Happy Fox Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 http://www.mirrorfoo...icle857153.html Aston Villa are ready to let Emile Heskey walk away for nothing this summer. The former England striker, 34, is one of the top earners after being brought in by Martin O’Neill. His contract is up in July and both Villa and Heskey have already provisionally agreed to part company. There are no fresh talks planned with a view to keeping the veteran, who cost £3.5million from Wigan two years ago. Heskey has only scored 10 goals and he has struggled with form and fitness despite quitting international duty. Villa owner Randy Lerner is keen to cut the average Villa first-team salary from £57,000-a-week to £46,000-a-week, as revealed by Mirrorsport. Heskey is sure to interest his old club Leicester.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 no future in it, pointless, and I love the guy.
lcfcsnow Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Definite no, he's had his chance to come back and he's as much use as Howard is now.
Jace Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 If Sven was still here think it would be very possible but not under Pearson wouldn't be his type of player. Wouldn't be surprised if MON makes a cheeky offer to take him Sunderland
ousefox Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 I'd have loved him back at the start of this season, but don't know how mobile he will be come next August. Although he still wasn't slow last season so..
Happy Fox Posted 24 January 2012 Author Posted 24 January 2012 Tbh this will be probably be his last move in his career, and obviously he would probably want to come here back to his boyhood club, sentiments aside he could do a player coaching role here.
gazfox9 Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Nay,nay, nay, nay,NAY! Not what we need. Young, hungry players seem to be the future, And for the money he'd command, we could do far better I'm afraid.
Jaspa Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Big improvement on Howard, and I would love to see him back. Soon as poss please
Yojoe36 Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 If Sven was still here think it would be very possible but not under Pearson wouldn't be his type of player. Wouldn't be surprised if MON makes a cheeky offer to take him Sunderland Yet Howard is still plays as a regular sub
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 He would be stupid to ruin his reputation / decent goal scoring record.
bmt Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Deffo would take him if he took a (edit: HUGE) wage cut. Would love to see him back in the shirt (even though he is completely past it). Would be like Henry returning to Arsenal........
FantasticMrFuchs Posted 24 January 2012 Posted 24 January 2012 Turned us down at the start of this season when Sven wanted him but turned us down, So doubt he could make a impact anymore. He will go MLS like the rest of the has beens.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 25 January 2012 Posted 25 January 2012 Nope. Had his chance last summer when we really needed a target man. Howard's been past it for the last three years and Heskey would have been just what we needed, but when we needed him he turned us down. And for what? Another season of sporadic Premiership appearances. I want a Heskey that's coming back because he loves Leicester and because he has something to offer. A final swan song when he decides he's no longer up to Premiership football benefits only one party and it wouldn't be Leicester City. Sorry Bruno, you had your chance...
cc_star Posted 25 January 2012 Posted 25 January 2012 Love him, but no. We've got Nugent, Beckford & Schlupp, will get someone similar to Nugent to push him for his place.
Lcfclee Posted 25 January 2012 Posted 25 January 2012 Ever since he left Wigan this thread always comes up . No I don't want him back . No he wont come back .

Could not have put it better myself. If he was going to come back he should have come back when he could make a genuine impact for us. One season too far in my opinion. Not exactly been pulling up too many trees this season and is not going to get any batter.
RonnieTodger Posted 25 January 2012 Posted 25 January 2012 YES. Even if we get a penalty against Accrington in the Carling Cup, bring him and let him score. Put him in goal. GET HIM BACK
