I rushed my formation and training this year as I just wanted to blaze pre-season anticipating walking the champ (which everyone is doing.)

I should be prem by Friday, I will tweek my tactic (I am using 4 2 2 2, yes) and upload both it and my schedules at the weekend.

I really can't decide on a formation to start with....

4-1-2-1-2: fits well with the lack of quality wingers. Get to accomodate 2 strikers. Too narrow though?

4-5-1 / 4-3-3: Solid defensively. But can only play one striker. No great wingers so would have to buy (maybe Dyer can do a job initially).

4-4-2: Can play wingers and 2 up top. But a bit old fashioned and maybe lacking in the middle of the park.

Hmmm..... help?

Gallagher deep lying forward and beckford poaching were immense for me. Nugent was disappointing. Anyone got promoted yet? Struggling to attract players. Got lacina traore, drenthe and hargreaves. Gonna be a rough season

Things are picking up. Been on a good run in the league and through the semi finals of the League Cup (although 3-1 down after the first leg at White Hart Lane - Gally's late penalty keeping the tie just about alive).

Enjoying the team talks more, seem to be able to have a bit more control over what you are saying alhough I've notices Sol Bamba seems to get the hump no matter what I say, especially after a win the mardy bstard!

No problems with Steam, it downloaded in about 40 minutes or so (I plugged an ethernet cable into the router to speed things up). Happy (reasonably) to pay £30 for it.

One small potential problem - does anyone know how to set Steam up so you can play "offline" ? Going to the Lake District next week and should hopefully get some good playing time in the evenings once the kids are in bed. I read you have to enable "go offline" mode, but you need to be connected in order to do this? So I'll have to do it before I go, right? Anyone had any experience of this?

Really, really struggled to get a winger in, so disappointing. Nobody would join me - even on loan. Small club. Anyhow, played 2 in the Prem, beating Blackburn 4-2 at home (Cissé with a brace) and lost 2-1 away at Bolton despite having the better of the game. Also beat Sheff Weds in the cup at Hillsborough. Would be delighted to achieve a lower-mid-table finish with the midfield options I have.

I’ve started with City. I play a 4-1-3-2 and keep it narrow. Sold Abe to Norwich for £1.9 million, loaned Schlupp out to Bristol City. Took Howard off the transfer list purely because I can.

Signed Tobias Figureido (£1.3 million), Moeller (£500k), and Ryder Matos (£4.9 million). Matos was an expense I probably didn’t need but he was a beats on my last game and I couldn’t miss out on him. The fans love the Moeller signing though.

Won 3 out of 4 and drew the other. Beckford and Nuge both scoring. Playing with City you actually don't need to sign anyone. Joint top with Boro and through to the 2nd round of the league cup. Steady start and I’m quite pleased.

I've started again with my team - I wasn't doing great and only had English leagues selected so thought I'd start from scratch.

I have Arsenal as a parent team - they immediately sent Oxlade Chamberlain on loan to me - bonus! Decent player without having to pay his wages.

Played 7 or 8 games so far, winning them all. Vassell and Dyer are both ripping teams apart. Wellns as a deep laying playmaker and King as an advanced playmaker are both doing well.

I've set Vassell as a target man when the ball is played to feet - I set the tactis accordingly. "pass to feet, play through the middle"

Nugent as a target man when the ball is played in the air - again setting tactis accordingly. "get ball forward, play wider, pass in to spaces" Absolutely flying at the moment.

I use the Peruvian youngster from our U 18s as an attacking winger - with his role set to cross often aiming for the target men. Doing great, training is progressing well too.

On the match stats page it tells you how far your players have run (eg 5.1 km etc), but it claims my goalie ran 2.3km in a match. Which I think is a little unlikley....

Top of the League after 16 games with 41 points. Darwin Quintero is a hero, much man love for him right now. 19 in 19 What a little legend.

Gonna need winger/inside forward recommendations. Any ideas? Would Kadlec/John Fleck still come?

Try Nacer Barazite. He's looking much better in this version.

I asked the board to buy him for me in January 'cos I had no money left and they've agreed and signed him. :chant:

Oh and get Miyaichi on loan from Arsenal, been very good for me so far.

Amazingly, even considering my below-par attacking midfielders, I'm sitting 6th in the Prem after 10 games on 18 points. My games are all or nothing, though. 6 wins, 4 defeats.

Me & Stoke have the joint-worst defence in the league (conceded 20) thanks in part to me getting totally raped away at both Spurs (4-1) and Yanited (6-0). That said, I've got the joint-2nd best "goals-for" stats, having scored 21 (along with Man C & Spurs). Yanited have 23. Entertainment guaranteed. :cool: :sge:

Of my signings, Papiss Cissé has to be by far and away my favourite. 8 goals in 9 league games with below-par service. If I can bag a decent couple of wingers / my current ones develop rapidly, he'll score a ludicrous amount. Gally is still doing the business as well suprisingly, with 3 goals and 3 assists in 9 league games (7.47 average). Gutted the Enoh broke his ankle in my 4th league game, was playing very well for me and averaging 7.33

Far from impressed with Radoi, Beckford and Owen, all three have been utter turdjuice and have been dropped to the ressies to find some form.

Need a GK, LB and a couple of AMs in January / the summer, and my team will be good to go. Having 15 shots per game on average (clearly not at WHL or OT, though) so it's pretty pleasing thus far. Next up: 16th placed Wigan. Really hope I win that a) because the league's really congested in mid-table, but more because b) the four games following that are: Chelsea (A), Arsenal (H), Liverpool (A), Man City (H). Formidable.

Fleck rejected my loan bid - although I had signed a few more attacking Mids - worth giving a go although I wouldn't bank on it.
