17th Sept. UK release date?? Is that true? I read that as the US release date and thought we'd get it a bit later

Worldwide release data apparently. They do it with some games

If not, standard practice is NA - Tuesday Europe - Friday so it'll be 21st. But I should imagine this will follow international release date like most massive games.

I can pretty much guarantee this will release world-wide on the same day, the only delays will be localised Asian versions and a PC port (as per GTA IV). I remember back in the days hearing about SNES/PS1 (etc) games I'd want coming out in America and then having to wait months before they bothered to release them hear

The only thing I'm worried about is Rockstar has a habit of pushing back release dates to fine-tune their games. I have a sneaking suspicion that there will be a late twist in this tale:

- PS4 is already announced to be released in December. This will probably be pulled forward to November to increase Christmas sales

- The E3 conference is in June. Almost certain that Microsoft will use this (or perhaps stage a separate event) to unveil the Xbox 360's successor. My guess is that unlike the PS4 announcement, Microsoft will have the physical console on show and will be available at around the same time as the PS4

- Either Sony/Microsoft will pay Rockstar millions to have this as a timed exclusive for their next-generation console release. Sony had GTA San Andreas as a timed exclusive (was PS2 console-exclusive for 8 months before the Xbox version shipped). Microsoft had GTA IV's Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony episodes as timed-exclusives, the former being delayed for over a year before being available on PS3

So to sum up, I think there is a good chance this won't actually release until December. And as a launch-title for PS4 or Xbox 3 - it'd be a massively-effective system-seller

But that's just guess work so... yes, the current plan is a world-wide release on Xbox 360 and PS3 for 17th September 2013.

No chance, this game has been deisigned and developed for current gen. consoles, to shake it up this far down the line would be a huge risk for R"

Im sure there are more titles that could be used to boost sales, Sony have the remenents of Bungie developing a blockbuster not to mention other titles like God of War ect. As for the 360 successor its pure speculation atm.

I guess your worries are possible, but Im confident we'l have this in September

Surely it would have been devloped on ps3/360 dev systems so it would take a whole lot of coding to make it a ps4 release.

you never know though it would ****ing epic if they released it for the new gen consoles, 360 graphics are looking shoddy at the moment.

Plus that Watch dogs is coming out on ps3 and ps4 so its deffinatly possible but can't see it.

It was just a guess, but the PS4 is out this year, Sony probably had development kits (or at the technical specifications) in circulation with major developers for the last 2 years, so Rockstar would have had plenty of time to optimise, if they wished to release on the new systems. Just a guess!

There is surely going to be a next gen version of this game for the new consoles. It would make sense to do one.

Assassins Creed Black Flag will be available on the new consoles, so imo Rockstar will do the same treatment with this.

Yep, maybe about six month's worth, so if you started in March, it would be done by about September. Those months ring a bell.

But personally I don't think they'll be stupid enough to piss everyone off like that. If they had always planned it as a next gen game then fair enough, but to dangle the carrot and then pull it away would be too immoral.

Possibly, there'll be plenty of ways to make money. I hope they include the drug-dealing aspect from GTA Chinatown Wars, that was a brilliant subgame

3 NEW trailers coming tomorrow, one for each playable character

IGN will be posting an article on gameplay impressions on Thursday too, which I believe will be the first actual gameplay preview from any press. Can't wait

Oh right; you honestly made me think that for a moment

Anyway, back in Fev/March, Microsoft put something up on the dashboard to say they where having 4 of the editors for GTA IV play for a couple hours that night, so I tried to join them (to no avail) and sent a message to a couple of them. Lastnight, I recieved a friends request off one of them :)

Gameplay trailer released today I believe. Watch this space....

Doubtful, there's 3 characters trailers out later, but Rockstar North tend to keep the actual gameplay footage wrapped up until the very last minute. The trailers will use all in-game graphics, but unlikely that any of it is actual in-game play. Course I could be wrong...

You can tell its gone a long way forward in cinematic graphics, the facial expressions are almost spot on. But you can also tell theyre trying to hit target personas in the three . . . . for marketing maybe.

Cant wait :)
