Hull refuse us permission to approach Pearson

Bizarre decision. Surely they had some hand in his leaving the first time, so why would he trust them to come back? This also suggests that most other attempts and applications have failed if 2 weeks on they are just asking for permission to speak to an employed manager.

Come on Top, get this sorted please!

We have got a poor recruitment panel.Top.Susan Whelan,Andrew Neville.get a man who knows football ie Birch,Alan Young.

Have any of you forgotton what NP did for us ... im quite excited at the prospect :)

I'm in too minds to be honest. Whilst his discipline and organisation was second to none, I don't wanna return of his "dull" football. Or was that just the only way he could play baring in mind the players he had at his disposal?

Baring that in mind, I'd hope that we'd still play attacking, exciting football with just a better organised defence.

Certainly wouldn't be as disastrous as bloody Keano.

Nigel Pearson's influence is still in the team and he deserves the chance to take us on and hopefully will be given it. The advantage would be that he was not starting from scratch. He will be well received and shouldn't have been manouevered out in the first place. The gap may have done us all good because that 2nd leg in Cardiff was such a disappointment because we came so close. I would still support a move for MON as well.

So I assume we've spent the last two weeks approaching and being rejected by quite a few managers and now we're looking to speak to Pearson, who may also reject us, which will leave us back at square one without a ****ing clue what we are doing. I'm struggling not to see this as a total farce now. The owners have had a shocker.

We should all be praying Pearson agrees to join, but I think there's a good chance he'll say no, and then we're confirmed as the bigest bunch of plonkers in the football league.

Now we have a reputation for sacking managers at the drop of a hat, this is what we have to expect. I smell panic in the boardroom....We only have ourselves to blame.

Do my eyes deceive me or have I just read a post saying the club should have asked people who know about football to help them make a decision?? And was 1 of them names Alan Young.😂😂laughing out loud

What do football managers say " Never Go Back " i for one think we can do better than Nigel with football thats good to watch.

Tell Tony Pulis that. and Harry Redknapp when he was at Pompey.

Not my 1st choice, but wonder where we'd be if he hadn't left for the year and a half, avoiding the disastrous Sousa & under-achiever Sven.

I can't see him getting anywhere near the same funds Sven half wasted though.

If no MoN or Hughes I'd quite happily say come on home Pearson, he's a better option than Jones who they've obviously spoke to, does make me wonder why not Davies though or perhaps it's his unpopularity on here.

If people won't join us, presumably with a division leading pay packet & transfer fund, what more can they do.

I can't help feeling unhappy about this. Pearson is not a bad manager, but couldn't we have done better? Not necessarily a 'name', but someone with a more positive outlook. If the Thais are looking for someone to bore our way into the PL.........then Pearson could well be the best candidate.

Bore our way to the prem or rot in the championship conceding goals every game??

Seriously get a grip! He did well here last time, knows how to get results and finds decent young players who want to play for Leicester rather than coming just for the money.

Would you really complain if he bore us to the prem???

Will he still be manager, should we get promotion??

I don't understand why we want Nige back.

It seemed to me that when he left, we were basically admitting his style of football, his judgment of certain players and the man himself didn't fit our teams future. And I settled on this, and thought of it as the end of a era for our football club and as progress.

-He's further shown his preferred style of play, and hasn't really improved Hull much.

&

I dread the idea of Fryatt & Hobbs back by September.

Would rather have Sparky or the MK boss

I hope this is a ploy to get certain people to make up their mind.

MON or Hughes?

It could be that the owners have purposely left it until now for the minimal disruption to Hull given there is now a two week break for the internationals and for them to have a new manager in place in time for the re-start. Perhaps we are trying to do the honourable thing.

Posted

Why do it on a matchday? Odd. Unless they want to unveil him at the match, which would also be odd.

They want him ASAP - didn't want to do it before Hull's due to being professional about the whole situation.

The treatment of Sven has been widely frowned upon..........rightly or wrongly. I can only think that all previous candidates have seen our club as a massive risk. The board may have made promises.........but promises mean jack in football.

I was never confident that MON would ever come back.........as much as I would want that to happen. I never expected a big name, but there were so many on the list before Pearson. He seems to be good at steadying an unsteady ship & that is exactly what we are........good luck to him.

MON isn't daft & didn't see it as an opportunity. We seem more likely to ruin the career of any decent managers out there.

This whole saga could have been handled so much better

It's standard procedure.

Now it's up to Pearson, if he wants to come back all he needs to do is go to Hull's chairman and tell them he wants out.

Compo will be agreed and he will be on his way.

Sky sports

How people read what they want into things!!! it said Sky sources not sky sport, one major difference SOURCE just means somebody not ( Hull, Pearson or Leicester) has re-started a rumour

Posted

This is concrete news not bullshit.

How do you know it aint bullshit, it states skysport source, notice how they put SOURCE that is incase the rumour is wrong

Pearson falls out with Hoos.

Leicester show new owners around the club without Pearson's knowledge.

Hull make an approach.

Leicester had an opportunity to deny any clubs that wanted to speak to him but didn't.

Pearson resigns based on the fact Leicester never blocked the approach thinking he wasn't wanted.

Pearson joins Hull.

Pearson states he's now at a club working for people who clearly want him to stay there and be their manager.

Leicester make an approach for Pearson.

:dunno:

This is a farce.

Pearson left because he had a massive bust up with Lee Hoos.

Hoos is no longer in the employment of the club, so that issue it resolved.

Fair enough, I do understand that, but surely the owners must at least have had knowledge of Pearson's success and requested that the stayed/let them make the decision?

If not, and Sousa then was Mandy's last appointment, it kind feels like a bit of a vindictive parting gift...

Oh, and for the record, I was miffed about Pearson leaving for Hull, but I'm not certain him coming back is a massive step forward.

Can't believe what's going on at our club.

Thought we would have had someone lined up like Sven was! But we clearly havn't.

So we advertise the post and I would think we had targets in mind but clearly none of them could have been interested.

So we look through the applicants and it appears none of them are suitable.

So now we approach Hull for Pearson!

Surely having not been successful with MON, Then Hughes, Davies, Jones and AN other would be just as safe a bet???

A bit unfair, I thought he did a top job over the summer.

It begs the question what do we want promotion this season or next season? if MON wanted a short term contract we should have obliged. I certainly do admire NP from his time here, his teams were very organized and players knew what their roles were. He will certainly get results. Whether he can cut it in the prem I don't know.
