Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Thjink we'll win, though wouldnt be surprised if we draw. I'l go for 3-1 LCFC.
Guest ttfn Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Got to win really. Schmeichel Peltier - Bamba - St Ledger - Konchesky Fernandes Johnson - King Vassell - Beckford - Nugent I've got an erection just thinking about that front six. I'd go for that. subs: Weale Pantsil Dyer Danns Schlupp But I bet Wellens starts.
MrAus Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Casper Pantsil Peltier Bamba Konchesky Fernandes Wellens Johnson Vassell Beckford Nugent Vassell and Nugent out and out wingers, plenty of pace! Johnson just behind them feeding it out wide all game! Fernandes and Wellens sitting in and doing the dirty work! 3-0
Salieri Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Ok guys I have to say that I am totally uninspired by the team selections on this website. Defence is spot on but that's the easy part. Below is a team that will never be picked on Wednesday night nor ever....but I would be very interested to hear anyones argument against it being a strong and WELL BALANCED team - not that we'll ever find out?!?! We should've learnt by now the 4 centre mids across midfield is not working (wasn't the reason we won against Derby - players played well that night not formation) nor is the 4-3-3 system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My team if I were manager tomorrow night would be.... Kasper Pelts Bamba St Ledger Konchesky Vassell (Right wing!!) Johnson (Central Midfield) Wellens (Central Midfield) Dyer (Left wing!!) Beckford Nugent Subs: Weale Pantsil Howard Danns Fernandes Plan with this team is in Wellens and Johnson you have strong central midfielders who can both defend and attack also deliver a f***ing decent pass. You have wingers playing on their right sides (feet) who can cross and strikers who can score headers and poach goals. Nugent and Beckford are not going to work together or score unless they get SERVICE!! Nor is Vassell a true out and out striker. F**k the 4-3-3 idea and the diamond formation and lets put on abloddy show....Watford wouldn't see it f***ing coming!!! Couldn't agree more, especially at home (although we have got to start being more adventurous away). We desperately need some width and Dyer and Vassell are the only ones who look like they can be genuine wingers. If any more players are to arrive they HAVE to be wingers, this packing the midfield lark is great for keeping possession and all that but in the main, few chance are created. The only downside is ideally you want wingers who can whip in quality crosses and i'm not sure Dyer and Vassell quite have that in their armoury. Sven is trying to use Konchesky and Peltier as full backs/wing backs/wingers all in one but unless you have a Roberto Carlos type player in your side then it's unrealistic. Yes, they get foreward but are unable to deliver a telling cross that will give Beckford and Nugent something to attack. The question is also, which two central midfielders you use? I think (if fit) Johnson has to be one of them. I think you need one who is more attack minded and one who can do the defensive work, which I guess would be Abe/Wellens/Fernandes for one job and Danns/Johnson/King for the other. At least we have plenty of options there! If he's not going to start a match using this system then at the very least he needs to have a Plan B and switch to this when we need to really go for it. That, or just lump big Steve up front and hoof it up to him.
Walshy5 Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Schmeical Peltier St Ledger Bamba Konchesky Johnson Wellens Danns King Beckford Nugent
Thracian Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 Kasper, Peltier, St Leger, Bamba, Konchesky; Vassell, King, Wellens, Dyer, Nugent, Schlupp. Subs: Tunchev (if we can recall him), Fernandes, Danns, Beckford, Howard
He's not bald Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 This and Milwall are must win games, we are well into the season now, Sven has been here long enough , this is his team, his tactics, his call, no more excuses, if we are going to get auto promotion then we simply cannot drop points at home to the likes of Watford and Milwall....simples!!!
lcfcadam Posted 17 October 2011 Posted 17 October 2011 People will be expecting a major reaction after Sunday's debacle. So 1-1 with us netting a late and ultimately undeserved equaliser...

