Swindon Player Ratings

Kasper 7 - Did everything well except for a couple of wayward kicks

Pelts 7.5 - Good game against a tricky winger

Mills 8 - Solid as a rock and a good assist

St Ledger 9 - Exactly what we've been missing at the back. Now Mills has another option that he can rely on

Konchesky 6 - Not his best game and should have gone for that tackle

Gallagher 6 - Pretty on the ball but not much else. Need someone with a bit more strength on the right

Wellens 6 - Not his best came compared to the last couple of games and was overhauled by an energetic midfield

Danns 7 - Good game. Needs to get involved when the ball is on the deck a bit more as he looks dangerous when involved

Dyer 6 - Pace but thats it. Cant cross which for a winger is pretty essential

Beckford 8 - 2 goals and a tidy performance. Starting to see the better side of his game

Nugent 6 - Should have scored with the header and didnt really contribute too much

Pearson 7.5 - Got the job done. All thats required in this stage of a cup competition

Swindon 10 - Huge credit. Looked very good on the ball but just had nobody up top that looked like scoring

We didn't play amazing today. However another clean sheet and 2 Beckford goals is just pure awesomeness. Bring on the boro

Kasper - Can't give him a rating, but he once again pulled off some great saves

Pelts 6

Mills 6

St Ledger 7

Konchesky 7

Gallagher 3 - Yeeeah. Not good

Wellens 6

Danns 7

Dyer 6

Beckford 8 - Good for him. Like to see some goals in league games though

Nugent 7

Thought Kasper slapped at a couple of crosses so maybe a 6 ( mainly because he has set himself such high standards )

Danns was really busy for me and that crunching tackle alone deserves an 8 in my book

Agree SSL was top drawer and never missed a header or tackle

Konch's tackle was bad and looks terrible in slow motion - should have been a red - brilliant tackle inside the 6 yard box saved a certain goal

Every week we moan about the ref but he did us a favour today

Can't see Swindon being in that league for long - probably deserved something out the game and would like to see the shots / shots on target numbers as they were probably better than hours ?

Schmeichel 8 - Even though his kicking wasn't up to scratch, he made two outstanding saves

Peltier 7 - Solid performance today, consistent

Mills 8 - Did what had to be done, positive performance

St Ledger 10 - The best defensive display I have ever seen by a Leicester player

Konchesky 7 - Poor in parts, but consistent game all round

Gallagher 5 - Very poor, played like a fairy and gave the ball away too much

Wellens 4 - Very very poor, worst player on the pitch sell him!

Danns 7 - Excellent in the first half, but looked a bit off in the second

Dyer 6 - Some dangerous runs, but second half he was very quiet

Nugent 6 - Tries but not his best game by any means

Beckford 9 - Looked absolute quality, looked dangerous and took his goals well

Posted

Schmeichel - 8 saved us with some outstanding saves first half when we were under pressure

Peltier - 6 doesn't offer much going forward, slow in posession

Mills - 7.5 another assist but still too many hoofs up to no one

St. Ledger - 8 very impressive

Konchesky - 3 dreadful performance especially in the first half when i don't think he did anything right

Gallagher - 3 just horrendous

Wellens - 5 simply not good enough, sloppy in posession

Danns - 6 does some great things but then misplaces simple passes in dangerous areas, great work rate though.

Dyer - 5 no end product as per usual

Nugent - 5 anonymous

Beckford - 7 has learnt how to control the ball in recent weeks, very impressed with his workrate too which is leading to goals, hopefully he can bang in some in the league soon

Posted

Kasper 9 - Great Saves in the first half

Pelts 7 - Look confident going forward

Mills 8 - Solid

St Ledger 9 - MOTM for me

Konchesky 5 - Should have gone for that tackle could have been a different game in the second half

Gallagher 7 - Not a bad game, couple of gem crosses

Wellens 6 - Just not enough quality

Danns 8 - I like Danns, breaks up the play works really hard- also look a threat at times going forward

