Leicester Pompey Post Match Thread

Welles tried to give some service to the forwards, just lacked execution. He wasn't the worst out there but isn't good enough for a side with aspirations such as ourselves

I hope today's results has opened the last Pearson lovers', Top suckers' and Sven haters' eyes.

It's like after a rough night out - you wake up in someone else's bed and realize the hot girl you thought you've slept with is your best friend's distinctly average-looking mom.

Exactly. Couldn't believe Wellens and Nuge came off instead of Schlupp and King.

I thought the same, can only assume that Nige wanted to see Schlupp and Beckford together before the window opens.

Can't have been a fan very long then.

I love it. By all accounts we should be doing a lot better with what we've spent, and it's certainly not going that great at the moment, but when people start saying they've never been more embarrassed etc. is, ironically, incredibly embarrassing. I mean, the relegation season? Pre-Tony James?

I'm completely fed up with the lot of them today.. But most particularly with Mills and his long balls and Kasper with his fookin kickin which seems to be aimless...

Main problem for me.. We give the ball away over and over and over again. We must learn not to needlessly try 70 passes which are not just coming off, instead get a good midfield and pass it around a bit.

The standard of football was utterly shocking today.

Another shit result; keep dropping points at home and the way its going its gonna be too late when we start performing. Think Abe played very well but the midfield was poor again; need to bring in some decent midfielders who aren't afraid to get stuck in and want to play and have something to prove.

Beckford looked sharper when he came on, and couldve made a better impact given more time. Had a clear penalty not given; not the first time refs have cost us probable points- getting beyond a joke now.

Terrible stuff, we'll exempt Abe, Nugent, perhaps Gallagher, and Bamba in the second half. Mills the worst, looked totally uninterested in playing. Also time to replace Wellens as the midfield general, looked past it, unfortunately Danns hardly looks much of a replacement.

Pearson is still in the bed Sven made, give him 'til Feb to sign the players he wants to play in the way he wants and get rid of the crap, it's not good at the moment being a Leicester fan but it is getting a bit boring all the drama queens on here. The general consensus was Schlupp should be given a chance, Beckford and Dyer are not performing and need to be dropped, 442 is not working, so what happens today? Wellens brought off for Danns and still not good enough.

You can't polish a turd, and that is what we were left with by Sven.

And what exactly was it that NP was supposed to bring to Leicester?

Fame, fortune, the "spirit", a "team"----------?

At least we got one thing stability......... we are constantly piss poor and play the least entertaining football I have seen in years.

Yours speecless

Don't be a clown. Anyone with half a brain will realise the things you mention are cultivated over time. It seems obvious the squad sven created has no semblance of spirit or identity. Pearson has a track record for providing this if we allow it.

Sort the squad in January, spend the second half of the season creating the 'team' ready for a proper tilt next year.

Actually yes. Back then we had a limited budget, a team full of youth team graduates and limited players who at least put in a decent effort, and we had characters in the team who we could identify with and who cared - Mauchlen, Ramsey, Mills etc. We also made more noise with 8,500 than we do with 25,000 today. In the relegation season, it had been coming for a number of years, and similar has happened to Southampton, Norwich etc.

Today, with more money invested than we ever would have thought possible even 18 months ago, to see such insipid football week after week after week, with no passion, everybody underperforming and the library that the atmosphere at home every time we play there, is, for me more embarrasing. That's my opinion, you're entitled to have a different view. Personally i've never felt more disillusioned after 30 years.

I can also understand this sentiment. We've been given an amazing opportunity to create something great with our financial power. To see a team so mediocre and lacking anything a good team needs is massively frustrating.

I think we have the right man to get the fans back onside, with a team worth supporting. January is critical.

Gotta love it when someone calls in, says they're going to be as brief as possible, then blathers on endlessly. >_<

To an extent maybe - but what about the players that were signed by Pearson during his first tenure or the ones he built his team around two, three years ago? Turds that have been lying around longer than just one or one-and-a-half seasons?

With a few exceptions (Nugent, Schmeichel and probably Konchesky have done more than well over the course of the past 24 games), they're all at fault for not playing well enough and I wonder how much that has to do with being ill-coached or being totally unprofessional on an individual basis.

Also, can someone please edit the title of this thread? It's just... embarrassing.

What is wrong with it?

I think it was too succinct for Thracian. :P
