But he's got a point.

Why??? He went to Villa.............. In all seriousness i cant see him coming either but who are these "bigger fish"

And the bigger fish without a manager atm are or did the fvck wit not say :crylaugh:

I don't really see MoN returning but not for that reason.

Would you want to loose the god status?

Sorry pal, looks like you had already said what i was thinking !!!!! :scarf:

On balance, it's probably the right decision.

- We're almost into November and cannot name our first choice eleven, nor decide on the best way of setting up the team.

- The same problems keep resurfacing. The Millwall and Bristol City game were eerily similar in the same frailties.

- Money has been spent on the team, yet we are performing well below the sum of our parts.

I can't help but feel that the coaching set-up was part of the problem. I'd like somebody else's opinion who has a better knowledge on coaching at the club, but the set-up of Fazackerley and Stowell does not strike me as particularly adept. I think this has been more damaging to Sven than anything else.

Would love to see MON here, of course but Had the Thais been in charge when MON was here first time around then he would of been sacked after the Sheff utd game...

Tad harsh considering we are two points off of 5th place.

He's gone now though... feel sorry for the guy.

Only 5 wins in 13 says you're spot-on

There's always been a groupe of people saying, "but what if" or "win the next game and xyz will happen"

The problem was that could go on ad-infinitum with Sven winning one, losing one & drawing one which isn't good enough.

What if the next manager doesn't get us promotion this season?

In all honesty we've never been massive, I'm old enough to remember the bad old days BC (Before Clough) when crowds were below 10000. Ticket prices are a joke, against Derby all tickets were £33 and they wondered why it wasn't full.

On a different note, do you honestly think MON is a realistic prospect? I reckon your owners wouldn't cough up enough money after all they've already spent. MON fell out with the Villa board because they wouldn't spend enough money

Our tickets are £38 I think for the big games and over £25 in a lot of areas for normal matches.

And no I don't think MON would come.

I have always seen MoN as an honourable man so i see little truth in this.

Unless they have asked him for advise.

He left us, after toying with us over other appointments, just after he promised to see stay.

That doesn't make me a MON hater though, before someone jumps to conclusions.

Sven has lost his job because of three results

BCFC but at the time we did'nt realise how bad that looked.

BCFC away no disgrace loosing to them. But the manner was near fatal

Millwall with a record like they have. that was fatal.

As the league stands reverse the two home defeats a draw at brum.

And where are we then top 2 sven's a god and safe no calling to sack him.

And peeps on here claiming they seen him walking down the cut on his lunch break.

Lets get a few things straight. The Sven haters had no more influence on the Thais than the Sven bummers. The board appointed Sven and the board sacked him. Nothing to do with anyone on here.

All this blame and accusations is pointless. Sven's gone, nothing we can do about it. I'm disappointed but life goes on.

From a cynical point of view, of how football has become globally, I can't help but believe that the motivation to appoint Sven as manager in the first place was not for his his managerial prowess but for his contacts. Only the naive believe the Thais are fans of the football club or even the game in general, it's the brand they are interested.

Sven is associated by having contacts in the higher echelons of the game and the failure to attain a 'name' player especially in regard to the Beckham links, has not worked out as the Thais intended. Although the News of the World was a vile scum of an institution, it did show Sven to tout himself to prospective rich owners of football clubs with his 'contacts'.

Needless to say the way of getting out of this division is a combination of having the nouse, luck and quality players to make it happen. Or better still, a system with the right players with the right roles. Something which cannot be applied to Sven's tenure at the club in what has been seen.

One final point, Sven is a gentleman and it was evident that the project that LCFC provided him was an exciting one. For whatever reason (high pressure/expectation on players, poor tactical application etc) it didn't work out in his time. That's not the to say that it wouldn't have with time but that has never been a trait associated with this football club.

Then the regular haters can just simply blame Sven . Easy.

On the other hand if someone comes in as does well the Pro-Sven lot can tell us all it's his players.

From the Guardian website:

"Eriksson had also become frustrated with the lack of progress and was so upset after Saturday's performance that he called an emergency meeting with the players on Monday morning and told them he was fortunate to still be in a job. He divided the players into three separate groups and asked them to write down why they thought things were going so badly wrong. By that point, however, the wheels were already in motion behind the scenes to remove Eriksson from his position."

Sounds like things had become really quite desperate at Belvoir Drive. It also suggests that, while his sacking was a huge shock for us, it wasn't for Sven.

What an utterly terrible, short-sighted decision.

Many of these points have been made elsewhere, but I am fuming at this.

Sven brought most of these players in. Ok, they haven't gelled as a unit yet, but by and large we are agreed that they are players easily good enough to get us up. They did not sign to wear a fox on their chest; they signed for a shit load of money and a chance to play for one of the most highly respected managers in the world.

It is clear that the issue was not the players we'd got in but how they were fitting together as a team. Sven's biggest mistake was not getting in a proper first team coach after Hamann's departure. This placed a lot of pressure on Sven and Faz to deliver the coaching side; something which is certainly not Sven's strong point. Arguably Sven should have jettisoned Fazackerly to save himself, because it's clear that the match preparation was lacking.

The players themselves also need to take a long, hard, look at themselves. They have not performed to the standards they have achieved in the past, and ultimately they are largely responsible for costing a man his job.

As for the Thais, they've shown that they have no idea what they are doing. We are 2 points off the play-offs, it's not like the promotion dream is dead or dying. I was as disappointed as anyone else on Saturday, having travelled a total of 400 miles to watch 2 crap games of football in a week. But Sven has proven himself as a class-act, and has taken 78 points from 48 games as manager despite rarely having the opportunity to have a stable squad.

It's their money, but it's our club. Once again, we're the laughing stock of the division.

I've always admired Sven's quiet dignity and calm manner. It may be 20 years until we get another manager to come through our revolving door with a CV as glittering as his, but it will be a lot longer than that before we get a greater gentleman.

Sven, it's been a pleasure.

Must....not.....cry....

Edit my post so you can reply to half of what I put.

Yes left after he was told he could talk to his dream club.

And after a running battle with pierpoint.

And being spat on at the start by our fans.

Did you also know Celtic were refusing to pay the compensation.

Mon told em to pay or he would walk.

Also never asked to talk to leeds or newcastle just never stated he was not going.

Not sure what to make of this, got fairly mixed thoughts.

On the one hand he was a nice guy and managed to bring in some cracking players, and got us playing good football.

On the other hand our performances seemed to be getting worse, and the performance on Saturday was woeful.

Came as a shock so not sure what else I can add!

Sven lost the players/dressing room. And only recently too.

couldn't anyone get Sven a map to the dressing room Bert?

Posted

As in he wanted the players to be living within a certain distance of Leicestershire and a few of the players kicked up, got pissed off and the Millwall preparation was then forked, hence the dreadful display and result.
