muzzy1981 Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Kasp Pelt St ledge Bamb Konch Johnson Wellen Abe Dyer Beckford Nugent Johnson in front of back floor, wellens pushing forward like when came on against brum and Abe and dyer playing wider. Need to develop an option that give us more width when the diamond isn't working.
Father Ted Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Would love to see: Schmeichel Peltier - St Ledger - Bamba Pantsil -----–----------------- Schlupp --------------Abe---------------- Johnson-King Nugent-Beckford. 3-5-2.
Corky Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 This has been an immensely productive fixture in recent years, I can't see it being the same in terms of goals but we do have enough to beat most at home. 2-0 win.
Guest MattP Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Would love to see: Schmeichel Peltier - St Ledger - Bamba Pantsil -----–----------------- Schlupp --------------Abe---------------- Johnson-King Nugent-Beckford. 3-5-2. What the **** is that? 2 right backs, 3 strikers and 2 attacking midfielders squeezed into a formation that doesn't have full backs?
Fox92 Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Watford will park the bus. They will not be open and attacking. I think the game will be more difficult than what people expect. Hopefully we will win, but, I have a horrible feeling about the game.
Jaspa Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 ---------------Kasper Peltier--Ledge--Bamba--Konch ---------Wellens--Gelson Vass-------King/John------Nuge -------------Beckford + Weale, Pantsil, Abe, Dyer, Howard Implementation of a 4-2-3-1, giving us more width but still keeping a strong, fluid, fast and commanding core. Beckford and St Ledger given a real chance to show what their's made of. Carnt fully decide bench because of the retarded 5 rule. 3 - 2 win Go down early, but equalize just before half time, take lead around 60, but defence fail and Sordell nips in, we snatch late winner (maybe contraversial).
Father Ted Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 What the **** is that? 2 right backs, 3 strikers and 2 attacking midfielders squeezed into a formation that doesn't have full backs? Im on my phone so cant format it but its 3-5-2. Pantsil and Schlupp wing backs. Peltier at centre back. Abe, king and Johnson across the middle but Abe sitting deeper. Not rocket science???
Guest MattP Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Im on my phone so cant format it but its 3-5-2. Pantsil and Schlupp wing backs. Peltier at centre back. Abe, king and Johnson across the middle but Abe sitting deeper. Not rocket science??? Adventurous ill give you that! I actually wouldn't mind reverting to the MON type formation, though it would require the recall of the Tunch. I don't think Pantsil should be anywhere near the first team from what I've seen so far. Schulpp is a promising prospect do I can't have him being put a left back. 3-5-2 Kasper Peltier Konchesky Bamba Mills Tunchev (SSL for now) Fernandes Abe Johnson Nugent Beckford I'd happily give that team a shot, it won't happen though, Sven won't go to a new formation now and he also won't drop Vassell.
NewburyFox Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Back 5 picks itself, it would be cruel of Sven not to pick St Ledger I'd like to see Beckford and Nugent start together, and I do actually believe Sven will drop Vassell. I know he doesn't usually, but there comes a point when Nugent and Beckford have to start together in the diamond formation and I reckon that day will arrive on Wednesday. The midfield is extremely difficult to choose. Wellens either plays in the holding role, or not at all. He can't play the role that Danns or Fernandes plays, as he simply doesn't have the energy for it. If Johnson's fitness levels are good enough then I'd bring him in for Danns. We need more creativity in the park, and Johnson and Wellens would definitely provide that. King to start at the head of the diamond, but I want him to get forward more, like he was last season. The bench has got to be different from yesterday. We don't need 6 centre midfielders in a 16 man squad! Weale, Pantsil, Danns/Abe, Vassell/Schlupp/Dyer, Howard. Having Howard on the bench is extremely useful, especially when trying to break down teams. We need more variety on the bench, no point wasting two spots on a 5 man bench with Wellens and Johnson (like we did yesterday) as they're relatively similar players.
stockyfox Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 I know it won't happen but I would like to see this starting XI: ----------------------Kasper S---------------------- Peltier, St Ledger, Sol B, Konchesky -----------------------Abe-------------------------- ----Danns ---------------------------Fernandes --------------------Schlupp------------------------- ---------- Nugent----------Beckford Bench: Weale, Pantsil, Wellens, Vassell, King

Hopefully we will win, but, I have a horrible feeling about the game. An early goal, as ever, is crucial. We are then able to dictate the game.
shiv Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Why is Wellens suddenly back in people's starting XI?? I thought Abe was decent and deserves to keep his place.
Joe. Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Got to win really. Schmeichel Peltier - Bamba - St Ledger - Konchesky Fernandes Johnson - King Vassell - Beckford - Nugent I've got an erection just thinking about that front six.
Tommy G Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 SSL for Mills Beckford for Vassell Johnson for Fernandes
Libertine Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Why is Wellens suddenly back in people's starting XI?? I thought Abe was decent and deserves to keep his place. Because there is absolutely no creativity in the midfield otherwise. I'm not a big fan, I'd rather have MJ but we need one at least.
Super_horns Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 We'll score NONE. You guys usually get 4 against us. So...4-0?
StanSP Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 We'll score NONE. You guys usually get 4 against us. So...4-0? Did you not see us yesterday?! But, if you could arrange that, that'll be lovely

tickler28 Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Ok guys I have to say that I am totally uninspired by the team selections on this website. Defence is spot on but that's the easy part. Below is a team that will never be picked on Wednesday night nor ever....but I would be very interested to hear anyones argument against it being a strong and WELL BALANCED team - not that we'll ever find out?!?! We should've learnt by now the 4 centre mids across midfield is not working (wasn't the reason we won against Derby - players played well that night not formation) nor is the 4-3-3 system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My team if I were manager tomorrow night would be.... Kasper Pelts Bamba St Ledger Konchesky Vassell (Right wing!!) Johnson (Central Midfield) Wellens (Central Midfield) Dyer (Left wing!!) Beckford Nugent Subs: Weale Pantsil Howard Danns Fernandes Plan with this team is in Wellens and Johnson you have strong central midfielders who can both defend and attack also deliver a f***ing decent pass. You have wingers playing on their right sides (feet) who can cross and strikers who can score headers and poach goals. Nugent and Beckford are not going to work together or score unless they get SERVICE!! Nor is Vassell a true out and out striker. F**k the 4-3-3 idea and the diamond formation and lets put on abloddy show....Watford wouldn't see it f***ing coming!!!
Super_horns Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Did you not see us yesterday?! But, if you could arrange that, that'll be lovely Yes but remember we lost to Forest at home...and only just beat Millwall. Just cannot score for toffee.
Callabinho Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 200-0 to us, Sven unleashes the sun from within his arse.