You are on the same wavelength as me and probably a lot of other city fans...Sven by all accounts is a stubborn old bastard though and probably will always do the opposite to what others suggest. Agree about Vassell and Dyer not being best wingers and all we've got. Was hoping rumours regarding Townsend would come to fruition...here's hoping......
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 None of this 'we have no divine right to win games' nonsense...Watford are shite Let's turn em over... Three naught City
norfolkfox222 Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 Why all the ****ing negativity!!??? ''we're shit midweek'' ''we're shit against weaker opposition'' Its time to put a end to that.. Come on, we play like we did against Derby we could destroy them!!! Lets have it Raaawrrrr :scarf: ........... 0-0 ?? haha
Thracian Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 Kasper, Peltier, St Leger, Bamba; Vassell, Abe, King, Wellens, Dyer, Nugent, Sclupp. Subs: Weale, Danns, Fernandes, Howard, Beckford, There wouldn't be some no-go area fixed 10 yards in their half and the team WOULD attack and defend as a team. We'd apply early pressure and Sunday's disgrace would hopefully be fast forgotten.
lcfcliam Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 I think King should be dropped for one game he hasn't been up to scratch this season. I reckon he'd score though coming off the bench. Schmeichel Peltier Sean St.Ledger Sol Bamba Paul Konchesky Danns Wellens Fernandes Vassell Beckford Nugent SUBS : Weale, Howard, King, Abe, Pantsil
Ric Flair Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 Kasper, Peltier, St Leger, Bamba; Vassell, Abe, King, Wellens, Dyer, Nugent, Sclupp. Subs: Weale, Danns, Fernandes, Howard, Beckford, There wouldn't be some no-go area fixed 10 yards in their half and the team WOULD attack and defend as a team. We'd apply early pressure and Sunday's disgrace would hopefully be fast forgotten. That is fairly hideous
Simmo86 Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 Kasper Pelts SSL Bamba Konchesky Gelson Abe Danns Johnson Nugent Beckford 4-2-3-1 Danns & Nugent playing wide isn't ideal, but both provide pace, workrate and alot of energy. Yuki and Gelson need to give the front 4 a platform to get in postions to hurt Watford.
Ric Flair Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 I am tempted to try Nugent, Beckford and Vassell all together, it'll probably be atrocious but we need some form of width and I just can't see Sven picking Dyer. Schmeichel Peltier St Ledger Bamba Konchesky Fernandes King Wellens Vassell Beckford Nugent Subs: Danns, Johnson, Schlupp, Pantsil, Weale
Thracian Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 That is fairly hideous There seems no point having a back four if they can't support properly. Konchesky just stops, slows the play and occasionally delivers an aimless, misplaced cross with no venom. My approach would be to defend high, win the ball early and attack. Yes. I'd like 4-4-2 but with proper attacking full-backs. Where are they? Schlupp is preferred to Beckford because the latter has done sod-all. When he shows himself ready let him play by all means but you know that Schlupp will offer pace, commitment, a few strikes on goal and the right attitude. I always wondered why Everton would let Beckford go but now I think I know. He'll need a big and consistent improvement to convince me. And yes I know he has flair and can shine on occasions. But that's not the end of the job is it? Nothing we do against Watford will change our away performances and attitudes...our clearly flawed philosophy. People talk about games unbeaten but we've failed to win seven out of 11 this season with what is theoretically as good a team as anyone. To me that's appalling. But there's reasons for it and it's time to put them right.

Dan Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 Kasper Peltier - SSL - Bamba - KoncheskyFernandesWellens - King - DannsNugent - VassellSubs; Weale, Pantsil, Dyer, Howard, Schlupp I'm actually sick of five subs, there's literally a player every single game I end up leaving out that doesn't deserve it, this time Abe. Left out Beckford too but to be honest I can't say that's undeserved.
surrifox Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 is Gallagher fit?- I suspect he may be and will certainly be in the squad if he is

Larry_LCFC Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 Anyone know who Watford's 12th man is tomorrow? Better be more consistent than that clown from Sunday.
