21st Century Fox Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Ron Burgundy announces sequel to Anchorman
The Doctor Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Anchorman can go **** himself. Now that's a news reporter.
MC Prussian Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Hollywood's tendency of coming up with more and more sequels each year is grinding my gears. It's so bland.
Petchy Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Hollywood's tendency of coming up with more and more sequels each year is grinding my gears. It's so bland. To be fair, it has been 8 years since the original.
purpleronnie Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Anchorman can go **** himself. Now that's a news reporter. but not funny.
Captain... Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 Don't know how I feel about this one, Anchorman is one of my favourite comedies, but I fear a sequel would dilute it, Will Ferrell is generally not very funny, especially as the lead in a film, Anchorman was the exception. I guess it depends on why they are making a sequel, because of the love of the first one or to make money.
Guest Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 http://youtu.be/QC--H0xM5GE Why did you show that? Leicester losing 1-0 to Cardiff in the playoffs. You just ruined my day.
Carl the Llama Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 News reporters team assemble! And I think the OP meant "Anchorman 2 - Happened":
21st Century Fox Posted 29 March 2012 Author Posted 29 March 2012 And I think the OP meant "Anchorman 2 - Happened": That's not a sequel it's all the subplots they cut out of the original and made into a spin-off.
Carl the Llama Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 That's not a sequel it's all the subplots they cut out of the original and made into a spin-off. You read my link then. Facetious. I was being it.
21st Century Fox Posted 29 March 2012 Author Posted 29 March 2012 You read my link then. Facetious. I was being it. No I've seen it, it's really good considering it a load of loose ends.

This, I went to see Anchorman with free tickets and low expectations only to see one of the best comedies of this, admittedly young, century. Never seen Ferrell be particularly funny in anything else, or Steve Carrell for that matter. Potentially going to ruin the first film .. And this.

Raw Dykes Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 I never thought Anchorman was that great. My thoughts exactly. One of the most overrated films in history. Everyone tells me it's hilarious. It really isn't very funny at all.
purpleronnie Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 My thoughts exactly. One of the most overrated films in history. Everyone tells me it's hilarious. It really isn't very funny at all. Or maybe peoples sense of humour differ.
MC Prussian Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 No I've seen it, it's really good considering it a load of loose ends. This is where tastes differ. I don't think that clip is funny at all. In fact, it's very flat. Representative of the entire movie. Never been a fan of Ferrell or his humour, it seems very far-fetched and desperate to me. He also tries to copy previous, classic comedians too obviously. Now, Chevy Chase is an entirely different calilbre:
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 29 March 2012 Posted 29 March 2012 First wasn't that great in my opinion but a sequel will make them a truck load of money.
