Not really, he's better than Mandzukic (sp?) and he's Dortmund's key forward.

Prudent signing. Just sad that Klopp doesn't seem to be able to convince his very best to buy in to the project and stay.

Mind you, it doesn't help when he admits that he only sees himself there for three or four years.

I remember hearing up until a few months ago Lewandowski was only on about £20,000 a-week at Dortmund. He only just got bumped up to £75,000. You'd assume he'll be on considerably more at Bayern.

I was in Munich yesterday for the game against 1860 and one of the few things I can remember was that I thought his attitude was off.

It'll be a shame that he's off but Klopp has proven that he can replace their best players well (Reus after Kagawa, Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan after Götze) so I am intrigued to see what happens next summer.

Buyern don't need him at all, Mandzukic  has been very good this season and was in the last. it's simply a signing to weaken a title rival. I'm not saying Mandzukic is better than Lewandowski but he doesn't need to be replaced by him.

The German league needs to be very careful, they have built something fantastic over the last ten years but Bayern could kill it in the next ten.

Prudent, but does more long term damage to their league than anything.

Good for Bayern, shit for German football.

Real were losing going into injury time. Ronaldo scored the winner in the 94th minute. Heroic. 50 goals to Messi's 42 this year, clearly the best player in the world.

And Totti turning it on despite pushing about 60 years of age, bagging twice at the San Siro and Roma are doing the business so far this year.

Ronaldo is not a better player than Messi.

He isn't.

Ronaldo's goal was a very lucky huge deflection as well.

Real have looked dreadful so far this season, lucky not to be ten points behind.

Other than aerial ability (which is unsurprising given the height difference) and shooting from range, I don't think there's anything he's better at than Messi.

Well I'm glad you cleared that debate up.

lol alright then.

Hoffenheim demand replay after Leverkusen's 'ghost goal'

Hoffenheim are set to protest against a freak goal awarded to Bayer Leverkusen when Stefan Kiessling headed the ball through a hole in the side of the net.

Referee Felix Brych failed to spot that Kiessling's header flew wide of the post in the 70th minute of Leverkusen's 2-1 Bundesliga win on Friday.

Hoffenheim managing director Alexander Rosen said: "It's a scandal.

"That was no goal, there are no two ways about it. We are definitely going to protest."

Brych, a Fifa referee, said that no player had indicated it was not a goal.

"I had a slight doubt but the reaction from the players was clear - nobody was against [the decision]," Brych said.

"I checked with Kiessling. But no-one, not even him, said that it wasn't a goal. ( lolThe ball was in the net and for everyone on the pitch it was a legitimate goal."

In April 1994, Bayern Munich beat Nuremburg 2-1 after defender Thomas Helmer was awarded a goal despite the ball not going in.

Nuremburg lodged a complaint, and Germany's Football Association ordered a replay, which Bayern won 5-0 on their way to clinching the title.

Hoffenheim coach Markus Gisdol said: "It's definitely bitter for us and something like this has already happened once, and that game was replayed so I think we're going to see this game again.

"Anything else would be a joke. You can't replay a Bayern Munich game, but not a Hoffenheim game."

Kiessling said: "I didn't really see it, I turned away but I was surprised to see the ball in. I didn't know how it got in."

Several Hoffenheim substitutes raced behind the goal to examine the netting and appeared to try to point out Brych's error. But the referee was by then powerless to overrule his original decision.

Rudi Voller, Leverkusen's sporting director, said: "That's not how we wanted to win the game. The fair result would have been a 2-2."

Leverkusen were leading through Sidney Sam's 26th-minute opener when the controversy happened.

Germany international Kiessling headed a corner wide of the near post, and could be seen turning away in frustration before Brych awarded the goal.

The referee then awarded Hoffenheim a generous penalty when Roberto Firmino was fouled a foot outside the penalty area. But Firmino's spot-kick was saved.

Sven Schipplock pulled a goal back for Hoffenheim two minutes from the end, but they could not save a point and fell to their first home defeat of the season.

Brych, who refereed England's 3-2 friendly win over Scotland at Wembley in August, sent off Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic during a 2-0 Champions League defeat away to Romanian side Otelul Galati in October 2011.

The win took Sami Hyypia's side top, although Bayern Munich can overtake them by beating Mainz on Saturday.

Ghost goals

  • Clive Allen (Crystal Palace at Coventry, 6 Sept 1980): Allen smashed a free-kick that hit the back stanchion and bounced out - without the officials spotting it had gone in. Palace lost 3-1.
  • Freddie Sears (Crystal Palace at Bristol City, 15 Aug 2009): More misery for Palace after Sears' shot flew in and out of the goal after hitting the base of the goal. Referee Rob Shoebridge gave a goal kick, and Palace were beaten 1-0.
  • John Eustace (own goal, Reading at Watford, 20 Sept 2008): Linesman Nigel Bannister flagged for a goal instead of a corner when Watford midfielder Eustace put the ball behind. That gave Reading a 1-0 lead before Watford earned a 2-2 draw.
