m00nie Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Brilliant news. I think he'll help bring the best out of Beckford, as will Johnson. Things are starting to look a lot better! Still would like us to play with some more width, but unless Sven dips in to the loan market we've not got the players. problem is if we get in 1/2 wingers would need to switch to 442 which would leave only 2 midifeld positions with at least 6 midfileders... abe/wellens/johnson/king/fernandes/oakley so cant see him even considering it at all... not sure if theres 2 out of those 6 that i think wouyld be strong enough in just a 2 either...
B52 Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Schmeichal Peltier Mills Bamba Konchesky Johnson - With King he can go forward with ease. Fernandes King Vassell Nugent Beckford Subs: Weale, Paintsil, Wellens, Dyer, Danns 2-0 to us with King and Beckford as scorers.
Corky Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Won there two years ago, should've done last season, would be brilliant if we do on Wednesday.
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Alright, alright already I'll stop now mate
Simmo86 Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Kasper Pelts Mills Bamba Konchesky Fernandes Johnson King Danns Vas Beckford Subs: Weale, SSL, Wellens, Nugent(if fit) Schlupp. Abe if Nugent isn't fit!
kingfox Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Schmeichel Peltier, Mills, Bamba, Konchesky Fernandes Danns, Johnson King Vassell, Nugent/Beckford Subs - Weale, Pantsil, Wellens, Schlupp, Nugent/Beckford

Or more likely we'd go back to 4-3-3. Would work a lot better with proper width.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 I have a good feeling about this important game.
liamsm Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Another tough (away) game, with Middlesbrough being unbeaten this season. Like Cardiff away, I'd certaily take a point away from the Riverside. Regarding the team, I would play 4-4-2 Dyer playing on the right, and Vassell on the left. Although Beckford looks like he needs a partner (Nugent), I would play King behind and bring him off for Schlupp/Howard if its not working or if King looks tired (like usual). I've totally dropped Fernandes as I'd like to see how good Wellens and Johnson look in central midfield, not sure how fit Johnson is like but Abe would be on the bench just incase. I'd generally like us going forward better, and with Dyer and Vassell we would have the pace on either side. Kasper Peltier -- Mills -- Bamba -- Konchesky Dyer -- Wellens -- Johnson -- Vassell King Beckford Subs: St. Ledger, Abe, Danns, Schlupp, Howard Not sure if Nugent is close, anybody? What no reserve goalie on the bench? thats a bit dangerous
jonthefox Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Boro are doing well so another draw would be decent.
The Doctor Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 What no reserve goalie on the bench? thats a bit dangerous You've got Howard on the bench, I'd trust him in goal more than any of our reserve keepers.
ealingfox Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Nuge says on Twitter: "I'll be in squad wed! Little cameo from bench hopefully!" Kasper Pelts Mills Bamba Konch Abe Fernandes Johnson King Vassell Beckford
Fox92 Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 What no reserve goalie on the bench? thats a bit dangerous I'd never select a goalkeeper on the bench, like Neil Warnock.
Donut Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Middlesbrough have been better than us in every department this season and are better than we are. If they play to their best they will win the game, simple as that
connor_19 Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Gonna be a tough game! I'd go with a 4-2-3-1 Kasper Pelts Mills Bamba Konchesky Johnson Abe Danns King Dyer Beckford 2-1 Win!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 I'd never select a goalkeeper on the bench, like Neil Warnock. Agree with you there.
Donut Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 I think in a bench of 5 players not having a keeper perhaps has some merit to gain another option outfield. But an injured/sent off keeper would be writing off the games where these incidents occured. My gripe is with the 5 subs rule.
Guest MattP Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 What if the keeper gets injured/ sent off? Reason Warnock did that was because he always said he had Jagielka on the bench who could make a league 2 keeper, he always has a player who does extra keeper training in case that situation comes up. I think Hall is his "sub keeper" at QPR
m00nie Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 My gripe is with the 5 subs rule. this... why on earth we all agreed on it is crazy.. how many teams did it actualy effect? probally only a couple..
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 What if the keeper gets injured/ sent off? Thats just the risk really isnt it? Though it is rare for either to happen, but again thats the risk you woudl take.
CKB Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 I'd try a little change in midfield Schmeichel Peltier Mills Bamba Konchesky Abe Danns Fernandes King Vassell Beckford It's to soon for Johnson and Nugent me thinks, so that would be my team with Abe playing more the DM role and Fernandes and Danns injecting hopefully some life in the midfield with King the more advanced midfielder
Guest ttfn Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 I'd go with: Schmeichel Peltier Mills Bamba Konchesky Fernandes King Johnson Danns Beckford Vassell subs: Weale, St. Ledger, Wellens, Nugent, Dyer
Tielemans63 Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Wednesday's game is probably not the time to trial it but I'm sure Danns playing just behind / feeding Beckford could work. I really think Danns is quality, we just need to use him effectively!
GianEmmo Zola Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 442 diamond Schmichael Peltier Konchesky Mills Bamba Wellens Fernandes Abe King Vassell Beckford Pantsil. Danns. Nugent. Johnson.
