The Doctor Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Do you HAVE to have Steam to install the game? Yes - no way round it like previous years.
Ozwin Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Started as Morecambe cos I liked their logo. Let's do this thang. Yes boys;
AjcW Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Who decided to make Arsenal so good!?!?! I just played against them and they looked like Barca!! Lost 5-1
Ashley Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Has Ricey confirmed one disk is only available for one user? Not like previous years where one person could play FM via disk and the other via STEAM?
Fox92 Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Got the game this morning in town; £27. Not too bad, they refused to take my football manager 2011 back though. Started a game as Leicester, as always. Only played one game so fair because I've been doing the training and all tactics etc - it took me ages to find the player tactics - I know they want to make changes to the game but initially it's always confusing. Sorted though, and I played a 4-4-2 for my game. Kasper Peltier -- Mills - Tunchev -- Konchesky Vassell -- Wellens -- Danns -- Dyer Beckford -- Nugent I noticed Schlupp, Dyer and Danns were fantastic on it in particular. I did try a 4-2-3-1 which I don't play now, so I bidded for Lallana, McGugan and George Boyd. Good game though, as ever. The best!!
Ricey Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Has Ricey confirmed one disk is only available for one user? Not like previous years where one person could play FM via disk and the other via STEAM? No idea to be honest. Buy 2 copies
shen Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 No idea to be honest. Buy 2 copies No offense, Ricey, but you don't expect such an obvious comment to go down well here. Especially when presented in what will undoubtedly be interpreted a smug fashion.
Finnegan Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 He probably genuinely doesnt know. And whilst I'm no anti-piracy warrior, it is a bit cheeky expecting to be able to play the game twice at once on one purchase. You cant with other games, can you?
Liamlcfc1 Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Anyone know how to change the discipline so i dont get 4 or 5 players booked every game
James18 Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Started as Morecambe cos I liked their logo. Let's do this thang. Yes boys; Did the exact same last year. Didn't know who to manage in League 2 so had to go off that Had an amazing save with them though. Lower League management is awesome. Game has changed a lot this year. Loving it. Small things like the 'Tone' feature are pretty awesome.

And whilst I'm no anti-piracy warrior, it is a bit cheeky expecting to be able to play the game twice at once on one purchase. You cant with other games, can you? He probably doesn't, but he'd be able to find out due to his position. But these guys are saying they don't want to pay for two when they've previously been able to share one. Within the same household, I think that's pretty fair. Either way, it's a bit smug saying to buy two when that's the whole point of objection.
Ozwin Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 No idea to be honest. Buy 2 copies Sports Interactive.
ooh_tommy_wright Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Tried to install it (DVD), it installs Steam fine, but then says it's updating Steam and nothing happens until it says Steam needs to be online for the update to occur. I am online at this point, so don't know what else to do. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated because at present I want to hunt down the mother****er who decided to force this Steam shite upon me and take a hammer to their testicles. Muchos Gracias
Salieri Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 No idea to be honest. Buy 2 copies I'm sure you're earning a nice wedge Ricey, well done to you, but not everyone has money to burn, try to remember that before being so flippant.

What the **** is everyone expecting!! He's given the only response he possibly can as someone who is employed by the company! If I turn round to a customer tomorrow and say it's okay mate you can buy this down the road cheaper I'd get sacked!
ooh_tommy_wright Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Are you working offline or something? Nah. Not working offline as I'd just downloaded Steam. Was in two minds as to whether to buy the game because of all this forced crap that I don't want on my PC, but love FM. Looks like that's £30 down the shitter, and I shan't be bothering with it again. Shame.
Salieri Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 What the **** is everyone expecting!! He's given the only response he possibly can as someone who is employed by the company! If I turn round to a customer tomorrow and say it's okay mate you can buy this down the road cheaper I'd get sacked! Think you're missing the point? The fact he says he doesn't know is fine, and i've got no issue or interest in the specifics of how many people can play the game off of one purchase etc. It was purely the 'buy two copies' that riled me. £30 is a lot of money to some people and £60 is a hell of a lot more. It's a fantastic game with a huge fanbase, but it is the fans of the game (who spend their money on it) who are the most important factor, so don't be disrespectful. And I really don't know what you're on about with your second 'point' (in bold).

