Sad thing was she was right, but yes, it was a racist comment in the terms people use to describe racism in this day and age. Its not the first time Somali girls get drunk off their tits starting street brawls and its certainly won't be the last time, I can assure you. Someone said something very similar to me yesterday. The whole country is off its tits on Khat usually anyway.

'you lot' doesn't necessarily refer to caucasian, or British. It COULD just be a reference to stupid people, single mothers (not saying Tram Woman is a single mother, but could have been a perception), racists, BNP supporters or just ugly people. Chances are though it was just a verbal retaliation cos she was p***ed off with the mad rantings of Tram Woman. If I was on public transport and someone started going about how baldies don't pull their weight in the economy cos they don't buy so much shampoo, I'd eventually retaliate and might well use 'you lot' to mean all hairy people

Clearly very uneducated (a common factor for many racists), who tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if she was on benefits herself and not contributing to the country too. I was born here, lived here all my life, and consider myself as British as the next person- and I love this country as much as her, if not more! Although I understand some annoyances to some of the attitudes of some of the 'foreign' community- some shared by me- her total generalisation shows a total lack of knowledge. Somalian group incident- total disgrace. First of all, religion should never be used as an excuse for crime (even though they've shown they're not very religious!). Secondly, even as an Asian myself, I agree that had it been the reverse, it would be dubbed as a racist attack- as I believe it was. They chose themselves to drink, so its their own fault if they can't handle it- and should still be accountable for their actions. Also, I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone tries to repeat this 'excuse' in a court for similar crime, and tbf, if they can portray that they're 'not used to alcohol', how can they possibly be given a different punishment?! Any decent defence lawyer could just bring this up... 150 hours of community service for beating someone senseless?!- what a complete joke.

But... the newspaper I read didn't quote him as saying the reason they weren't going to prison was that they weren't used to drink. It just said it was part of the defences case. Just because that was part of their defence doesn't mean that has anything to do with their sentence, or lack there of. Apologies if this was said in other news outlets, but it wasn't in my paper. I know of someone who was attacked from behind and nearly died in a street attack, the person who did that only got a few years suspended sentence. Forget the muslim excuse etc, concentrate on the fact that you pretty much have to kill someone, run up a list of offences as long as your arm, or not pay your council tax to go to prison these days.
