ScouseFox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Fernandes' form hasn't been what it was in August/early on, so him being dropped is fair. Wellens has something to prove, and he looked decent on Sunday, so fair enough. Johnson - yes. Nuge/Becks - fucking yes.
Libertine Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Very happy to see Johnson start. That lad oozes class. Yep. First home game for him. With Abe playing he should be able to get forward more which could result in beautiful things.
HoustonFox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Yep. First home game for him. With Abe playing he should be able to get forward more which could result in beautiful things. I hope so and wish this game was on telly rather than the dross I got up at 6:30am on Sunday for!!
Collymore Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 It's written in the stars that King and Beckford will score tonight
General Smuts Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Ideally 1-1 at Half Time with King scoring first between the 21st and 31st minutes and City winning 2-1.
StanSP Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 My lack of confidence and fears have been settled somewhat with that line-up. Very strong going forward but Abe at the back of the diamond will help out the defence. Really want Johnson and Beckford to get their 1st goals for us tonight - will take a hell of a lot of pressure of them and if we score early, it'll settle the whole team, too. Come on Leicester!!
BrummieFOX Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 I'm thinking it's a pretty slow midfield. Feels almost like a sit back and counter team with King supporting front two but not much else. Hope I am proven wrong and we pass them to oblivion. Happy MJ is playing and also time to see if SSL is as good as he thinks he is. Cagey 1-0 I am going for. you don't counter with a slow team, you need pace. Not convinced that Wellens will sit. Prefer him further forward.
stockyfox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 CONGRATULATIONS TO blueblood88. Looking through the thread, bb88 was the only one to name tonight's team correctly. Also bb88 got 4 out of 5 for the bench. Several had ten correct but like I pointed out in my summary, very few had included Abe. Please correct me if I am wrong (Didn't need to say that 'cos I know you wil!)
leicesterisme Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Why do we actually put Weale on the bench? I'd rather have fvcking Yuki in net if Kasper got injured.

shiv Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Strong looking team, and hopefully Wellens proves me wrong by putting in a shift. Shame I can't go to the game
Fox92 Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Pretty sure, or hopefully, Abe will be sitting and not Wellens. Richie is not a defensive midfielder and Yuki is - he has shown in the past he has the ability to mop up etc it is his game. Why do we actually put Weale on the bench? I'd rather have fvcking Yuki in net if Kasper got injured. Exactly my point. Its a waste of a spot, poor Danns misses out this week having done nothing significantly wrong against Birmingham on Sunday. Nottingham Forest was a one off, I doubt Kasper will get sent off again. I'd just take a risk and do a Neil Warnock and not put a goalkeeper on the bench. I do it on football manager
HoustonFox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 you don't counter with a slow team, you need pace. Not convinced that Wellens will sit. Prefer him further forward. Packed midfield with two quick strikers? I don't think we will be bombing forward and whipping crosses in. I think there will be lots of attempts at through balls, hopefully threaded ones rather than long bombs from the back.
wellyfox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Thought that a rule states you have to name a keeper as a sub?
Fox92 Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Thought that a rule states you have to name a keeper as a sub? In Scotland there is, I don't think there is one in English football.
StanSP Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 There is no obligation to name a goal-keeper on your bench. You can pick whoever you want (that's registered).
phildw Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Time will tell if its a strong team tonight - what worries me more is the fact that we are still chopping and changing the team. A settled team gains confidence and gets results - play a different team every week and you will just produce inconsistency which is borne out by us sitting bottom half of the table (hopefully not by 10pm tonight!)
NewburyFox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 No pace in the midfield without Danns, Fernandes and Dyer but hopefully it won't be needed. Worried if Wellens has to keep running over to support the fullback, he proved on Sunday that he can't do that regularly - he just doesn't have the legs for it. Abe is far better as the DM however, and Wellens and Johnson will add some much needed creativity in the middle of the park. Loving the prospect of Nugent and Beckford upfront
Head Honcho Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 4-1 to City Peltier or Iwelumo to score first

Fox Genius Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Pretty sure it'll be Abe Wellens Johnson King Possibly the narrowest midfield yet this season?
Salieri Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Wtf is going on with Foxes Player?! Can't sign in, won't even give me the option to sign in?!

Well we had to make at least one change with Mills out. He kept the same team for Brighton, Derby and Brum (I think).
