HEGGSY Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 I wanted IC to win for Bamba but Zambia have been immense tonight. Singing and Praying and Pure Elation. That's what footballs about.
marko Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Poor old Sol Don't worry. He'll be smiling at Wembley in May when we win the playoffs.
act smiley Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Shame for Bamba & Gradel, but can't say it really bothers me - I do like a good underdog win after all. On a related topic, the BBC's live text updates for this were a little bit flawed... 2226: IVORY COAST WIN THE 2012 AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS Ivory Coast 7-8 Zambia (Stoppila Sunzu fires home) Ivory Coast 7-7 Zambia (Gervinho blazes high and wide) 2224: And so we go on...

Happy Fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Some of Zambia's players look good wouldn't mind one or two of them here.
shen Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Astonishing... not conceding a goal in six matches and still not win the tournament...
Ozwin Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 The manager carrying his injured player. What a sight.
Tielemans63 Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Wow. What a story, so pleased for Zambia.
ScouseFox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Poor sol, poor gradel, boss for zambia. Not poor drogba. Fcuking drogba.
Corky Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Didn't think the Zambians were very sporting, singing through the penalties. Rugby crowds go silent when penalties are taken. We could learn a lot from that sport.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Bamba was lucky to get his again, Zambians probably deserved it being underdogs.
LCFC FOX Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 That has got to be the best penalty shoot out I've seen. Bamba scoring as well well played Zambia
I am Rod Hull Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 The manager carrying his injured player. What a sight. Epic ___________________ Sol losing is tempered with a Drogba fail.... what a puff...
Tielemans63 Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 Epic ___________________ Sol losing is tempered with a Drogba fail.... what a puff... That penalty was truly shocking. That'll haunt him for a while I'm sure.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 I think Bamba's was probably about as close to the bar as possible!
teblin Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 Feel sorry for Bamba. As a centre back you'd have thought if you didnt let a goal in, in the whole competition you'd be champions.
Brown Fox Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 Didn't think the Zambians were very sporting, singing through the penalties. Rugby crowds go silent when penalties are taken. We could learn a lot from that sport. The only thing we could learn from rugby is respect to the referee and video technology. All other aspects are boring as hell. Being silent through a penalty in football would be awful.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 Surely that mweene is worth taking on trial!? I would immagine he's a free transfer and must be better than weale!!
StanSP Posted 13 February 2012 Posted 13 February 2012 Didn't think the Zambians were very sporting, singing through the penalties. Rugby crowds go silent when penalties are taken. We could learn a lot from that sport. I didn't like the 'you can't see me' hand-waving in front of the face towards the Ivory Coast keeper and also Mweene towards Drogba after he missed the penalty during normal time. Just disrespectful, really.
