whoareyaaa Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 I thought this. I have failed a few (the one where you fly the crop duster onto the cargo plane took me a few go's) but so far I've not found any of them overly hard. But, they've been far more entertaining than the drug related shoot-offs you had in 90% of the missions on GTA IV. I used to defend IV and whilst I don't think it was a disgrace, this game puts it to absolute shame. Yeh I've also failed quite a few of the missions many times but it just seems that the majority of the missions are pretty straightforward... not much thinking to be done. But yeh the missions are a 100x better than IV and the game is on a different level all round. Think I've played 60 hours in the single player mode, I've never played a game this long before.

The character trio is their best idea in the whole thing too in my opinion. I wasn't at all keen on the idea at first and I'm pretty sure I'm not on my own in saying that, but it's a masterstroke, three completely different types of people who link up excellently to play out a cracking storyline. Best game I've ever played and by a distance too.
Tincy Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 This could of been so so much better! Just put my copy on eBay
Foxhateram Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 This could of been so so much better! Just put my copy on eBay Tincy has gone fishing he will return in a few hours to see what he's caught.
Tincy Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Tincy has gone fishing he will return in a few hours to see what he's caught. Not at all, missions to easy and very samey, don't even get me started on the online part of the game
Legend_in_blue Posted 22 October 2013 Posted 22 October 2013 Not at all, missions to easy and very samey, don't even get me started on the online part of the game Plenty to look forward to, Nov 29 being one of them!
LestaFox92 Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 Not at all, missions to easy and very samey, don't even get me started on the online part of the game Considering they've just made one of the best single player games ever and the fact they probley had 10million+ people trying to connect to the online and it's very playable which for a game company that has never done a game on the scale of a MMO in terms of the player-base it's pretty fvcking amazing it even works never mind the fact it's a alot of fun when you lighten up and take it for what it is.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 missions very samey I don't know what to say... this has got to be the most varied game in the world You've got your bog-standard assassinations and car thefts which are a staple, then there's heists, diving missions, towing missions, sky-diving, boat/road/off-road racing, stealth, infiltrations, playable drug trips, triathlons, cycling races, good/bad samaritan opportunities, stock markets, smuggling runs, dog-walking, stunt jumps, chases, huge shootouts, roller coaster, flight school, car modification, business ventures, hunting, yoga, golf, tennis, shooting ranges... I did a mission involving mopping. Mopping. In a video game. Not only that, it was actually pretty detailed and as a result was itself quite fun. I'll repeat. Mopping. Now compare that list to any other game
Jace Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 Personally I thought it was brilliant 1 of the best computer games of all time if not the best. I struggle to see how anyone can have a problem with it to be honest
Legend_in_blue Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 It's good but it's not up there with the best in terms of difficulty. Current gen it would be in my top ten list of games, but not top five.
whoareyaaa Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 Just been playing it for the last 3/4 hours, there is so much to do... just been skydiving off the top off a building and then on a ATV out the back of plane. wooooooohooooo
Jace Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 Agree its not too difficult, but to be honest I prefer that with the length and depth of the game if it was difficult I would never get round to finishing it I think!
DennisNedry Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 GTA V is a good game but the best of all time? Not for me by a long way. The game I was playing before GTA V was The Last of Us which is far, far better. If you're looking at R* Games or open world games specifically, I rate Read Dead Redemption or LA Noire higher than GTA V too.

Legend_in_blue Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 I couldn't stand Red Dead! It was soooo dull. Time to compile a list of the top games current gen - I'll have a think, start up a new thread.

Loved RDR, and while I enjoyed LA Noire, I wouldn't say either were as good as GTA V. I actually think GTA V is streets ahead of LA Noire. As for the last of us, I think I'm one of the few people who really didn't enjoy it.
morris1234 Posted 23 October 2013 Posted 23 October 2013 Amazing game, did enjoy rdr and thought la noir was brilliant too. For sheer enjoyment, fallout 3 can't be topped for me. This is amazing though! I enjoy games that aren't 100% about what the company can get from online play and games that have long, detailed single player campaigns.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Agree its not too difficult, but to be honest I prefer that with the length and depth of the game if it was difficult I would never get round to finishing it I think! Correct It's also how you term difficulty - unlike other games, I think GTA makes you set your own challenges. Yes many of the story missions can be completed with relative ease, but... - can you survive a 5-star wanted level for 10 minutes? - can you win a full match of tennis at top difficulty? - can you land all the stunt jumps? - can you get all gold medals in flight school? - can you get all gold medals in ALL story missions? Those are rhetorical. I don't think the story missions were meant to be particularly difficult - Rockstar tells a great story, they want you to see this story at your own pace, and make a few choices. It's what pushes the story-telling to do things that cinema and books can't achieve. The achievements/trophies, personal bests, medals, leaderboards and multiplayer are there for those looking for a more traditional challenge. I think people forget the story missions in GTA games make up about 25% of the actual game, and is usually the easiest part
lgfualol Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Anyone else playing with the stocks? I've made a ton of money somehow.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Haven't got into online yet, I must say on reflection I think I enjoyed IV's story more this felt rushed.
MC Prussian Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Haven't got into online yet, I must say on reflection I think I enjoyed IV's story more this felt rushed. I'd say the story proceeds as you wish to play it - it's up to the individual to fill in the gaps between the main missions with all kinds of other in-game activities. You rush the main story according to your own decision(s).
Dan Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Haven't got into online yet, I must say on reflection I think I enjoyed IV's story more this felt rushed. The storyline on IV was OK but nothing special. It was just a load of people chasing diamonds and a load of drug shoot outs.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 24 October 2013 Posted 24 October 2013 Idk I just thought IV flowed a lot better than V, I found the ending very underwhelming whereas I really enjoyed IV's two endings. The three options for V were pretty awful tbh

In all honesty that was one of the greatest endings to a game I've witnessed, and completely took me by surprise. I don't know what you were hoping for
