lcfcnugent Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 one thing that has been really annoying over the past few seasons is that we cant have a manager for a decent amount of time. I know that the owners want premiership this season but if that doesn't happen, he shouldn't be sacked because it is wasting money
Mack Posted 10 November 2011 Author Posted 10 November 2011 I think if nothing gets done tomorrow we should just tell them to get lost. I agree. And I still don't understand why it took two weeks for our owners to reach the conclusion they wanted Pearson.
Guest shearfox Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 To be honest I don't blame Hull for this because it's a win win situation for them as they could demand a lot of money off us for pearson or keep a good manager like Pearson at the KC" Pearson will not manage Hull anymore, surely he sent the fans and players a clear message he would rather be somewhere by asking to talk with us. That kind of makes it difficult for him to continue at Hull
Leicesterpool Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 Billy Davies is simply a roundabout gets a team to the play offs & get's hammered. The only time he's took a club up was Derby, made them a laughing stock of the premier league 13points off 38 games.
Libertine Dream Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 What manager will want to come in KNOWING he is 2nd choice at best, it would take a desperate one to do so. Just look at what has happened to Beckford. Only option now is to pay the money or end up in a deeper mess. Problem with throwing all your money about is everybody wants a piece of it.

He may know he is second choice but if he feels he can prove his worth the gains would be massive.
look_back_in_amber Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 Also how much compo would you have to pay on a 18 month £500,000 contract? Would it really be more than £1,000,000 (i.e. more than your earnings? You're forgetting Shakey & Walsh
Libertine Dream Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 He may know he is second choice but if he feels he can prove his worth the gains would be massive. Well it could, but it could go the same way as Beckford, everybody knows he wasn't even 2nd maybe even 3rd choice, and he is currently showing why that was the case.
Smudge Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 And until it's settled he wont be able to manage another club, I don't profess to know all the ins and outs but it's pretty clear to me that resigning wont help or resolve the current impasse if they're not prepared to accept it I 'hear' what you are saying but I don't understand it. if you can, please answer me this; under what law of State or football authority can he prevented from working elsewhere?
look_back_in_amber Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 I agree. And I still don't understand why it took two weeks for our owners to reach the conclusion they wanted Pearson. Erm, because they DIDN'T want Pearson, but who they DID want didn't want them
Vlad the Fox Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 He should go back and manage hull if this can't be sorted. Send the loan players back, put the keeper on the wing and the strikers in defence. Get the smallest youth player in goal and play 1 1 8. Then they'll soon sack him. And then he's ours.
look_back_in_amber Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 What manager will want to come in KNOWING he is 2nd choice at best,. Erm, Nigel Pearson apparently has no problem with it

Pearson was about Mandaric's 5th choice back in 08 after Holloway got the push. For example, Mandaric made a public approach to the franchise for Paul Ince and was rebuffed.
wurmer Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 I reckon this is looking dead... Stupid for both parties really...
Happy Fox Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 The situation is a farce to say the least we cannot dilly dally for much longer the question I have is why we didn't approach Pearson during those first two weeks he clearly wasn't our first choice. We need to move on fast and get Billy Davies or in the unlikely scenario persuade MON and give him all the assurances he wants.

We should just give MON a short term deal if we can't get Pearson better than anything else
teblin Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 It'll be sorted. Just both are playing hard ball at the moment
easilee Posted 10 November 2011 Posted 10 November 2011 Like so many others, LCFC are a medium sized club with the potential to become a big club..