And I was just comparing it to if I did something similar at work tomorrow.
Ricey Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Lighten up everyone! I genuinely don't know the answer and if I did ask someone else at work I'd have got the same reply I gave earlier. I don't have to come on here and give help & support to people. Also, I don't know everything. I can tell you the exact RGB value of the waterlogged pitch texture but I can't tell you the inner workIngs of Steam. If Steam won't let you share a copy, then you'll have to buy another copy if you want to play it. Not saying I mind people sharing a copy, but I will say that I won't lose any sleep over someone having to pay for something they are going to use. Oh and what I earn has nothing to do with it but believe me I know the value of £30!
Dan Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Few things from this. Firstly, the positives; - Loving "tone". Very impressed with the in-depthness of team talks and preparation, happy with that. Happy with how you can give them talks before, half-time, after and bringing on, all in better detail. - The matchday engine is improved, even the 2D which I use seems to have improved and the goals aren't so repetitive. - I quite like some of the new organising, but dislike other parts (will get onto that). - Loving features like "shouts" which allow you to change your tactics big time with one click. Negatives; - The early one for me - speed. Now this laptop has never ran FM quickly, it's appalling, I rarely run both FM and my internet browser, as they run slowly, well they speed up but if you go on FM for 10 minutes for example, clicking on the Browser is ridiculously laggy. Anyway, this time - it's just ridiculous. It's that shitty speed, yet 5 times slower, literally. I left my FM shutting down earlier as I went out. Got back in to find my laptop had gone onto power saver, and it STILL hadn't shut down. Literally an hour to close it, that's just madness. I've uninstalled my FM11 since and a couple of other things, and bear in mind next time I go on it won't be starting a new game, but I doubt that'll make a HUGE difference. There's either a fault with the game speed or just my laptop. - Leicester, predicted to come below Leeds. Pya fvcking lol. - I don't like a couple of the new layout features and I wondered if they're changeable. Basically clubs for starters, I don't like the fact when you click on them it now takes you to an info screen rather than their first team, much like it did on 11 with international sides for example, I wish that was avoidable. A similar one I dislike and want changed if possible is when I click on a player, I want it straight on the "attributes" page and not "profile", because I want to see this hexagonal grid of attributes. I've always preferred that one, I normally look at that and then check the numbers for details. It's easy to enough to find it's just annoying that you have to click another button, I wish this was avoidable, I wonder if you can actually change your layout of some pages.
Far Post Gerry Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Spent hours installing the game, now I try to play it and it says "Game is unavailable - pls try again later". WTF??
shen Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 The fact he says he doesn't know is fine, and i've got no issue or interest in the specifics of how many people can play the game off of one purchase etc. It was purely the 'buy two copies' that riled me. £30 is a lot of money to some people and £60 is a hell of a lot more. This. Don't get me wrong, but some were clearly upset about it, and it felt quite smug to say 'buy two copies ', when it could have been put across a lot more sensibly, i.e. 'Sorry, but I think your best bet is to buy two copies'. It's nothing personal, just slightly more tactful wording would've avoided it. Lighten up everyone! I genuinely don't know the answer and if I did ask someone else at work I'd have got the same reply I gave earlier. I don't have to come on here and give help & support to people. But obviously as a Sigames employee and a long-time FT member, you know you can expect questions on the game. No-one expects you to be the oracls Glad you're still here posting though - Loving features like "shouts" which allow you to change your tactics big time with one click. - A similar one I dislike and want changed if possible is when I click on a player, I want it straight on the "attributes" page and not "profile", because I want to see this hexagonal grid of attributes. Shouts aren't new, they were in FM11 too As for the attributes instead of profile, I noticed you could change that in one of the settings pages
ozleicester Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 I have never played or even seen this game... that is all.