Dyer 6 - Quick and broke into space, not great final product

Beckford 9 - 2 goals couldn't ask for more, 15 in15 should give him confidence and fans on side now

Nugent 6 - Should have scored, just missed out on a Gallagher cross in the first and the header in the second - just didn't happen for him today

Hopper (not on longer enough for a score) - looks quick though could be an interesting

Posted

Said in numerous other topics that Hopper is going to be a top drawer target man - not quite ready yet but I'd pick him in front of Howard if they are only going to be on for 15 mins

Posted

Kasper 7 - Good when called upon, but I still don't like his kicking too much

Pelts 7 - Ok but needed more protection from a better right winger

Mills 8 - Solid

St Ledger 9 - Yet again another superb game. Best defender we have.

Konchesky 7 - Ok.

Gallagher 4 - Simply not good enough. Too lightweight, gets in everyone's way and comes inside too much leaving Peltier/RB positon open.

Wellens 7 - Decent. Not great but not brilliant. Great ball's for the goals though.

Danns 8 - Very energetic, and better in the middle like we have seen in the past few games.

Dyer 6 - Fades away out of every game after about 30 minutes. Did cover the left back well though, and sit in at times.

Beckford 8 - Good performance. Worked harder, and the goals were taken well.

Nugent 7 - Not his best performance, but not bad either. The Swindon goalkeeper made a great save from his header.

I don't know what Pearson has been feeding St Ledger, but he's been like a new £5m signing in the transfer window.

Bamba has to be patient when he gets back.

Thought Danns was very pesky today, something we have missed in the first half of the season.

Hopper looked interesting. Good movement and speed.

Posted

Kasper-7 some decent saves when everybody else fell asleep first half

Peltier-5 what does he do going forward?? maybe i'm unfair on him because of Naughton last year

Mills-7

StLedger-7 Both Mills and Ledge solid

Konchesky-5 not his best game

Gallagher-5 put your foot in

Wellens-5 move the ball quickly, you don't always have to play the way you're facing

Danns-7 Really like Danns in midfield, seems to have some control

Dyer-6 always goes quiet after first 15

Nugent-6 Does a lot of work

Beckford-7 Two decent finishes, looks more like the player we know.

Hopper looked promising when he came on, Kennedy looked decent too.

Kasper - 7 Made a few decent saves to keep us ahead.

Pelts - 7 Another solid game.

Konch - 6 Lucky to stay on the pitch, did enough.

Mills - 8 Another assist and a great defensive performance.

SSL - 9 Continues to show that he's a great defender. Solid once more.

Gallagher 4 - bottles anything whenever anyone comes within 5 yards of him. Poor generally, although some decent balls were whipped in.

Dyer 6 - Always a great outlet but what comes after isn't good enough most of the time.

Danns 7 - flourishing by being played in his natural position. A few crunching tackles, never gives up.

Wellens 6 - thought he had a half decent game. Certainly wasn't crap.

Nuge 6 - wasn't really in the game, worked hard and probably should've scored.

Becks 8 - two goals, looking better with each start. Confidence is growing.

Howard 6

Kennedy 6

Hopper 6

Not much to add from what others have said apart from Gallagher was absolutely dreadful, and I think it was because he was not fit and shouldn't have been playing.

Schmeichel- 8 (Again came to the rescue several times)

Peltier- 7 (Decent)

Mills- 8 (Solid)

St Ledger- 9 (Faultless, did he misplace a pass at all?)

Konchesky- 7 (Rash tackle in the first half, second was improved)

Gallagher- 4 (Just not good enough consistently)

Wellens- 6 (OK in parts)

Danns- 6 (Same as Wellens, fortunate to escape a booking)

Dyer- 7 (Busy)

Beckford- 9 (Class, two goals and his link play was much, much better)

Nugent- 6 (Tried hard but generally ineffective)

Officials- 0 (Between them. The referee was so petty and inconsistent with his pettiness, the linesmen missed balls out of play and corners not being taken within the quadrant despite standing two yards away)

