oxford blue Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Four Four Two have an article on best & worst foreign signing. leicester's best is pontus kamaark and worst is Momo Sylla (it allows foreign players signed from British clubs - as he was signed from Celtic). For me, Theo Zagorakis would run Kamaark close, and Hossein Kaebi could be the worst, but I don't think his fee was ever disclosed. Hopefully, bamba could the best if he returns to his best form. Is there anyone else missed? Leicester haven't signed many foreign players, except loanees under Sven.
Haydos Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Best: Muzzy, Kamaark, Keller, Zagorakis. Bamba the best? Vitor was better than Bamba and he was 21 and didn't speak English.
Earl Shilton Lee Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 I'm not convinced by Zagorakis. He wasn't crap or anything but he was never more than a bit part player. Most he played in a season was 19 games in 1998-99.
FoxesFan123 Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Zagorakis only became a great player AFTER he left us. Kaamark for man-marking job on Juninho which won us the league cop has to get it.
Babylon Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Hellings, Cernic, Casino Jimmy, Kaebi, Kalac... the list goes on. Not so many good ones.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Kaamark by a country mile (which is apparently longer than your normal ones.) There's a lot worse than Momo Sylla though - at least he was good enough to get regular runs in the team unlike Kaebi and Crcnic.
Libertine Dream Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Best: Muzzy, Kamaark, Keller, Zagorakis. Bamba the best? Vitor was better than Bamba and he was 21 and didn't speak English. Don't think Muzzy counts as he was born in England, otherwise he'd have won in my opinion
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Best - Of Nigerian descent but born in the hackney branch of B&Q. Akinbiyi
Corky Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Best: Kaamark or Keller. Worst: Laursen or Kermorgant.
Nationwider Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 The best that I can recall watching is Kaamark or Keller, so I'd agree with Corky there. The worst - pretty much anyone signed under the Mandaric-Holloway-Allen axis of evil. Favourite - Jari Rantanen. The Mighty Finn.

Oh come all without, come all within You'll not see nothing like the mighty Finn Come all without, come all within You'll not see nothing like the mighty Finn.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 10 April 2012 Posted 10 April 2012 Best: Kaamark or Keller. Worst: Laursen or Kermorgant. I had a rethink on this and came up with that name too. Can't think of a single decent performance he gave for us. And if we count loans, then Roman Bednar. Can't think of a singular worse performance than his last appearance for us.
Tom17LCFC Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Bloomin' heck, not heard Zagorakis' name in years! I remember one game where one of our keepers was sent off and the other was injured so we had to put Zagorakis in goal. Think he managed to concede 3
Kitchandro Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Has to be Kalac. On his highlights alone, he played like what, 2 matches? He cost us about 5 goals!
StanSP Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Priet? Bori? Lazcko? ZSOLT LAZSHKO Even though still on 1st page, I'm surprised took so long for someone else to mention them! They'd be my worst. Best - Muzzy Izzet.
surrifox Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 by what possible criteria is Izzett a foreign signing?
Captain... Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 Has to be Kalac. On his highlights alone, he played like what, 2 matches? He cost us about 5 goals! I think he came on at half time against West Brom we were 3 nil up and conceded 2, then played the next match in cc cup and conceded 3 to Bolton, all 5 goals were his fault and lead to my favourite ever commentary from Radio Leicester: "...and Zjelko Kalac has his head in his hands... ...lets hope he doesn't drop it." Only other appearance was the final minute at wembley to watch Claridge shin it in. A terrible goalkeeper? For us yes. A terrible signing? As I recall he wasn't that expensive and didn't cost us anything other than a few unimportant goals, in the grand scheme of things. Kermogant and Akinbiyi cost us more. I would argue Danny Tiatto is one of our worst foreign signings, never liked him as a player, more of thug than a footballer and was captain during some of our worst seasons. Yes he showed PAAASSSHUUNNN!! but he really did epitomise everything that was wrong with the club.
Captain... Posted 11 April 2012 Posted 11 April 2012 by what possible criteria is Izzett a foreign signing? He's a Turkish international, but for the purposes of the 442 article he was ruled out as he was born in the UK, but to turkish parents. I don't think Zsolt Lacko and Gabor Bori counted either as they were loan signings. What about Ricardo (wasn't a loanee just a short term contract) cost us lots of goals and unsettled Weale to the point where he has not looked confident since.

Kalac would get my vote, for causing the most amount of damage in the least time. Mind you, at least he got a game. Jimmy Nielsen was probably worse but nobody ever got to find out
