopping £6m for the #BCFC man.
Corky Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Just hope it's not left until the last day of the window.
Jobyfox Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 has there actually been any progress since last night? Yes! We've had another 10 pages of speculation.

David Guiza Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 I seem to be in the minority who hasn't heard something from a contact about this transfer. Must be at least 50itk people on this transfer..
Clazie Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 I'm not going to claim to be ITK but, last night I had a dream in which both Maynard and Beckford started on saturday. Now, for the element of surprise (we didn't know who the new signings were) they both came in body bags and were unveiled on the centre circle 5 seconds before kick off. They then both scored hattricks as we lost 6-7. Now, as I said, I'm not ITK, just passing on what I heard.
ealingfox Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Maynard is worth more than Diego Forlan to be fair.
adam1 Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 For the second day running The Sun has published a piece on us offering £5million for Maynard. The difference from yesterdays piece is that they are stating that Waghorn is also to move to BCFC as part of the deal. Lazy journalism...
FOXMAN2 Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Bid of 6.25mil Thats another chapter in the WINE GUMS SAGAand livened up the thread
blueblood88 Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Isnt that the job of the finance director? Yes, but he's a part of a team that work on the finances, he won't do it on his own.

Chazwaz Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 If we do get him I hope its done before Saturday...
Jimothy Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Reckon the only reason we've had to bid £6m is because 6 is what most Bristolians can count to on one hand.
MC Prussian Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 Reckon the only reason we've had to bid £6m is because that's what most Bristolians can count to on one hand. That must be one heck of a large hand!!!

Collymore Posted 25 August 2011 Posted 25 August 2011 My hunch is that today could be the day. I said that when Maynard was at Crewe he had the potential to be the next Collymore and I stick by that. However we are over paying for him by at least £2m at this stage in his career IF he reaches his full potential though then I could see him being worth 20M or 30M in today's money in 5 years. This could turn out to be the best business our club as ever done.