Posted

Schemichel - Made 3 or 4 great saves 8/10

Peltier - Still unsure about him defensively, very shaky in the first half. 5

Mills - Shaky in the first half, very good in the second. 6

St Ledger - Best player on the pitch by a decent distance 9

Konchesky - Had a nightmare first 10 or 15 minutes after that settled down. Absolutely should have been sent-off though. 6

Gallagher - A bit out of sorts. 4

Wellens - Decent enough game. 6

Danns - Harried well. 7

Dyer - Beat his man well, but needs to perform better with his final ball. 6

Beckford - 2 goals, can't complain. 8

Nugent - Couldn't really get into the game. 5

Overall - Looked shaky at the back first half, but other than that decent performance.

Really impressed with hopper performance, he see's and makes runs well, came on and looked fearless! a massive future ahead of the lad! can see why he scores plenty of goals!

Posted

Kasper 7 - Some good saves and decent distribution

Pelts 7 - Solid game, good outlet down the right

Mills 7 - Another assist and solid display

St Ledger 8 - MOTM, reads the game so well and won everything in the air

Konchesky 6 - Not his usual self, lucky he didn't connect with that tackle...

Gallagher 3 - Fairy tackles and not even his crossing was good today. Poor.

Wellens 5 - Caught in possession a fair few times

Danns 6 - Good energy, but didn't do much of note

Dyer 6 - Some nice runs in first half but then faded badly

Beckford 8 - Took his two goals well, looks hungrier

Nugent 6 - Had a free header but spurred the opportunity, still linked up well with Becks

Kennedy - 6 Came on without too much to do

Hopper - 6 Looks like a decent prospect

Howard 5 - Won a few flick ons

Posted

Not that I'm making excuses for Gallagher but I don't think he was fit today. Surprised to see him playing and filled a problem position given the absentees.

Posted

Kasper - Apart from that header in the first half and the free kick he didn't have to do much

Pelts 7

Mills 7

St Ledger 8 MOTM

Konchesky 7

Gallagher 5 - I am not a lover of gallagher, hope we can bring in a winger to replace him

Wellens - 6 had a decent game

Danns 7 - Chased back all the time, hassled them, another good performance

Dyer 6

Beckford 8 - He just loves the FA Cup!

Nugent 7

Also from what I seen Hopper looked decent, would love to see some action from him

Kasper 7.25 (One important reaction save from a close range glancing header within another mostly competent performance. A couple of goalkicks were sprayed like a novice golfer but he always tried to be constructive with his distribution and was mostly successful).

Peltier 7 (Contributed busily to another clean sheet but still gave his man too much space at times).

Mills 8.5 (Formidable. Added an assist to a thorooughly dominant defensive performance and even some reasonably competent passing).

Ledger 8 (Read the game well and often offered himself as the spare man. Seemed in total control meaning that Swindon were mostly limited to shots from distance).

Konchesky 6 (Might easily have been sent off for seemingly trying to slice his opponent in half with a tackle. Quite why I don't know and although busy and committed he was always convincing today).

Gallagher 5 (Such a frustrating player. But never imposed himself on the match).

Wellens 6 (Sometimes awful and sometimes constructive. Still seemed a potential weakness at times).

Danns 7 (His abounding energy and commitment earned him a mark more than Wellens - one 30-yard run and tackle sticks in the mind. Might have scored with a low drive past the right post but his first touch too often lifts the ball off the ground for some reason and he was either indecisive or caught in possession on occasions. Still considerable room for improvement but he has given us more urgency.).

Dyer 6.75 (A real team performance. His pace posed Swindon problems early on but he also made good passing choices on the ball in midfield situations. Didn't get more chance to take people on once we started defending from deeper in trying not to give anything away).

Beckford 9 (Two goals is what strikers are paid to do - and these came from a limited number of chances all round. It was also refreshing to see him spot team-mates runs and use them).

Nugent 6.5 (One header should have been despatched and he was so close to making contact with another chance on the near post. Not his best game but still a mthreat).

Nice to see Hopper get a game and do alright and to see Pearson maintain our momentum without undue drama.
