ooh_tommy_wright Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Still can't get the fooker to work. Been trawling the forums, and it seems I'm not alone. I truly resent having to download Steam, but I resent the fact Steam won't work even more. Pirate copy, methinks. I've paid the 30 quid for the game, so I think it's only fair
stripeyfox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Never had any problems with steam. can understand peoples frustration with not being able to share a copy but 30 (or less if you wait a few weeks) is not that much for the amount of time you can spend on the game. me, i'll not be buying it as i simply don't have enough time to invest. I'll make do with the ipad version. remember ricey is not on this forum in an official capacity or to be a spokesman for the company, and must get irked by some of the shit thrown his way. however, mr ricey if you know when the new ipad version is out i'm all ears thank you please
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 I'm sure you're earning a nice wedge Ricey, well done to you, but not everyone has money to burn, try to remember that before being so flippant. I hope this is sarcasm. Why should a programme developer sell a game that is playable by two people on different machines at the same time, that's two licenses. Buy two copies. It isn't an overly expensive game after all. Or take it in turns.
dave_the_fox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Brothers dont moan if they both wanna play cod do they!? Both have 2 player options and both you need to buy two copies for? No difference with fm!
Salieri Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 I was in a bad mood last night, i'm over it now. Peace.
Fox92 Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Beckford and Nugent are both very, very poor for me. Vassell is currently top goalscorer, he scored a great goal against Ipswich - took it from the half way line and beat about 4 players before scoring.

Beckford has been great for me so far, 8 in his first 9 appearances.
coale39 Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Nah. Not working offline as I'd just downloaded Steam. Was in two minds as to whether to buy the game because of all this forced crap that I don't want on my PC, but love FM. Looks like that's £30 down the shitter, and I shan't be bothering with it again. Shame. Just contact steam if its not working. Steams always worked flawlessly for me.
Finnegan Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Beckford 7 in 8, Nugent 8 in 8. Done Forest 6 - 2 at home, Hull 6 - 0 at home, Cardiff 5 - 1 away, Leeds 3 - 2 at home and West Ham 3 - 0 away. Signed Marco Verratti for 2m who's been fantastic so far, picked up Agustin Torassa for 500k to back up my strikers, Leandro Gioda for 100k who was brilliant until he got a knock for six weeks, Ryo Miyaichi on loan from Arsenal who I hope will fall in love with us and Dario Bottinelli for 3m who I probably overspent on but I didn't really have anyone else to buy; he's been okay. Line up as: Beckford - Nugent Bottinelli - Verratti - Miyaichi Abe Konchesky - Mills - Gioda/Bamba - Pantsil Kasper.
Ozwin Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Gioda has been immense for me on every save since like 2008 haha. He's one of those players I naturally just sign every year.
Finnegan Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 He's great value for money, yeah. Pinch better than Bamba and SSL in my opinion, but dirt cheap. Check out Torassa as well. 500k and he's more or less Nugent's level. Better all round player than Beckford but with only 15 pace / acceleration.
halfpipe Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 I've not bought the actual game yet, but been playing the demo (Quite limited tbh, as on FM 11 I would have crap loads of leagues available to sign players from, and the demo is really quite limited on that front ). Been playing a 1-3-2-1-3 (Sweeper - 3 CB's - 2 CM's - 1 CAM - 3 ST's) just as a bit of an experiment. Only issue I've had is Sweepers are hard to find and sign (limited players due to demo version), so SSL has been my sweeper this season, and is training into that position. Only signed Stephan Loboue (Keeper) on a free, and 2 guys on loan (Romeu from Chelski and Propper from Vitesse - both seem pretty decent). Current Squad (that would be played if there were no injuries): Beckford has bagged 16 league goals in as many games. Vassell with 6 from 17, and Nugent only bagging 4 out of his 14 starts. I only ever have to make subs for the midfield players. None of the defence or attacking line up really tire at all during games, and can usually play 90 mins every single game. Will upload a tactics file at some point for my formation and tactics as it seems to be doing wonders for me at the moment. Also all training schedules are very intense, as well as match preparation being on a very high workload! Loving FM 12 so far, and can't wait to get the full version :')

Schlupp Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Been having a good crack at it today,Didn't start with Leicester started with Juve,I'll probs do a Leicester anther time.
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Transfer window closes - Nugent injured 2 months...grrrreat! Loan market it is then....
