21st Century Fox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Roma look to have made some great signings as replacements for those that've moved to the PL. Pjanic and Ljajic's goals were superb. I still can't imagine De Rossi moving anywhere else, his passion whilst celebrating every goal seems so unique nowadays.

Dan Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Honestly don't think Ozil is worth nearly that. He's a good player but no better than Cazorla IMO.
21st Century Fox Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 And Totti is still there and still starting too It's insane now much he still works and how much influence he has in and around the box. Legend. Kevin Strootman looks to be a really good signing too, I'm surprised he wasn't snapped up by a PL club first.
StanSP Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 Hmmm, you reckon they'll change their tactics and formation? I'd be surprised to see anything other than how they roll at the moment. Arteta and Ramsay (unless Wilshire gets match fit which he's NEVER been) in behind Cazorla, Podolski and Walcott and the three behind Giroud. Where does Ozil come into that? You could move Cazorla out wide, sack off Podolski and put Ozil in the hole I reckon, but I like Podolski and think Cazorla would be slightly wasted on the wing. Will be interesting to see what happens though. Not drastically but players like Cazorla and Ozil would be too good to omit I think. Podolski's out for a while so perhaps Arsenal could try a new tactic out to accommodate Ozil. Cazorla would be wasted on the wing for sure.

I say only but come on, he's been around long enough to be about 45 by now. Just an absolute hero. I didn't watch Roma today cos I was working but glad to hear they're sounding good, Italian league could be a good'un this year.
StanSP Posted 1 September 2013 Posted 1 September 2013 It was Totti's 573rd Roma appearance today I heard. 6th all-time in Serie A. What a player. Scored some fantastic goals over the years. Think he said this would be his last season though
Bayfox Posted 3 September 2013 Posted 3 September 2013 Just been offered the chance to go see 2 games in holland in nov. One of which is ado (millwall of holland) v ajax. Anyone been to any dutch games? Worth a trip?

21st Century Fox Posted 5 September 2013 Posted 5 September 2013 Is Del Piero ahead of him? I don't think Del Piero cracked 500.
21st Century Fox Posted 5 September 2013 Posted 5 September 2013 Del Piero is on 478. Yeah that sounds right. I remember he was a few off and would've made 500 had he not spent the season in Serie B because of Calciopoli.
Dan Posted 5 September 2013 Posted 5 September 2013 Yeah that sounds right. I remember he was a few off and would've made 500 had he not spent the season in Serie B because of Calciopoli. Completely forgot about that. Bet it skews it for Buffon too. Maldini & Zanetti spring to mind.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 6 September 2013 Posted 6 September 2013 I wish Totti would just retire, he's an absolute nutter
ScouseFox Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Could swear Bale was meant to be making his debut today...
ScouseFox Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Hahahahaha that was always gonna happen as soon as I posted that
Jimothy Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Could swear Bale was meant to be making his debut today... I know he's scored, but wouldn't have started him. Half match fit, new team, new league, new country, it's an away match, he was bound to look a bit off form, and the whole world will be watching.

He touched the ball about 4 times in the whole first half. One was a tap into the net like. Fair enough.
Jimothy Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 He touched the ball about 4 times in the whole first half. One was a tap into the net like. Fair enough. But normally Bale is the kind of player who looks for the ball a lot, he's not the type of player who has very little of the ball but makes a big impact. It's obviously he's not up to match speed yet.

It's obviously he's not up to match speed yet. to be fair....ronaldo, isco, modric etc were no better, in fact given ronaldo's waste of chances and constant shooting bale probably had the better half.
David Guiza Posted 14 September 2013 Posted 14 September 2013 Real have been poor so far, too many attacking players with nothing covering (Alonso being a big miss). Ronaldo has been non existent also, but can almost guarantee he will do something out of nothing later in the game.
Jordan Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 I just took a look to see how Þróttur ReykjavÃk are getting on. Their young team has been at the nether reaches of the Icelandic 2nd division all season, but they have spared themselves the ignominy of relegation to Iceland's third tier with one game left to go. Here's hoping they kick on next year. This division is absurd. Going into the final day of the season, 5 of the 12 teams have a chance to win the title (top 2 go up). At the other end of the table, though, is the sad case of Völsungur, who have 2 points from 21 games and a goal difference of -63. They lost their last game 16-0!
Dan Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 I think it's hard to look outstanding in a team where the gameplan is built around Ronaldo shooting from anywhere. OK I'm exaggerating but they do it so much that it's laughable. If Ronaldo could be more of a team player they would be an incredible side going forward.
