Happy Fox Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 http://twitter.com/#!/John__Percy http://thesun.mobi/sol/homepage/sport/football/4158639/Football-transfer-gossip-news.html?mob=1 Peterborough manager DARREN FERGUSON has slapped a £2m price-tag on Paul Taylor, 24, who refused to sign a new deal at London Road. Reading, Leicester and Ipswich are in the hunt and Fergie said: “He sees his future in the Prem.”
Bayfox Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 I went to the posh away game with 2 p'boro fans and when you hear how he's had drink and drug problems, was on the football scrap head playing in belgium somewhere and then posh give him a chance, you just remember how little thanks or loyalty there is in football (big shock). But personally i think 2 million would be a nice return for posh but a big risk for a club like us, who's to say with the wedge and living in a big city he wouldn't slip back to his old ways. I also got told by a lot of them in bar before the game, Fulham and West Brom had watched him a lot this season so would take reading or us to go up for him to come to either.
Saxondale Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 A prem player? I'm not sure about that. He's scored 11 for Peterborough this season. Prior to this, his goalscoring pedigree extends to 17 in 32 for Vauxhall Motors and 13 in 18 for a Belgian 5th division side. Actually makes £1m for Jamie Vardy sound very cheap.
Happy Fox Posted 13 April 2012 Author Posted 13 April 2012 He has talent no doubt about that, but actually you would trust NP to channel that on the pitch wouldn't mind him here but £2m is a gamble. I suspect that Vardy for me would be the better option, maybe we will go for both of them?
KFS Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 He's tricky and has good pace, but it sounds like he thinks he's a big time Charlie. You never know, Pearson could iron out the creases.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Offer 1.5m take it or leave If they reject then move for Vardy I got told by one of my pboro mates who spoke to Taylor in a local shopping market he asked him why he rejected the contract and if he where to move where would he like to go, Taylor responded with because they would only offer him a 4 year contract and he wanted 2 and that If he was to move he wants to stay local!! Therefore we could be the best bet for him we would increase his wages a little, where a better team and where local therefore if we moved for him he might hand in a transfer request?
Libertine Dream Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Ran the show against us but Im not going to make a judgement on him having only seen him a couple of times. 2 million seems a lot to me though for him.
GingerrrFox Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 If just half of the rumours floating round about him are true then he's an absolute scumbag and the kind of player/person that we do not need in the dressing room! He's no great improvement on Schlupp, Waghorn and Hopper who all have much greater potential than him and he's nowhere near the class of Nugent and Beckford
Stevosevic Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Can see Waghorn being in Pearson's plans next season and Taylor is a similiar mould. Don't think there is anything in this one.
Simmo86 Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Big Fergie told little Fergie to sign him. Was all set to sign for Man Utd before he started sticking white powder up his nose. Decent but 2 million is a bit steep
MarkHowieLCFC Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 We don't need any big time charlies, need hungry players, can't see Pearson being too interested in him tbh...Vardy would be a better shout...
Guest BlueBrett Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Don't think you can call him a 'big time charlie' just because he turned down a new deal at Posh. Their wage cap is very low and if he feels he can double his pay packet elsewhere and his contract doesn't have that long left to run I think he's just looking after his own interests. Nothing wrong with that. We shouldn't be in for him though whatever the price. Too small and we're already lacking height. Fair enough if he was a world beater but he's hardly that.
Dan Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 £2mil for someone who won't sign a new deal at Peterborough. I wouldn't go above £1mil.
Leicesterpool Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 I remember saying after Peterborough game we should look at him, another idea would be to offer a swap deal couldn't we offer them Waghorn or even Howard.
thybluefox Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Nothing in this, we should all get ready for being linked to every player thats available this summer.
iamafox Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 Oh we're only linked with him because he scored against us. Not because he's good.
FrankieADZ Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 seems like every player who scores or plays well against us is suddenly linked to us....Strange that
Jace Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 seems like every player who scores or plays well against us is suddenly linked to us....Strange that Ive noticed that too, now would be a good time for Chelsea to maybe cash in on Torres and try and recoup their losses!
wellyfox Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 A big time charlie on charlie be a great move Mr Pearson don't seem to have a lot of time for this type. And we get linked to one thats a smackhead too
Corky Posted 13 April 2012 Posted 13 April 2012 seems like every player who scores or plays well against us is suddenly linked to us....Strange that Always rated that Fryatt from Hull.