NGoloMode Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Transfer window closes - Nugent injured 2 months...grrrreat! Loan market it is then.... I had to bring in Shola Ameobi on loan on the demo because Nugent got injured <_<
Stand UP... Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 I downloaded this off Pirate Bay last night.......but decided to buy it today
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 I had to bring in Shola Ameobi on loan on the demo because Nugent got injured <_< Exactly the same player I've just got
lcfc_jme Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Absolutely bossing the Championship (as I would expect) playing 4-1-3-2. Lloyd Dyer would almost certainly fail a drugs test on FM 'cos he's an animal. Using that Peruvian kid in the U18s a fair bit as well seeing as my coaches seem to love him. Took a gamble on signing Villa (Emanuel, not David, clearly) for £4m, especially with not being able to scout him before hand, 'cos I was livid with not being able to sign anyone. 13 goals, 7 assists, 4 man of the match awards and an average rating of 7.53 later, it doesn't seem that much of a gamble. Gutted that my homie Romelu turned down the chance to join me on loan, genuinely felt like crying. Some eye-catching results so far: beating Rotherham 8-1 away in the League Cup (J Beck bagged 6 and was subsequently dog in the league for 8 or 9 games), hammering Millwall 5-1 away & 5-0 at home, smashing Middlesborough 5-0 away, winning 5-4 away at Watford & 4-3 away at Cardiff. 4 defeats in the league so far (25 played) which is suprising given how close my games usually are in terms of the match stats. Alas, I lost 2-1 v the Trees & 2-0 v Southampton (both away) and 1-0 v Watford & 6-2 v West Ham (both home). Don't know whether it's a bug a la previous versions, but I'm giving away a painful amount of penalties, having an obscene amount of disallowed goals and hitting the woodwork 3 or 4 times every game. Into January now, got Arsenal as a Parent club and they're sending me Mannone and (hopefully) Riyachi on loan. Hoping to sign a couple of defenders and have already secured Clement Grenier on a free for next season.
Tom17LCFC Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Gonna download this now. Just wondering though, if I get it off steam with the internet connected, will I be able to play it without an internet connection? Reason being i'm at home atm, so the internet is fine, but I'm back at uni on monday where the internet is more than woeful.
Tom17LCFC Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Yes you can play steam games offline Cheers pal!
ooh_tommy_wright Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Just contact steam if its not working. Steams always worked flawlessly for me. Contacted Steam via email 24 hours ago, still awaiting a response.
AjcW Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Hmmmm.... Inconsistency is scary in my first save as Blackburn... went on an amazing run after losing my first game 6-1 to Arsenal... didn't lose again for another 12 including wins against chelsea, man city, liverpool and tottenham... But then it all came crashing down rather more abruptly than it would if it was something to do with my tactics, or an injury crisis... The same group of lads started losing every week, 3-0, 4-0, 5-0, 7-4(man utd ).... I now haven't won in 7 and have conceded 24 in the process .
Dan Posted 23 October 2011 Posted 23 October 2011 Shouts aren't new, they were in FM11 too As for the attributes instead of profile, I noticed you could change that in one of the settings pages Aren't they? Shows what I know. I'll have a look around, call me a saddo but I'll genuinely enjoy it more if I can go straight onto that page. It was a pain for me added to the fact for me it's so fvcking slow, am I the only one who has it this slow? Beckford and Nugent are both very, very poor for me. Vassell is currently top goalscorer, he scored a great goal against Ipswich - took it from the half way line and beat about 4 players before scoring. Only played 4 pre-season games but Vassell's looked superb, Nugent not bad at all, Beckford extremely indifferent. After reading about Lloyd Dyer on here I've decided there's no way I'm signing a left winger, he's been very good for me but I thought it was luck as he's literally got pace and nothing else, but I guess he's just a natural on FM When I finally get going properly I'll be using the same formation/style I did which brought me success at Peterborough. Counter attacking; KasperPeltier/Pantsil - Mills - Bamba - LumbA.O-Chamberlain - Gelson - King - DyerNugent - BeckfordSubs; Weale, SSL, Danns, Vassell, Schlupp Undecided on the right back. On the FM11 new update I had a very similar situation, stats wise Pantsil shat all over Peltier yet performance wise he didn't even come close, so it'll probably be Peltier. Mills, Bamba and SSL are stupidly good, SSL was a beast on that game. Unimpressed with Konchesky on it, Michael Lumb looks twice the player at £675k. Alex Chamberlain I signed on loan, absolutely amazed that I not only got him, but got him completely unchallenged, not a single other club were even interested. Having a defensive midfielder and a good box to box midfielder worked a treat with counter at Peterborough, so I reckon my best options for that were Gelson/King. Dyer as I've already said, just looks ridiculously good. Nugent/Beckford should deliver. Both have pace, both have ability. Can see Beckford hitting me 25 yet often playing shit. Nugent I hope to have good all-round game from and ability to drive at the defence, just like my old Pboro players did. I want to recreate that side, fvcking perfection. Played with a certain style from L1 to Europe and it worked a treat, cracking. Here's a point. Nugent's work rate has gone from 13 on FM11 to TEN on this, how the fvcking hell did they work that one out? It should be 15 at absolute least for me. Will update you all. I'll probably cock it up though.
