Sven sacked?

Like I said, I can see both sides.

There is not 2 sides to this only one.

100 miles eachway 5 days a week can not be good for a pro footballer.

They have the option to move or not and to where they move.

If it's not realistic distance they should move house end off.

If they don't think Leicestershire is good enough for them they should stop the fvck where they are.

Not just take the gold. It's part of the job one they get paid shit loads for.

Okay if the kids are coming upto exams they sit them then the player moves.

No probs with a few months but if it is players like wellins n gally.

Sorry No Fvcking Excuse.

So Svens gone and a new mans coming in with the same problem :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh: :crylaugh:

They should have backed sven if this is true and Fvcked the players off.

Alex McLeish trying to do the same at Villa as well. He was on SSN a few days ago talking about it saying he was taking a hard line. I wonder if Sven was a bit too nice on this one?

Does Danns commute too? His Twitter location comes up as Liverpool?

Danns has an apartment in Leicester, i remember him tweeting pictures when he first moved in.

If this is the true about the players then they should be ashamed.

I'm neither surprised nor disappointed by this. I always felt that the period around the international breaks circa games 10-16 would be the key period for Sven - as his sacking would always give AFI plenty of leeway to bed in a new manager before the January window.

It wasn't really working, was it? We owe him thanks for taking a punt on us, attracting some good players to the club and generally upholding the good name of LCFC. But lets be realistic - he's never going to make it at this level of English football because the tactics and the management style don't wash in the Championship. There's no upward curve in performance or results for the Svenistas to point at. For afficianados of 'building for the future', 'youth policy' and the frankly overrated benefits of 'time', go watch Crewe or Arsenal or some other team that hasn't done anything in centuries.

Yes, Sven was a gent - but I don't care if our next manager locks his Granny in the basement as long as he's delivering the goods. Really, if you don't believe that money can buy success in football then you need a 'Sunday at Old Trafford'-style reality check. Of course it bloody can buy you success - and quickly if you get the playing personnel and the Champo savvy behind the scenes.

Let's be serious - Billy Davies or Dave Jones could take this squad up this season with a couple in/out in January in key positions (bizarrely, probably in midfield). And on an 18-month contract, they could be quickly got rid of in June once the job was done.

Having said all that, I expect Top to be shaking hands with Diego Maradona, resplendent in full Gaddafi-esque military attire and firing off rounds of live ammunition from the roof of a Hummer, as they whirl round the KPS dog track before the Leeds game.

Shame - back to the drawing board and another season wasted. This should have gone to christmas, at least we can stop defending Sven now and maybe we can all pick on the new manager together. Team spirit - go Billy Davies, ho hum

Surely not considering he's not played for anyone up north for years. Johnson might do though.

Thought Johnson was a season loan.

If so you can't expect him to move.

why is it another season wasted??

we have big decent squad to still get promotion.

just because thy thought sven wasnt up tp the job dont mean its impossible..

think one of the reasons they have done it so early is that we are still within a shout.

To be honest, with what they're earning, it's not too much to expect players to have an apartment here and a main home elsewhere. I know if I were a player and had the choice of finding something local or a 100+ mile round trip every day getting up at stupid o'clock to make training, I'd get flat hunting.

wanted Sven to succeed but coming towards the end of october, being inconsistent and that very poor result against struggling millwall i'm not surprised.

sven knew what was required, he had a full preseason, good backing, relaid pitch and better facilities at the training ground and yet for some reason the team was just not responding to the way he wanted them to play :dunno:

it all seemed to start going wrong after chrissy p. left for charlton last season, maybe he was the link between the dressing room and the management :dunno:

As in he wanted the players to be living within a certain distance of Leicestershire and a few of the players kicked up, got pissed off and the Millwall preparation was then forked, hence the dreadful display and result.

Yet he STILL gave Wellens the captain's armband, despite the fact alternatives were available and that Wellens had let us down badly in the Bristol City game?

Even the manager who brought Wellens to Leicester never trusted him to be skipper.

This is the second manager in a year that Wellens has shafted. But his ego is only one that an incoming manager will have to cut down to size. Beckford, Bamba and St Ledger are others that need to be firmly managed.

There clearly are some egos in the squad as is.

I hate to keep harking back to the Pearson era, but there seemed to be a great camaraderie in the squad that somehow isn't evident now. Egotists and disruptive influences, Mattock and Campbell for example, were farmed out sharpish.

Sven may be a gentleman and a thoroughly nice bloke, but I can't help thinking we need someone who can be an arse and instill fear in the egos.

O'Neill or Davies then.
